We are sorry to hear that you were not happy with the engineer.
You have said that the engineer just inspected the boiler, he would have checked to ensure that your boiler was working as it should and was safe for your continued use. As your boiler is only a year old, it is unlikely to have very much wear and tear.
When a booking is placed for a boiler service, it is for the engineer to attend to inspect the boiler.

The engineer said he tried to contact you to arrange his attendance but was unable to get through to you. When he did eventually get through to you, he was advised that the work had been completed by another engineer and his service was no longer required.

engineer sent to fix boiler never…
engineer sent to fix boiler never completed fix. Very difficult to contact engineer, either wouldn't answer phone/txt or would make appointments and then either move them or not turn up. I employed another company to complete the fix and have paid twice.

We can see that you placed a booking for a boiler repair and the engineer attended to carry out the repair on your boiler. After carrying out fault finding checks, he found that the issue was with your tank and not your boiler. He advised you that there was water in your tank, and this was affecting the operation of your boiler.
We understand that the engineer provided you with a quote to attend to carry out the work agreed between you on your tank to remove the water. We are very sorry to hear that the engineer did not attend on the date agreed for him to carry out the work and that you had difficulty contacting him.
