My experience with HomeServe has been…

My experience with HomeServe has been extremely disappointing and exhausting.

I opened a plumbing claim on February 27, 2026 after experiencing a sewer line issue that eventually escalated into sewage entering my basement through the concrete floor. What started as a drainage issue turned into a serious health hazard while I was left waiting for answers and resolution.

During the initial visit, the technician performed a camera inspection and showed me footage of water backing up in the line around 37–38 feet. At that time, there was no mention of a “belly” or structural defect. Over the following weeks, multiple technicians were sent out, including four visits in one day, yet no permanent repair was completed.

Nearly a month later, HomeServe changed the explanation and stated the issue was not covered due to a “belly” in the line. However, no written diagnostic report or recorded inspection footage was ever provided to support this determination.

What made the experience worse was the inconsistent communication:
- I was told calls were made that I never received
- I repeatedly had to chase updates
- The company later claimed the video inspection was “live,” despite the technician replaying the footage onsite for me

After escalating the issue through regulatory agencies, I was eventually contacted by HomeServe’s legal and regulatory division from the Office of the President.

This experience has felt less like a company trying to help a homeowner and more like a company trying to find a way out of coverage after the fact.

Customers should carefully review what is actually covered under these policies and be prepared to document everything.

The plumber that came to our home was great !

Turning in a claim was straight forward…

Turning in a claim was straight forward and easy. Trying to get my access fixed to my online account proved much more difficult. After multiple efforts to get an email to reset my password I gave up. Never did receive reset directions via email.
