Still going with these folks going on…

Still going with these folks going on four months and still no idea when my service will be operational .Scheduled Final inspection twice and failed to show or notify me what was going on.Now they say they were suppose to upgrade the panel and then final inspection .So now they not sure when the panel installation will happen .Like most of you folks found them nice and were going to do their very best .Unfortunately right now couldn't recommend this company to anybody, but they might get better service So like I said 3 stars just for their honesty in the beginning ....

Worst supplier ever please avoid !

Worst supplier ever please avoid !! I am taking matters further as .84p per min for being off supply . As well as not being able to speak to a person on the phone there prepayment meters are robbing people blind £5 are vanishing off the meter they use the you must of used family and friends credit even though i watched the emergency credit . Nothing but con men .

Hi Denise,

When your partner came on live chat we took meter reading and investigated your usage. We explained what had happened on your meter and that you had most likely used some friendly credit. You can alway find out exactly how much is owed when your meter switches off prior to topping up your meter by accessing screen B. While this can me confusing for customers the advantage for our customers is that you will never go off supply when our call center is closed.

We pride ourselves on our customer service but you are free to switch away at any time. I am sorry the explainations provided at the time did not meet your expectations.

My meter decided to fail on a weekend

My meter decided to fail on a weekend, And I was apprehensive with the office not being open. But the customer service team still organised a new meter within a couple of hours. And the refund was sorted within 3 working days. Yes, prices have gone up, but so have everyone else'. Still under the price cap. And highly recommended from me.

Why another price hike

I have a pre payment meter for electricity with omni energy. Within a month of joining the prices was hiked up, now we are on a second increase. So I’ve checked that omni energy is a green electricity supplier. This states that for every unit of energy I use the company ensures that another unit is placed back onto the network by a renewable generator, such as wind, solar and hydro. It’s stated that prices are increasing due to an wholesale increase in energy. Ok, obviously the infrastructure to supply this way must already be in place. So wind turbines must be there, water turbines and solar panels, so why the increase. Has the wind decided it needs more money to blow the wind turbines, or the water decided it needs more money to push the water turbines or the sun decided it needs more money to shine on the solar panels. No greedy fat cat people have. May I suggest your company taking a hit in its profits for a change and really looking after its customers like you all promise to do, but all fail so miserably at. Obviously your reply to this review will of course state that you are the lowest price around and I am free to leave with no penalty, blah, blah, blah.
I have also written to the wind, water and sun to get its act together to so don’t feel that I am just targeting your company.
Much love to the earth for providing free green electricity and to you for twisting it around and shafting us financially

Thanks for leaving us this review Mark. We totally get your frustration with the rising costs of wholesale energy which is impacting all energy suppliers across the UK at the moment.

You ask a great question about why the rising wholesale costs impacts our energy prices when Omni Energy supplies 100% green electricity. At the moment, there is only one price for gas or electricity in the UK. There aren’t separate markets for green and non-green energy sources. The cost is determined by what people will pay for energy at a particular time, regardless of the source. So, when the cost of electricity produced by burning gas goes up, so does the cost of electricity from wind, solar and other green sources.

These recent increases are mainly driven by the rising gas costs. The UK is still dependent on gas-fired power plants for a significant proportion of its electricity generation. So, higher gas costs mean higher electricity costs too. Several things are behind the increases. Global weather, including the cold winter we had in Europe and heatwaves in Asia, has contributed to low gas storage levels. On top of this, there have been issues with supplies of gas from Russia.

Thanks for being a loyal customer of Omni Energy, and we hope you stick with us so that we can pass on any reduction in the cost of wholesale energy when they happen.

Communication is always good, really easy to get in touch if needed and the customer care staff are knowledgable and polite. Has been really easy to switch and experience has been good. Would recommend.

Excellent company, highly recommend!

I cannot fault Omni Energy at all. Having had a very bad ongoing experience with my previous supplier, Omni have been a breath of fresh air! They respond to their online chat and phone calls within seconds, unlike 20 mins or so with my previous supplier. They are very helpful and professional, and my cards and keys arrive promptly, again, unlike my previous supplier who sometimes couldn't be bothered to send them out. I would definitely highly recommend this company, just wish I found them sooner.

Amazing service

I had an emergency on a Sunday evening where my puppy chewed up my top up card, and then the meter itself decided to break down!

The phone lines were closed so I posted a message on the webcam form, Omni monitor this out of hours and their rep, Chris, got back to me within the hour. I don't like using the phone at the best of times so we conducted everything over email and he was really helpful. I had an engineer out to replace the meter within 12 hours and a new gas card was sent to my address the day after.

Throughout Chris was polite and helpful, he answered all of my questions and even checked in after the engineer had been to ensure everything was working as it should. I couldn't have asked for more and it was a lot easier dealing with Omni that with other companies I've been with in the past. Highly recommend!

Would have given 5 stars if prices…

Would have given 5 stars if prices didn't increase 3 days after receiving my new gas and electric card and key... But communication is always fantastic and the switch was really easy.

We don't like changing our prices and we've managed to hold off changing our prices for as long as possible given the big increases in the costs of wholesale energy. After the price change, we'll still be £126 cheaper than the energy price cap for a typical prepayment dual fuel customer with average consumption.

Significant improvement

I joined Omni to support one of the smaller suppliers and because their rates were competitive. I’ve edited my review from one star to 5 stars at my own decision, because the service standards have improved significantly.

They have been quick to help when an issue has occurred, even if not there fault and I decided to remain with them. They are also at time of writing the cheapest prepay in the UK.

Great customer service

So i had been a customer of one of the Big energy companies for a number of years. I am on Pre payment for electricity and had seen an advert for Omni Energy. I clicked through on the link and signed up as the price was cheaper than i was currently paying. A few days later i received an email from my Gas company saying "Sorry you are thinking of leaving us" I panicked as i hadn't signed up for Gas. I called Omni energy and got through to someone straight away who cancelled the Gas supply transfer. They were very apologetic and less than 12 hours later i received an updated email from my Gas company saying the switch had been cancelled.
Very good customer service and hopefully in a few months i will be able to switch my Gas supply (when i'm out of contract)

Best energy supplier

Easy to contact and reply to messages immediately not like other energy suppliers. Cheapest energy supplier i have found and with good customer service definitely need more than a 5* rating

JOIN WITH CAUTION

Lost our electricity key and no shops locally had them in stock, the power has gone and i've explained my mum is disabled and requires constant electricity and she cannot get cold, was told to wait 3-5 days for it to come through the post. We are in lockdown and have absolutely no supply. Disgusting company will be switching.

Reply to Omni: I didn't accept your solution because there wasn't really one given that would be acceptable. No shops in my area had the keys this isn’t my fault nor yours. Waiting 3 days for a replacement wasn’t an option either when a constant supply of electric is required. The standard procedure for the majority of customers is to get them back on supply asap especially if they’re vulnerable. The shop you told me to go to isn't even open anymore and was 3 miles from my property, when we're in lockdown and people are shielding the idea is that you don't mix so getting a taxi/bus wasn't a viable option. The advisor (Chris) is truly a genuine credit to this company and went that extra mile to try and find a solution for me, I appreciated this and took that on-board which is why I'm replying back to this review, he likely has to put up with similar stuff all the time but it’s expected if you don’t have any form of ECO team.
The other advisor that I spoke to on live chat (Charlie) was terrible, his/her attitude was similar to what a school pupil would act like and is ultimately what has led to me to put in a request to switch – the customer service displayed from this individual needs major improvement otherwise you’ll likely lose more customers.

I’ve been in-touch with our Customer Service team, who have reviewed your calls and live chats into our contact centre yesterday. To respond to some of your points, you confirmed that you’d lost your electricity key but that you were on supply with no loss of power. The quickest way to resolve things was offered to you which is for you to collect a new key from a key stockist. As we’d had some issues with stockists in your area our team rang around to confirm which shop had keys and the nearest shop was three miles from your postcode.

As this solution wasn’t accepted by you, we next offered to post a new electricity key and due to the timing of your contact, the next guaranteed delivery date was Thursday 26th November. As this solution was not accepted by you, we next offered to credit your account £10 to cover the cost of a taxi to collect the key from the shop. Again, this solution wasn’t accepted by you.

Our team then started to think about further options and when they called you back you confirmed that you’d found your key and apologised to our customer service team for your interactions. We did ask you to consider removing this review because we didn’t feel it accurately reflected the issue, and you explained you would not do that.

We are sorry that you want to leave – your account doesn’t have any exit fees – and after our review we are confident that we tried to fix your issue compassionately and professionally.

Excellent customer service and reasonable rates. No question is too stupid and waiting times on the phone are great compared to other companies I have been with - always talking to a human being really makes a difference. New online portal looks intuitive

Amazing!

Amazing, I switched in August and the switch was smooth and quick no hassle for me. The Card and key arrived on time. I called them and there customer service team where so polite and helpful and I didn’t spend hours on hold, like I have with other suppliers. No issues would 100% recommend, have saved so much money with them!

I've recently joined Omni Energy after a polite representative called round to my home. He was very smart in appearance and explained everything clearly to me in order for me to make the decision to switch my energy excellent!
