I placed an order with BOOTS who use CEWE The ordering process was not clearly defined and I suffered as a consequence of this.
I purchased an aluminium sheet to have a digital photo design printed onto it. Never tried this before. It is a black and white image I created, of my son, who has passed and my grandchild. I wanted it to be a matt print. This seemed like the perfect contemporary solution.
Wrongly, I had assumed it would come with a backing attached, at least something to hang it up with, so early hours Monday morning, around 3am, (couldn't sleep) I placed this very personal order.
During the order process, there is an extra box to be ticked, I had not realised this and consequently missed it. It's the option for a backing frame.
I discovered my error the same morning, Monday, after reviewing my order, waited a few hours until opening time and called immediately. I called Boots and then called Cewe directly.
I asked if I could add to my order and pay extra, to have a backing frame placed onto the aluminium sheet, I was told NO, as the order had started and now could not be changed!!!! No flexibility for what would be a very easy add on after the order was printed!! This would not affect the ordering process.!!! Bear in mind, this additional amendment to the order, was asked only a few hours after I had placed the order! This was an expensive order too!
I asked then, could they sell me the backing frame separately so I could attach it later. They said NO!!! I asked what options were there, as I needed to hang this up!! Remember this is a sheet of metal, and I had no idea what else I could use to get it hanging on the wall!!! THEY OFFERED NO HELP, NO SOLUTIONS, OR ALTERNATIVES.....
Granted, my error for not realising, but a company that refuses to adapt an order a few hours after the order was placed, for a process that can only be added after printing, is abysmal!!!!
I ended up searching for hours on end for a service that could help, not knowing what the backing frame was made off; technical names used; what type of supplier creates these; or if suppliers were going to be UK or globally based... I just new I had spent alot of money creating a very sensitive, precious order of my son - has taken me 4 years to find the strength to do this - and now, I did not know if I was going to be able to hang it up!!!! I was frantic!!!
I eventually found Picture World Hanging Store! They charge far less than what Cewe charges to add the backing frame!! I wrote after work hours and they replied immediately!!! They explained, materials used, how to click sections into place, and attach it onto the back of the aluminium sheet. The backing frame comes with the stickers attached!! It is essential to add a backing frame to stop the aluminum warping over time. It gives it added strength and of course.....a way to hang it! I provided my bespoke measurements and they cut it to size for me!

You are an absolute Godsend!!!! It took 10 minutes to put on and arrived in 2 days.....my aluminium frame on the other hand, arrived a week later than the time frame given. I was left chasing the status of that too!!!! Thankyou, Thankyou....THANKYOU!!!!! From the bottom of my heart ❤️

I paid for 2 sets of 10Nr hanging brackets and only received one set of 10. I have contacted the company and asked them to correct their error. I will revisit the review once I have received the complete order. At the moment I am not happy with my experience with this company. Update: The company responded promptly and forwarded the brackets not included in the first delivery. Upgraded to 5 stars
