This was one of the easiest accounts to set up. I was enticed by various offers ranging from pay in 3 6 or 12 months. My offer was interest free. Here’s the good part in my opinion. I never set up a direct debit. I used that pay instantly by bank which is easier for me. I was never bombarded with request do set up one which I find commendable.

Complained about interest charged monthly, despite it being in 48 month contract, got letter saying they made a mistake and have decided to close account.
This despite me paying over the contractual agreed amount to reduce the time my contract lasted.
Already repaid £700 out of £1200, so equivalent to 2 years repayment, luckily only needed loan to get a phone.
Reply,
My monthly contract is £34.60 for 48month, this covered cost of phone and interest.
Shouldn't have a seperate interest of £29 a month on top.
Next month I will pay £250 and following month another £250.
As I said i have been paying £50 a month, considering I believe paying more when I can.
Update 2 it newpay account not credit card account for mobile on AO.com

Bad company
I got a table paid over 6 months
Always paid and extra payments to get it paid quicker
So anyway I paid it off in full when balance was lower
This has been fully paid off for 4 months in which I’m still being sent emails saying my statement is ready please pay
Anyway I log on thinking what the hell I’ve paid it off
So they keep adding interest it’s only like 10p etc which isn’t bad but I’m unsure why they are doing this and why I’m still paying interest I’m dreading each month now as what’s to say it isn’t going to be more 1 month as it seems to be getting a little higher
I was actually going to get a sofa but I won’t now there is no clear information to say if I pay account off I will be charged constantly
Avoid Avoid Avoid I don’t know how this company gets away with this
There is no way to contact them and looking at the comments they say they will do something and don’t they lie repeatedly
Don’t order from them use clearpay or Klarna instead

They have just now started doing credit for argos, their new app is terrible, it's far worst than the old argos app that allowed you to pay for buy now pay later deals whenever you wanted, I use to pay for these monthly and then clear them at the end of the term, now I can't do that and have to wait till the end of the term to pay the whole lot off, but what I'm concerned about is when do I pay, how can I be certain newpay will take it of the right plan and not take it off my normal credit and get a huge spike in my interest charges, it seems to me to be a ploy by new pay to scam you into getting charged more, I don't feel I can carry on using Argos as much now cause of this. They replied to me complaint and gave me £25 into my account, fair enough but that's not what is gonna change anything for me, in fact its an insult to offer that and still then bang on about all what I know which was basically them saying trust us to do the right thing, also their slogan on the app is buy when you want, pay when you want, what an absolute joke, I can't pay what I want when I want cause now you have taken that option away from me. I hope they get alot more complaints and change the app accordingly and stop me thinking they are doing this to just scam people into paying more interest for when they havnt taken my payment off the plan that's ending and taken it off my normal credit instead.

Very difficult to communicate with then added huge interest rates and charges after continually telling me someone will be in touch. I will never use this company again and would advise against using them.

Me and my wife bought an expensive gift using newpay. We had used them before with no issues so we didn't think there would be any this time. We agreed the monthly cost and direct debit date etc and made the purchase. They took the 1st direct debit no problem, the 2nd direct debit they tried to take a couple of days early and as we have a certain account that is only used for our direct debits we hadn't transfered the money over yet as it wasn't due so it was a returned direct debit. The 3rd month they took the direct debit on the correct date no issues but then the same thing happened on the 4th month, they tried early and we hadn't transfered it over as it wasn't due. They then canceled our direct debit so my wife who suffers with learning difficulties starting paying manually every month on the app. Fast forward a year I asked my wife how much was left on the balance and she told me it wasn't much less than the original purchase. I didn't understand how that could be as the original purchase was £2700 and we had been paying £80 a month so that balance should have been around £1740. After looking further into this i see on my wife's app that they had cancelled our original credit agreement due to the to missed direct debit towards the beginning, which they tried to take before the agreed date might i add or they would have never been missed. And out of the £80 a month we have been paying they have been taking nearly £60 of it for interest and only £20 of it off the balance. Meaning what should have been a 3 year term is now going to take us years and years as my wife can no longer work due to having a pacemaker fitted, fluid on the brain and fybromyalgia. We have 2 kids and are living of just my wage.

Good evening I have tried to contact Newpay since Saturday. I applied for a mobile contract only to be declined, presuming as my maiden name was on my bank details. This has now been rectified. I was told to reapply by the mobile provider, only to take my money again to be verified. Take my money and straight away say I’ve been declined as I have already tried. This is ridiculous. Please can someone get back to me.
I have tried to call this morning to dispute being declined, as it states you can - only to find I can't speak to anyone as it asks for an accounts number!!! Which I don't have!!!
Still waiting a response? I submitted my info as requested. Can someone get back to me?

I recently took out finance through Newpay for a training course. My experience has been disappointing due to unclear communication about the monthly payment schedule.
My first monthly statement clearly showed “Payment Requested: £38.47”, so I paid this amount by the due date. There was no repayment schedule or instalment amount provided to me in writing after signing the credit agreement. Because of this, I had no way to know that the actual instalment was around £136.
Despite paying the amount Newpay requested on their own statement, my promotional rate was removed and I was charged £204 interest in one month, along with a late fee, and my account was suspended. I was then told to pay more than £200 the following month to bring the account back in order.
This situation was caused by unclear communication, not by refusing to pay. If the instalment amount had been provided in a durable format (email/PDF) as required, I would have paid the correct amount from the start. Instead, I relied on the only written information available – the statement showing £38.47.
I have raised a formal complaint and hope Newpay resolves this fairly by refunding the interest and reinstating the instalment plan. I’m now warning other customers to make sure you receive your repayment schedule in writing before relying on the monthly statements.
I believe financial providers should clearly show the correct instalment amount on the first statement to avoid this confusion.
