Customer service didnt send 2 receipts and asked me to download myself after it failed to produce the first time I tried - it would have been easy for them to have just sent me the receipts as a one off!

Unfair Charges & Zero Empathy: M6 Toll Profits from Emergency Safety Maneuvers
I am deeply disappointed by the greed and total lack of common sense displayed by M6 Toll customer service.
While driving near the roundabout, a reckless truck cut across my lane. To avoid a severe collision, I was forced to take the exit onto the M6 Toll as an emergency evasive maneuver. I had no intention of using their road, and the forced detour actually added extra time to my journey.
When I contacted their customer care team to request a refund for this unfair charge, their official response was simply: "M6Toll cannot be held responsible for the driver’s actions... a refund cannot be processed."
It is absurd and inherently unfair that ordinary drivers are financially penalized for prioritizing road safety and avoiding an accident. Enforcing rigid toll payments in emergency safety scenarios demonstrates a troubling, profit-driven mindset that puts corporate revenues above basic logic, customer well-being, and road safety.
Drivers should not have to pay for avoiding a crash. Their zero-empathy policy desperately needs to change.

I had paid my £12 and then having…
I had paid my £12 and then having travelled one junction was redirected off the toll road as it was shut. Fair enough, I googled what was going on and it was HS2 works and it suggested a full refund would be given. That sadly was not to be the case as their customer service rep said it was well published and sign posted, well I was not aware of it and saw no signing coming from an A road onto it, but they offered me a 'goodwill gesture' of £9.50. So I was still £2.50 down for a service I paid for but didnt receive.
Two days later! This appears to be a company that does actually read its reviews as in many ways it could ignore the nay sayers as they have a captive audience and dissatisfied reviews wont hurt their business. However, I have received a prompt response which explains further the circumstances of my unsatisfactory journey and confirms a full refund has been issued. I can't complain now, only applaud their professional and personal response.

The M6toll operates a zone-based pricing structure, and for the journey you completed you were only charged £9.50 for the two zones travelled. The additional amount you may have seen was a temporary pre-authorisation, which is not a charge and is automatically released by your card provider.

Great for beating the congestion on the Birmingham m6 road. Very clean and the views are great. I think speed cameras are needed on the gantrys as some cars go at crazy speeds especially near the toll booth end North bound
