I booked an EICR certificate at a discounted price but the electrician failed the testing and gave a £270 bill for unnecessary work. I booked another EICR test with another trustworthy company found online with a bit of research. The price was slightly higher, but I wanted it retested.

It has passed, and I have been issued with a 3 year certificate without any work being done.

Made the mistake of initially going to them, which resulted in paying for the testing twice, but I'm glad I have not gone ahead and completed the unnecessary work they have ordered me to.

What I've learnt is, do your research before booking companies like this looking for opportunities in falsely charge people extra money for unnecessary work which doesn't need doing.

Cancelled last minute with no flexibility

The operative was punctual, polite, removed footware indoirs, communicated well, unserderstood and carried out electrical safety protocols and conducted the work diligently.

WARNING! Total rip off. I booked an appointment for an EICR in Sept 2023. No one turned up as the electrician went to the wrong address. After contacting them they've billed me for the call out and given me a list of repairs costing £290 which needs to be completed before they issue an certificate.

They did not even enter my property and now 6 months later I receive a call from Home hosts saying I will have debt collectors at my door if the invoice is not paid with the new additional charges.

So many companies out there, I would definitely not recommend them. The guy I spoke to over phone doesn't want to discuss anything and they don't reply back to emails to discuss the matter and resolve it.

EICR test, electrician turned up on time tested found two minor faults which he explained to me. Cost of the the test was £85. Faults found was continuity on one the of the 32A rings and no earth on one of the double sockets. I was quoted £100/hr + VAT to investigate and fix the faults with an hour allocated for each fault. I chose to not use home hosts for this. I booked a retest 2 days later, the electrician turned up on time and retested and took photo evidence that faults had been rectified, cost £69.

Didn't resolve the issue after two visits and although they say on the website the office is open Saturday it is not. My tenants are left without electricity and heating over the weekend and I'm scrambling to find another company to sort out the issued

I hired Home Hosts for an EICR, and after failing the certificate, they provided a costly quote for necessary fixes. Opting for a more affordable option, we addressed the issues independently. However, when we requested Home Hosts to retest, they refused. Subsequent inspections from other companies revealed additional issues not identified by Home Hosts. I felt misled and wouldn't recommend their services due to lack of transparency and trust.
