My Council Avis 

Moving house is traumatic. Accidentally using a site which appears legitimate instead of the genuine site can be expensive. You got me!!!! £16.50....the genuine site was "free". Inadequate price/cost warning is perhaps not an oversight?

If it was possible to give a minus 10 score for this scam of a website I would, although I'm more than annoyed at myself for falling for it. Trying to change my address for my TV licence and this came up at the top of the Google search. My-council obviously spend a lot of money on Google ad placement, and probably make 100 times that amount by duping gullible people like me.

I opened up a dispute with my bank and received a refund hours later.

It may not be criminal, or fraudulent but it's morally reprehensible and I suspect a lot of pensioners and older people lose a lot of money to these shysters. Should be stopped.

This is essentially a SCAM site, allowed to buy space at the top of Google searches which they shouldn't be. I went into the legitimate TV licensing site, then Googled again and these clowns came up - the site looks just like all the other 'change your address' forms. I reported to my bank who have blocked any further payments - they told me this site, rather than being straightforwardly criminal, deceives people into paying for services which are actually free. They will then actually carry out the 'service' which is how they are allowed to continue operating. I am less bothered for myself - I should have looked more carefully - but thinking of someone confused or very elderly or who really couldn't spare that money makes me quite angry. Time for a campaign!

Not sure why it is soo hard to contact local councils, they never seem to answer the phone and states 5 weeks to process any requests??? Used this website to make the move request as impossible to contact my local council most days.

Process was easy and less confusing that others i found online in the end.

Scam website do not use!

Aberdeen city council, I would give no stars. They even lied to me, and a couple of others. The Environment dept certainly lied to me. Social workers based there not very good also. Maybe that’s the norm.

Misleading and impossible to contact!!

I was trying to cancel my tv licence as part of a LOT of moving administration, and when I googled 'cancel TV licence' this came up top of the search and without checking the URL (granted, my oversight) I clicked on the first link. The form for cancellation looked legitimate and I failed to realise until I had put a £16.50 payment through and it took me to the confirmation page that it wasn't the actual TV licensing website.

Granted, I should have been more aware but this is extremely misleading, and the live chat function does not work to contact them for a refund. No phone number - this is a very legitimate looking opportunity to scam people out of money for services which are free.

Looks and feels like the official TV licensing site but neglects to say they'll charge £16 for the privilege. Asks for your bank account to 'verify your details'. Avoid and go to the official TV licensing website to update your details for free.

East riding council Got behind on my council tax I have more going out as I do coming im a middle aged woman as I'm a single person and work full time I get no help from anywhere they put an attachment of earnings on me did an expenditures form as it was putting me in server hard ship was not interested in cancelling it and setting up a payment plan so I know have to make a decision weather I go see my grandson who had open heart surgery recently and lives across the number bridge or feed myself as I'm diabetic or allow my dog to go blind as he has glochomia and requires frequent medication absolutely appealing that they want to put you in server hardship even tho you are already there they want to put you further in so your depression and anxiety go further down maybe they are hoping I give up on life and quit my job as I can't afford a roof above my head or to commute to work qnd back so what is the point if you can't afford to live what the point in us been here

Where does all our council tax money go? They never answer the phone?

Couldn’t get hold of my council for days their automated phone system kept telling me to go online but I needed help with, these guys were able to assist me via live chat and also updated a few of my other suppliers also, thanksnfor the help

I got them mistaken for legitimate tv licence website. And I was surprised when they charged £16.50. Neverless I paid it, thinking I had no choice. It’s not until I got the confirmation email that I realised it’s not tv licensing. I couldn’t find any contact phone number so used the online chat. After about 15 mins someone answered and after an exchange of few work I was promised to get my money back. It should take 4-7 days to refund me. I’m on day too. Fingers crossed I’ll get it back.

Recently used this service to check if I was set up correctly with my council to my surprise, they were actually overcharging me for the last year team was helpful and advising me the best way to proceed and have now contacted them to request an adjustment to my account. I fell for this too. I was simply trying to change address on my TV licence and these people pretend to be the genuine TV licence site and charge you £16.50 for a free service. OK, I should have checked more carefully but when you're moving house you've so much admin to do it's easy to miss something like this and the UK is so greedy these days one isn't surprised by a charge like this popping up.

I have to say as I find, like many negative reviewers on here. I thought I was dealing with my local council as this was the first listing. I thought the £16.50 was for the extra council tax as I was moving to a more expensive property. Minutes after paying I realised my mistake and I have to say it was my mistake, I should have taken more care. Anyway I immediately jumped on the chat and explained to the person my error, straight away with no quibbling they said the order would be cancelled and a full refund given. I was quite sceptical about this as I had checked here for reviews about them and every other review was calling them scammers. However I have today received a refund, therefore although initially very angry about my mistake the company quickly rectified the situation. If they were scamming I would never had seen my money again.

Scam,google should never allow this to be 1st on the search site.
Got fooled like everybody else

Glad I found a service that can help me do this. I’ve been trying to contact my council for days and they never seem to answer their phone. This website was easy to use and I’ve now updated both the council and a few others. Thanks will recommend

Like everyone else I fell for this - Google should be ashamed of itself for putting these scammers above the real TV Licensing site.

Was trying to update my local council found this service, was helpful and have updated a few different companies. Only thing i would say is they are missing some of my suppliers from the list, othrwise saved me some time please submit my review
