There's no better website for rail enthusiasts, it is operated BY enthusiasts FOR enthusiasts, however, I know for certain it is often used by 'the professionals' (the REAL railway) at times .
Real time cameras, data, real time signalling diagrams and a well informed chat room (more 'experts' than you can point a stick at !) .
If you live backing on to, or have a view of, railway lines why not offer to host a camera... have a look at the site even if you're only mildly interested in railways. however, a warning.. it is addictive !
Well worth a look.. well worth the subscription to access all the info, data, chat and cams .

With over 100 different cameras across the UK, Railcam is by far the go to website when it comes to watching trains from the comfort of your home, very useful and definitely worth the money, would highly recommend to anyone to likes trains

Railcam is a great resource for all railway enthusiasts. A large number of webcams at various locations, track and signalling diagrams for the whole UK network and much much more. Plus a great and knowledgeable community to share with.

Nonexistent customer service and sheer incompetence. Any positive reviews come from a captive audience with no choice. This organisation is unfit to run these cameras and should be replaced as soon as possible.

As I see more and more webcams taken offline I cannot help wondering if Railcam is the worst thing that ever happened to UKs webcams. In the name of making money, in my opinion we are losing the ability to enjoy some of this countries most wonderful sites as gradually Railcam takes them off line and makes people pay to see some of Britains wonders. To all those wonderful private historical rail lines I would say do not sell out because in the long run you will lose hundreds of visitors because they can no longer view your wonderful cams.

Decent site just struggling to get an answer or any help regarding youtube and the live chat. Recently they've added a sampler steam to youtube along with a few other camers. It's perfect. I do wish they'd add all of them to youtube, (putting the paid ones under a paid membership or something) I can't view their website on a smart tv.

My husband and I were very excited for our festive Christmas Afternoon Tea.
First negativity was being booked on the 2.50pm, we got an email to say this would be delayed by 20 minutes.
We were them emailed to be told to arrive a good half hour before.
This was poorly planned advise as the FREE car park was full of the incoming train passengers. So we had to park a ling way up the road. This was a problem because I was having a bad asthmatic day.
Next the horror of a large over crowded loud flapping marquee, purely build to up sell drinks and toys. All very disappointing.
But at exactly 3.57pm just as it was getting dark the steam train tool off.
Tea was served - to be honest - a tea of two halves. The savoury was actually pretty good and freshly home made but the sweet side was so dry and processed. Frankly for £150 we just felt ripped off.
The train journey was long and slow with little to see other than pitch darkness.
What a waste of precious time just before Christmas.

Whilst on lockdown RailCam allowed me to follow my passion for railways. I'm eternally thankful to them for that and will continue to be a greatful subscriber.

Banned my account because I accidently swore, tried to get information on how long it would be until my account was unbanned (If its permement for swearing then that's a joke, a simple email reminding you not to swear would be better) was just told that it was up to the Youtube guys... Not good enough, the Youtube guys need to communicate better with the guys who email then. Not sure what I have to do to appologise for swearing but I will if I can have my account unbanned, it's been over a month now.

The cams are brilliant. Loads of cams in interesting locations. I can trainspot all day and never leave home. The diagrams are invaluable to track the progress of unusual trains so you can see them on the cams. Well worth the annual subscription. Great value for your money.

The associated chat is something else. The oddest, most unwelcoming chat I’ve ever encountered. A clique of regulars and mods talk among themselves and resent being interrupted by newbies wanting information about actual trains. The mods enforce the rules ruthlessly, even trying to control the private lives of the members, which is weird and creepy.

BUT … if you ignore the toxic chat (don’t even open it) this is a great site for railfans.

Where do I start, I have been a supporter member since the 13092014 and enjoyed every bit of it since I retired in May 2017 and still enjoy looking at the cams, sometimes I do use the chat, but when I used it I got told off by one of the admins and never went back to chat, don’t get me wrong here the administrators are there to keep control of the chat room they do a good job. Chat is a good for information , the only downfall with it, is the chatters sometimes talk about football still think that this should kept for emails, it does say in the rules, anyway still love watching the cams and taking photographs and posting on railcams facebook page. Before I joined I was never interested in trains and now it’s like a library in one of rooms with all the train books. Railcam please could we have more cams in Scotland and also Railcam keep up the good work as it is worth every single pound.

Aweful. Arrogant. Intimidating. — Lacking any skills at customer relations. Issues don't get resolved due to lack of technical skills or will to resolve them. Only message: "Subscribe to our fantastic service." Hell no, worst customer experience ever.

Been a member since 2014,and loved every minute of this great site,Gives me everything I need to know.
Run by a great team of Admins who are always on hand if any problems pop up

Railcam is by far the best site you will find for live cameras on the railway. Live diagrams are an added bonus and now they even have their own merchandise too which is fantastic value for money.

Excellent , well managed, informative, accurate, brilliant camera locations, and getting even better.

View railway cameras all over England, and Scotland, plus VERY good track diagrams. Very well worth the subscription fee to view all cameras (some are free on YouTube.
As an aside I use the cameras to get an idea of the real weather conditions around the country.

Terrible and rude admin and pathetic nicknames for trains. A large number of cameras don't work and constant football chat. Also very expensive. US version is free.
