Hornby Rebel sport.
Hornby Rebel sport are without a doubt the worst Rebel sport to deal with.
Staff do not have any knowledge of products on offer. They are very obvious that they dont want to be there and couldnt care less.
It starts at the top and the manager would have the personality of a lettuce.
I have never written a review like this before, i even waited a couple of days so I wasn't angry anymore. On searching online you can get a better deal with Amazon. Will not be back.

Received shoes in poor condition
I placed an online order on the Rebel Sport NZ website from Auckland and it was automatically sent to the Whangarei store to fulfil as I presume there was no stock available in Auckland.
I received this email: Your Rebel
Whangarei (Web) delivery is on its way.
I received my online order today from the Whangarei store and I am very disappointed to find that the shoes have arrived in poor condition. There was no tissue paper inside the shoes or box, no tags attached, and they show clear signs of wear. Including, visible creasing, hair inside, messy laces, and peeling or detached stickers.
It is clear the shoes were not sent in a new, saleable condition. I expected to receive a brand new product, as is standard when ordering online, but unfortunately, this is not the case. Due to hygiene concerns, I am unable to try on the shoes or wear them.
Additionally, the T-shirt I ordered was placed inside the shoe box, and the fabric does not match the description on your website. It was advertised as 75% Cotton, 25% Recycled Cotton, but the T-shirt I received contains Polyester, which I cannot wear due to a skin allergy to synthetic materials.

If you do not have sufficient stock on your online store, you should not advertise the product as in stock online, as it will be sent to one of your stores to fulfil where staff will carelessly send whatever they can regardless of whether the product is in satisfactory condition or not. No attempt was made at making the shoes look even somewhat presentable in the box, such as removing the hair, tidying the laces and detached stickers. It looks like the shoes were thrown into the box and sent to me. These are not clearance products either so I expect better.
Due to this experience, to avoid this issue, I will not be ordering from Rebel Sport NZ again.

I bought a pair of football boots from Rebel Sport, and unfortunately, I’m really disappointed. After just a few games, the boots started falling apart, with the sole coming loose and visible wear way too soon for the price I paid
PR lies
Cancelled my order and said they would honour the price for a similar item. Turns out this was just lip service as they will only honour similarly priced items and one's not on clearance which left a grand total of ZERO out of the 9 similar items which they could replace it with. Waste my time

Ordered a pair of runners online
Ordered a pair of runners online. Left and right are 2 different sizes on the labels on shoe but rebel have labeled the larger 1 as same size as other.
Huge rigmarole returning it as I live rural offgrid. And I'm told a replacement could take up to 14days. I needed to use them last week when I received them! (Only got around to contacting them today on following Monday.)
When I suggested leaving them for courier at the postshop at nearest town there seemed alot of confusion and I was asked to go find that address (too hard for them?) or I could call them back when I had that detail. Or just pay to send back myself.
They wanted to pick up from the main house which I don't live at and is difficult to get to.
I have bad anxiety issues and this doesn't help. Wouldn't recommend rebel and will not use again. They stuffed up and I seem to be the one running around to fix it. Not even a "Sorry about that".
Have asked for a refund not replacement.

Online purchases thru rebel sport are very unreliable and follow up customer support is non-existent. Their staff are not interested in being helpful. I suggest shopping at another retailer.
Possible change in management leading to disaster
I'm not sure what's going on at RS, but the standards have dropped DRAMATICALLY. In the last 3 months, I've received dirty, pre-used orders twice and then had to take them back to a store physically. One of the items had visible grease stains. I've had no apology, no compensation, nothing.
I also received an essay-long email from an ops manager explaining why an item was out of stock, only not to specify what they were discussing in the first place. It was bizzarre.
Please check the intelligence levels of the people you hire in future.
A ruined christmas wish
I placed an order with Rebel Sport on December 2, hoping it would arrive well before Christmas. After a week of radio silence, I checked the tracking details on Aramex, which strangely showed the package as delivered—even though I hadn't received anything. Attempts to reach Aramex were futile, as the phone either rang endlessly or disconnected.
When I contacted Rebel Sport about the discrepancy, they eventually provided a “proof of delivery” photo that was clearly not my home—or even in the same suburb. Over two weeks later, still waiting on a Christmas gift, I spent hours going back and forth with Rebel Sport while Aramex remained unreachable.
Then, Aramex left me a voicemail claiming my package was in their warehouse. Calling the new number they provided was a challenge in itself—I was redirected overseas and had to repeat my tracking number countless times. Finally, Aramex assured me it would ship in time for Christmas.
On December 21, Rebel Sport emailed to say the item was suddenly “lost in the warehouse” and that I would be refunded. It felt like they realized they wouldn’t be able to deliver on time and simply labeled it “lost” to avoid the hassle. Sadly, there was no Christmas gift for my child and, days later, no refund has appeared.
This has been an incredibly frustrating experience. The lack of communication from Aramex and the slow response from Rebel Sport turned what should have been a straightforward purchase into a drawn-out ordeal. I’m still out of pocket, have no product, and have wasted countless hours trying to sort this out.
Sadly I hadn't read the reviews here to know about the similar experiences, I would have never ordered from them given they used Aramex, but that aside the fact they did nothing to 'do the right thing' for the customer is just appalling. Now it's back on me to chase them for my refund, which they haven't issued even though they said they did last week.

Been to store twice and disappointed both the times...the staff need to understand customers-sales- job- salary all are directly proportional.

Will never order online or even in-store again. Terrible service and apparently, Rebel sport advertises products it may no longer stock and will not communicate it when it is unavailable and are completely ok with misleading the public. When it goes tits up, don't expect any empathy from customer service staff either. No wonder the ratings are awful. I look forward to your stores closing up and going out of business!!
Shit service
Shit service. Disregarded that my ball needed pumping. Products are great service is appalling. I get that you can have an off day but 2 weeks in a row and not acknowledging customers or carrying on convo with what seemed like the only other staff in store behind the counter while scanning our purchases is a service that can be replaced with self checkout like the supermarkets. Don’t want to start with online shopping either !

Do not order anything online so long as they're still using Aramex!!! The headache of trying to get your parcel delivered through those criminals is not worth it. Seriously, look at all the bad reviews Aramex has with the same fraudulent issues being constantly raised by customers. Those guys need investigating! If you're reading this Rebel Sport, I beg you please use another courier.

Order shin guards online said they had the size in Christchurch then no emails to say Pick up ring up to find out that the out of stock and it was coming from Wellington went on there sight there's none available, so now not sure if the coming at all,email 3xs same answers..nothing, if I knew this would be the case I'd never of brought from this company, don't buy online with them,think I'll cancel my order and shop elsewhere as I feel the take weeks to come and the needed now.

Do not order online with them. No Comms not tracking number. Try and reach out to them and get auto reply that there is a 5 day wait for response. Got to Player Sports or any other sports store.
Disbelieved over missing product by customer service
I ordered online two foot compression sleeves to collect in Store at Rebel Sport in New Plymouth. I went in store to collect foot compression sleeves but only one was supplied. So I informed the checkout operator that a foot compression sleeve was missing and he assured me that they would send the other one to the store. I was never contacted by Rwbel Sport so I emailed the customer service team. They said my order was completed and that I had collected it which was incorrect. So I continued to send emails stating this was not the case having only collected one compression sleeve.
But the customer service team continued to disbelieve me. So in frustration I went in store to Rebel Sport in New Plymouth and spoke to the store manager. After battling with the customer service team I was most grateful she believed me and completed the order by taking a foot compression sleeve from stock for me.
