Attempted to play “ The Betrayal” last night. The whole thing was utterly incomprehensible, one of the most obscure, over priced escape games we have ever played. A complete waste of money.

I feel like this was completed with AI. There are logic steps missing for some of the puzzles and sometimes difficult to discern what the outcome was supposed to be even if we were 80% of the way there.

AI slop and poor puzzles.
Puzzle uses ai generated content for many images and all audio, making many things unclear and confusing. Puzzles overall are poorly designed and unintuitive due to red herrings that are correct and no details on what to do with codes when you find them (ie what to do with 4 3 3 9, add them or keep them?? no Byinstruction given). The resolution to the story is a crappy ai generated video with no real pay off.

We’ve done a couple of the escape room…
We’ve done a couple of the escape room in an envelope games and really like them. The last one we did had a piece missing, disaster right? Nope, they have a clever online system that gave us what we needed and then customer service automatically got in touch to apologise for the inconvenience and offer a good will gesture. They went above and beyond, great company

Disappointed in the AI
The blatant AI artwork and copy cheapened and ruined the experience which was a shame! There are so many festival artwork designers who could have done this job and avoided the ChatGPT vibe :( I can see elsewhere that they’ve said no AI was used in the making of the game mechanics but the creative is just as important to the experience!

I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the artwork and copy in The Secret Set. I believe another member of your group reached out to us via email - I've responded to them directly and I'll pass on this feedback to the rest of the team.
We definitely don't want our games to feel like a 'cheap' experience - our team put a lot of hard work into the process from idea to production - so it's disappointing to hear that that's the impression you were left with. I completely agree that the creative is just as important to the experience!
Over the past year, we've invested in growing our product team with three new hires. They're the talented people behind all of the new games we've been bringing out over the last 6-12 months and everything that we've got in the pipeline.
As a small business, we are constantly trying out new ideas, tools and ways of working. We're also listening to feedback like this from our customers and adapting our approach, as we have done by changing how we do and don't use AI.

A great addition to a special gift
This looked a great idea to add a little something different to a gift. I haven't given the gift yet, so can't comment on the puzzle. However the packaging is beautiful and gives me every confidence that the puzzle will make the birthday that little bit more exciting!

Perfect for games night!
I played The Betrayal game with friends when we had a games night recently and it was so good!! The story was really fun and the clues were just the right amount of challenging. We finished it in just over an hour and all loved it, definitely recommend!

Enjoyable, but lacking..
We enjoyed playing the Sabotage game. The puzzles are the right level of difficulty for teens or adults.
We did find the story behind the puzzles a bit lacking though. The thin narrative is that you complete the puzzles to get into an email inbox.
We also found the result and conclusion a bit underwhelming. Ultimately we thought this was a bit of a wasted opportunity.

I have to say from the start I thought the idea is amazing and well thought up!
I bought betrayal for my daughter as a birthday gift and I know she will love it.

Great Date Night in or Game Night with Friends
This puzzle was so fun to do! My husband and I made it a date night in kind of deal. The clues were challenging, some a bit outside the box, but nothing that someone couldn't come up with if they thought about things in the right way. (we did not use hints for this game)
I love the variety in clues and puzzles and how it connected with the story. The only thing that would have made this better was to have some of the clues inter-connect, as in maybe you had to reference back to a clue to complete another one. There were also a couple of small quirks like certain words in ALL CAPS that we made note of but weren't actually clues. Maybe this was meant to throw us off? Not sure. Overall I'd do another puzzle from this company and recommend to my friends and family.

Arrived really fast
Arrived really fast, had a family party with “The Sabotage”, it was hard and challenging but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Will be ordering more, well done puzzle post, something different!
