I have just been SCAMMED for £16 to change my address on my TV License. It is completely FREE to update details on the actual TV Licensing website 😡😡

My husband was scammed £16 for trying to cancel our TV licence at a property we had just sold. We contacted our bank to resolve the matter. I don’t understand how they are allowed to operate or why they aren’t being investigated. It is fraud in broad daylight! TV Licensing knew nothing about it.

Just been scammed do not use this site I stupidly paid to change my TV licence home address when it’s free on the actually real site!

I paid £16.50 to notify my moving address to my council . My council no nothing about this company or my payment they are Scammers…
AVOID DO NOT USR MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON YOUR COUNCILS SITE

SCAM AVOID THIS site/ I paid for TV licence cancellation £16.50 , I got a letter from the real TV licence people saying i have no licence i rang them be told they do not charge a cancellation fee !!!1

Scam Site, albeit just on the legal side and well put together….but scam.

Makes you think it’s the tv licence website and you get charged £16.50 to change address, very misleading

Cannot get through BCP council by phone. When you do they put the phone down or play classical music. Link on the website does not work. They send ut threatening letters regarding council tax payment and make it imposible to challenge their demand.

Scam site, they will charge you to change your TV licence details.

UPDATE: Well how stupid do I feel. I have just gone onto the chat on the My Council site and just asked them for a refund of the £16.50 I paid to change my address and without hesitation they asked for my details and have told me I will get a refund 5-7 days time. Just hope I've not been hoodwinked. If I don't receive it I shall post an additional Update.

I would have not clicked a star but it wouldn't let me, I'm angry with myself for stupidly thinking I was actually on the TV Licencing people to change my address. Having read all the reviews I wonder how they are allowed to still be able to be coming up when you search for the legitimate sites. Thieving, immoral people. Definite SCAM

SCAM!!!!! I can't believe I fell for this scam- moved house and needed to change my address on everything. Was sorting my TV licence and accidently clicked on the My council link instead of TV licencing. They charged me £16.50. When I realised this wasn't actually the TV licencing website I checked and it is free to change my address with them.

Outraged, now I've got the hassle of trying to get the money back from my credit card company (and it took me 1 minute to change it officially on the TV licencing website!!)

I agree with other reviewers, it is a con as you can change address for free through your council and don't need to pay this scam company.

I was suckered. This is a blood-sucking racket that charges you for changing your address for council tax, when you can do it free. The prey on people who are ordinarily online savvy and are a bit too confident in falling for web pages, which look like the ones you're looking for. They should be banned, pure and simple. It disgusts me that they're allowed to continue in 'business', or rather, scamming.

I made same mistake thinking I was on gov. Website to change council tax address and paid £16.50 for the change. When I realised this, the next day I contacted my-council via their chat. Gentleman was very nice and I received a refund the following day.

This is very clearly a scam site, paying Google to promote them for search terms for services like address change. My wife called me to check if we needed to pay to change the TV license address for her sister - fortunately I've done it before and know it's free.

This is a scam website DO NOT USE IT ! I can’t believe I fell for it ! £16.50 to close your council tax account online but lucky for me the Halifax gave me the money back the following day which was excellent 👍

It's a scam. I was taken to this site thinking it was my local council website and ended up paying them £16.5 for notifying the councils which you can do directly on the correct council page for free. The website needs to be taken down!

Scammed into paying them £16.50 - I thought this was a page on my local council's website so went through and gave them all my moving details. Then it said it was £16.50, which I thought I was paying to the council. Nope, just a private company who will now apparently "send letters" to both the councils involved. For a free service you can just do directly with the council. The link to my local council had been hijacked by this company. It needs to be taken down. I will report.

I naively thought this organisation was affiliated with the council and the tv licensing. Nothing happened for a few weeks and had to call the tv license directly who advised they never charge cancellation fees. OMG I felt scammed. Now awaiting their refund. Fyi, no need their service for cancelling tv license. They're not in anyway affiliated.
