Both journeys paid for
Both journeys paid for, neither showing to get a receipt on the website. Queried both and, 7 days later, apparently one was ‘incomplete’. Queried again and then both receipts appeared by email!

Prompt customer service
I had a query about pricing which was answered quickly and politely. However, other than referring me to a Breeze account, my complaint about the cost (approx £1 per mile) was not addressed.

Receipt farce
Having to wait up to 48 hours for a receipt when it used to be instant is crazy in this day and age. Staff were polite but the system is flawed. The increase in what you pay has been astronomical recently and what you get back for that doesn’t warrant it.

Hi Matt and thanks for your review. When you tap your card, we don’t yet know the final cost of your journey as charges are calculated based on the number of zones travelled through, using images captured at entry and exit. For that reason, a receipt cannot be produced immediately.
Receipts are usually available online within a few hours of travel, although in some cases they can take up to 48 hours if images require manual review.

Refund given
I contacted the toll after a journey that sat nav diverted us off the toll and back because of an accident. We were charged twice and I queried this. A refund for some of the journey was processed. We don’t live in the area so have no experience of using the toll regularly.

The response was impersonal and poor
The response was impersonal and poor. They don’t seem to understand that disabled people do not have the time or resources to work around their processes. It was sadly v extremely poor service.
I have now received a bizarre response from M6 toll in response to my review which contains false and misleading information. It appears my rating of 1 star was too generous.
Update: my exemption has lapsed and I’m unable to re-register for it. Your service is exceptionally poor.

Hi Mohammed, I'm sorry to hear that you feel the service you received was poor.
We do understand that applying for and maintaining an exemption should be as straightforward as possible, particularly for disabled customers.
However, we are required to follow strict validation processes and can only accept documents that meet the criteria and are current at the time they are submitted. Unfortunately, the original document provided was out of date, which meant we were unable to approve the application based on that evidence.
I can also see that my colleague attempted to contact you by telephone to discuss the issue before the email was issued, but we were unable to reach you and did not receive a response to our call. As a result, we followed up by email to ensure you were kept informed.
As soon as we receivd the correct document your exemption was oened immediately.

Being cashless is utterly stupid. People need to be given the option to pay with cash if they choose to. Some people have no choice. You are putting people in a very unfair position.

Hi Matt, and thank you for your feedback. Our cashless system helps keep traffic moving quickly through the toll road, reducing queues and delays. Most customers now prefer to pay by card and carry less cash than in the past. For customers who do not have a payment card available, we also offer the option to take a Payment Notice and pay online later. We appreciate your comments and will take them on board.
