My precious Border Collie who went walkabout…
My precious Border Collie who is senior in years, went missing for several hours while staying with a friend.
I contacted PETtrac who was the microchip provider when he was a puppy, explained the situation and Ellen who I spoke to was very helpful & reassuring during his missing hours. PETtrac put out a red alert flag on his status until we had managed to ascertain his whereabouts via notification from the local canine rescue organisation that someone had found him only a short distance away, and had contacted them and that they now had him.
After providing all his legal paperwork to the organisation who had him, my precious Boy who I bred myself was returned.
I kept in contact with PETtrac & vice vers, they kept in contact with me via email during the hours he was missing, to ask for an update and were very quick to respond via emails.
They were very helpful and the actual person I spoke to initially "Ellen" came across as very kind, caring and concerned. Not just a 'log it missing procedure' on their database.
Seriously considering transferring all my other pets over to PETtrac now, who are under a different microchip company, as this experience with them has inspired confidence should one of them ever go missing again! Heavens forbid!

I asked PETtrac the difference in dates…
I asked PETtrac the difference in dates regarding my African Grey Parrot stating the parrot was born 10 yrs after it was implanted Date 06/12/1995 and DOB 10/09/2005 which I just found out when I was changing my Address. How can this show such an error and not be noticed at the time of issuing the certificate

As discussed, it looks as though the date of birth had been registered incorrectly in 2010 at the time of the microchip being registered to you, however this was amended 4 days later and has been registered with the year of 1995 since then.
When you have contacted us recently to update your address, it sounds as though you had to hand the original paperwork that was issued with the incorrect date of birth on.
I am sorry if this was not made clear at the time of you updating your details with us.

Excellent Customer Service
I register microchips with Pettrac for two foreign dog rescue charities and I regularly have to contact their lovely customer services team for help. Everyone in the team is so friendly and helpful, extremely knowledgeable and nothing is ever too much trouble. Something which is really important to me is the fact they always respond very quickly to enquiries. I really value the wonderful service which they provide and wouldn’t use anyone else.

Excellent 5* Company.
We are a sighthound rescue and, as such, deal with many microchip companies. I can honestly say that PetTrac is the best of all. Always courteous and helpful. Dogs are registered quickly and easily. Their service is excellent. I only wish the other chip companies were half as efficient and capable as PetTrac are.

I am a trained microchip implanter and a qualified veterinary nurse so have had 20+ years of dealing with different database companies and i can honestly say that PETrac are one of the best I have dealt with. Ben is always very quick to reply and help with any questions that I have and is super friendly to deal with both other the phone and via email.

Total service failure
I teach Service Marketing at the University of Exeter. I am going to develop my experience with this dreadful outfit into a full blown case study. After 26 days I am no nearer getting my dog’s micro chip transferred to me. This company is (1) unhelpful (2) utterly disinterested (3) non-customer focussed (4) incompetent. Along with the Royal Mail they must rank as one of the worst organizations in the Western Hemisphere.

As discussed, I am sorry for the frustration caused. We pride ourselves on providing efficient and high quality customer service, so I am sorry if you felt let down during this process.
Hopefully I have been able to explain the delay in the transfer process being completed as we are yet to receive the confirmation back from the previous keeper to authorise the change of details. As advised we are taking additional measures to try and chase this up but if we don't receive this, the transfer will be completed after the 28 days.
We take your feedback on board and will continue to try and improve our services moving forward.

Easy site
When I brought my 3 dogs they all had been registered to different microchip companies (prior to me owning them).
I had trouble with someone finding out my accounts and had dissolved my details on them. So I sporadically now check up and make sure all the details are correct. I have been able to update details (change of address etc) and find this company and website very easy to navigate with no problems.
In this day and age I love that everything can be done efficiently online and not have to phone up and chase the company.

Apologies if you were not made aware of the charge for changing the microchip across to our database from another. To confirm this charge is just for the transfer over to our database and there are no monthly or annual fees for the registration of the microchip on the 24hr PETtrac Database.
If you need to make any changes to your telephone numbers in the future this can be completed with us free of charge and there is only a small fee for a full change of address if you were to move.

Great Service
PETtrac were amazing when transferring ownership of my dog. I had filled out the forms and sent by post, a few days later I got an email for payment and that was it. Could not be more simple. Thank you for everything.

Called into the customer support centre to update details. Telephone agent John was a superstar! He was friendly, efficient, and even gave advice on what to expect having updated these details, and how I could make future updates online should it be more convenient for me to do so. Fantastic experience!

Bought my puppy of a friend which was…
Bought my puppy off a friend which was registered with petTrac. My other dog is with another company and that was instantly transferred, not this time ! Up to 28 days ! So you pay a fee (didn't last time ) which is fine but 4 weeks to transfer! My friend received a letter but when phoning today 3 weeks after I paid the transfer fee they tell me they have recieved nothing when I know it was posted back. Its a terrible service. Then told if they don't hear anything by the 25th of this month then it will transfer automatically. Plz if you have a choice go with another service provider! Avoid!

Many thanks for your review. I am sorry that you are unhappy with the service.
Unfortunately the microchip cannot be instantly transferred online without verifying with the current registered keeper. When attempting to contact them, we do allow a period of up to 28 days for the current registered keeper to get back to us just in case they were away or uncontactable sooner and they did need to flag with us any issue before changing the microchip over. However, if after this time we have yet to hear back from them, the transfer would be completed. This is only required on the assumption that we have not already received written evidence to support the change of keeper and as soon as we have this or authorisation from the registered keeper directly, this process will be completed.
Please be aware that during this period, PETtrac does hold the details of the new keeper just in case anything were to happen to the animal during this time before the transfer has officially been completed.
I am guessing that for whatever reason, we have yet to receive the written authorisation from the current registered keeper. We do accept this in the post or attached to an email, so I am not sure which method they have sent this to us and the reason why it has not been received.
I would be happy to look into this for you to by making further contact with the current registered keeper to offer an alternative way to provide the authorisation. If you are able to email updates@pettrac.co.uk with the subject ' Trustpilot - FAO Ben' with your pet's microchip number, I will get on this for you right away.
