Why buy a new PC ever again?
Having purchased two previous laptops, in 2018 and 2020, which are still going strong, I didn't hesitate to go to the My Cheap Laptop website when I wanted another. The order process for my Microsoft Surface Pro was as simple as before and the prompt delivery via tracked Parcelforce 24 was spot on. And I'm really pleased with the look and performance of the PC. I can't see myself ever buying a new machine when I can get quality and service like this so much cheaper.

This company has given me excellent service yet again so I am adding this additional 5* review to my previous one 😊😊😊
We took out an optional warranty when we bought the computer 2 years ago, and we had a small problem last week. We phoned MyCheapLaptop and got through straight away to a human being which says a lot nowadays. MyCheapLaptop attended to our problem immediately with no quibble, and a really lovely and helpful attitude. All sorted now and looks brand new.

Whilst it's a shame you had an issue, it's good to see that you managed to use the option warranty purchased to your benefit and have written about it as we do hear too many times that companies offer these additional warranties but do not honour them.
As people will see, this is not the case with us, we always ensure to adhere to any extended warrant5y issues just as swiftly as an original 12 month warranty claim.

New Dell laptop
Wishing to replace an old laptop with something newer, but wanting to remain green and recycle, I came across the mycheaplaptop website. I found the website very easy to navigate, ordering menu incredibly straightforward for a non-technical individual, and the equipment arrived in good working condition as described. Could not be happier!

Magnificent beautifully refurbished Microsoft Surface
I have bought many refurbished laptops from My Cheap Laptop in recent years over the last year or so, I have bought five beautifully refurbished Microsoft Surface laptops. I still have four but gave one to my son who is delighted with it. I have bought others from them, a couple of HP, one of which I gave to my daughter. She had previously bought one direct, so now has two for different uses. I only had one minor problem which was with a Surface keyboard. It was replaced within days. The Surface that I bought have now sold out, but a more modern one is still on sale and compared with their original price, are a real bargain. I cannot recommend them highly enough! My purchase date may not be accurate as I’ve bought at least ten in recent times.

Poor service
The item did not arrive on time so I called and was told it would be delivered the following day. By lunchtime it had not arrived but I had received an email saying the order was complete. I tried to ring but the office was closed! An hour later the item did arrive but how could they send me the completion email without verification from the delivery driver that it had been delivered?

We are sorry that you feel as though you had to leave a 1 star review about our company due to your delivery being late.
As we are sure people can understand, December is a very busy time for retailers, especially when the black Friday weekend and specifically Cyber Monday fell in to December this year.
We can see that you placed an order on the 3rd December with an estimated delivery date of Tuesday 10th December 2024.
From our records we can see that your delivery was slightly later than this and was signed for by yourself at 12.23 on Wednesday 11th December.
We do apologise for this inconvenience, however we must stress that whilst we attempt to adhere to them, the delivery dates offered on our website are an estimate only, not a guarantee.
We are sorry that you called and found our offices closed, the telephone lines close for lunch between 12-2pm so we can only gather that you called between these hours.
As for your order complete notification, this is to notify customers that we have completed the order and that it's on it's way to you, from there it is left to the courier and is no reflection on delivery confirmation, therefore this is where we believe there is a misunderstanding of the email in which you have received prior to delivery stating your order is complete.
Overall we have not delivered an item within the delivery estimate and we once again can only apologise for this, however we do feel that as a company we do try our very best to keep our customers informed with any updates on orders placed and hope that they can accept that from time to time, deliveries are later than estimated due to a number of reasons as stated in our terms and conditions on the website.
We hope that everything was and is still ok with the device you purchased and hope that you can accept our apology for delivering your item later than expected.

Dont Believe Them, Believe Dell
They are cheap, but so is their ownership of what they sell.
I received a Dell, with an offered upgrade from Win10 to Win 11. They are Microsoft Certified (blah blah) sothey know what they are doing?
I got a warning from Microsoft that the Dell wasn't "certified" for Win 11. What use is such a message?
Anyway, it eventually failed after a year of involuntary updates (exit, stage left: MyCheapLaptop plc.)
The lady on the phone simply blocked me from any support, and used her vast knowledge to tell me that the Dell was indeed cpmpatible with Win 11. Dell still disagrees with her. I refuse to deal with a font of no knowledge, so I will never support MyUselessLaptop again.
Good for everyone else who loves them. Beware the dragons.

I have now bought 4 laptops from this company, the last two were sold as the same model but when turned on were a different spec. No touch screen on one, though the touch screen was not part of the advertised functionality, they swapped it out without quibble. A great company to deal with, buy with confidence.

Ordered a laptop
Ordered a laptop, came in great condition. Had no problems with the hardware. However, the 13'' screen turned out to be quite inconvenient so I decided to return it. Here I had no problems with the refund. Both service and the equipment quality are at least worth trying in my opinion.

What a great customer service experience! I purchased a used laptop from the company. Unfortunately the power supply was faulty. I sent a message and had a replacement delivered within 24 hours. Cannot get better than that.

Their phone helpline is never on and I just get an answer phone that says the offices are closed despite trying to phone in their office hours.

We can see you placed an order on Friday 7th June in which was delivered on the 12th June.
We are a little bemused to read that you have called multiple times and that our phone lines are never on.
Lines are open between 9-12 and 2-5 Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays.
In addition, our email addresses sales@mycheaplaptop.co.uk or support@mycheaplaptop.co.uk are both visible on our website and on the invoice provided with your order.
We can see that you used email as a point of correspondence and we replied within an hour stating the office phone line opening hours to you alongside offering to help with your issue.
From there you called us and we arranged for a new item to be delivered to you and as far as we are aware this unit was delivered as promised and everything was ok with it.
We certainly have not stolen anyone's money and are more than happy to help if an issue arises as we feel we have done in this case.
We would very much appreciate it if you were able to reconsider your review of the service we have provided.

Waste of time
I recently bought a Dell laptop from here, arrived within 2 days, charged it up. Went to use it, all was fine until 90mins in the battery was flat.
Put on charge and it was still charging 20 hours later.
Rang and was told that battery is only guaranteed for 1 hour. And wouldn't replace the battery even though it is faulty.
I was told to return it and they will swap it or get my money back. I don't want to swap it, I just want the battery replacing.
Useless and unhelpful.

As readers will see from this review, we tried to help this customer with their battery issue even though it fell within the guarantee in which we offered on this device at the time, however the customer would not accept our support.
Batteries are consumable items and do deteriorate over time, therefore we cannot give too many guarantees on a refurbished device, however whilst we expect them to last longer than stated, if a better falls below or close to the guarantee we do offer to help where we can.
We hope that this negative review is not off-putting based on the facts stated both in the review and our reply.

Laptop was as ordered and was delivered safely and quickly and worked well.
Unfortunately a problem occurred after about 2 months which stopped it working altogether.
Obviously I reported this and a replacement was arranged quickly and efficiently with the original laptop collected at the same time, making life nice and easy.
Replacement has worked without problem since I've had it, which is about 7 months.
Pricing has allowed me to get a higher spec, than I would have done and still at less than I would have paid for a new laptop with lower spec.
Very happy and would recommend.
