Deceptive and threatening behaviour.

They did not give the appropriate and relevant information but just keen to get your signature on the agreement. They threatened me to sign the completion otherwise refused to remove the scaffolding and commission the system. Despite many emails and phone calls the installation is still not completed and checked to satisfaction. They mentioned items as been installed without actually installing them. With the 11 penals installed I am not getting even one kwh generation. I will be taking the matter further. Be careful.

Hi Raj,

Your system was fully installed and working at the time of the request to sign the satisfaction note.
Unfortunately, you expected us to be able to dismantle your scaffolding on the same day as the solar system was installed, which is logistically impractical, given the large volume of other scaffolding work our partners have to do.
Your system is installed across 3 roof aspects, meaning that, in winter months, it's output will be more impacted than a single south facing roof, for example. This is why your system generation is currently quite low.

I have reviewed your monitoring, and can see the system is fully up and running, including an overnight charge setting you have implemented. As such, you are currently being powered purely by your solar & battery system at the time of writing this reply.
After reviewing your contract, I can also see that everything that you ordered has been installed however, If you have any specific concerns, please reach out via email or phone call.

Misleading sales process, non‑intelligent system, and no ownership after installation

I am extremely disappointed with my experience.
The Duracell battery system sold and installed at my property does not function as an intelligent energy system. There is no real automation or smart optimisation – everything has to be configured and managed manually. This is very different from how it is presented during the sales process.
The salesperson who visits your home markets the product extremely well and explicitly claims it is better than a Tesla battery. This is simply not true. Tesla batteries genuinely operate as intelligent systems; this Duracell system does not. I feel these claims are misleading and create completely unrealistic expectations.
When issues arose after installation, the installer refused to take responsibility, denied support requests, and rejected any discussion around replacement. Instead, I was told the system was “working as expected” and that any issues should be taken up with Duracell directly — despite the fact that the product was purchased and installed through the installer, not Duracell.
Duracell themselves have confirmed that responsibility lies with the installer. However, no ownership has been taken, no meaningful support provided, and no resolution offered — only refusals and redirection.
There is a clear lack of transparency, accountability, and customer care once the sale is completed. I would strongly advise anyone considering this system to do extensive independent research and not rely on verbal promises made during the sales visit.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product or the company involved.

Your statement that “while you can set manual charge and discharge times via the app, this is not required if you need to charge or discharge the system outside of tariff automation” is incorrect. I left the system running with no manual inputs, and the following day was completely cloudy and rainy. Despite this, the system did not automatically recharge overnight, which contradicts what your team advised.
Additionally, my expectation was to receive a product superior to Tesla’s, as this is precisely what your sales agents emphasise when persuading customers. Unfortunately, this claim appears misleading, as the system does not deliver the functionalities that were presented during the sales process. This is not in line with fair‑trade principles, particularly regarding accurate representation of product capabilities and honest sales practices.

Hi Paolo,

Your Duracell system has integration with a wide variety of time of use tariffs, and yours is currently set to "Octopus - Flux" for your postcode area in it's settings.

This will allow your system to manage itself, and charge and discharge at times beneficial to yourself automatically, based on the tariff you have selected.

While you can set manual charge and discharge times via the app, in the event that you need to charge and/or discharge your system outside of the tariff automation, this is not required.

While Tesla offers a more advanced and expansive automatic tariff management system, Duracell's functionality is similar, and being expanded regularly through software updates. the overall costs of a Tesla Power Wall system are also significantly higher than a Duracell Energy system, so it's not a particularly fair comparison.

We have worked in partnership with Duracell to enroll you specifically on an advanced version of the Duracell Energy software, allowing greater levels of control and a wider selection of tariff set ups, in order to address your concerns.

Your expectation to be "swapped out" for a far more costly Tesla Power Wall system is entirely unrealistic and disproportionate to address your dissatisfaction, and we have advised you to reach out to our dispute resolution service HIES, in order to allow them to review the issue for you, free of charge

Solar panel, tesla power wall and EV changer

I have recently completed the installation of 12 solar panels, a Tesla Powerwall, and a Tesla EV charger with Rest UK.

I am very satisfied with the service provided. The installers were excellent, completed all works within the agreed timeframe, and assisted with the system setup. They also coordinated well with other works taking place at my property and completed everything as requested.

The sales consultant, Ahmed Shafiq, was very helpful throughout the process and worked closely with me to deliver a solution that met our requirements and expectations. Ahmed was accommodating and made changes to the product specification at our request, at no additional cost, prior to installation.

I am happy to recommend Rest UK to anyone considering solar panels, battery storage, and an EV charger.

Smooth process from sales to installation

From start to finish, my experience with REST was excellent. Pete handled the sales side professionally and clearly, answering all my questions without any pressure and making sure everything was set up properly from day one.

Habib carried out the solar panel and battery installation, and the standard of his work was outstanding. The wiring was incredibly clean and tidy — easily the best I’ve seen — and everything was installed with real attention to detail.

What really stood out was the aftercare. Habib was always available when I needed support and happy to explain things properly. A smooth, stress-free process with great people involved. I’d highly recommend REST.

Smooth Installation, but Customer Guidance Needs Improvementest solar installation was smooth…

The Rest solar installation was smooth and straightforward, and I am happy with their work. Where I struggled was understanding how the solar system works, especially the paperwork. I think they should make this easier by clearly explaining how the system works and guiding customers to the right channels and providers.

My experience with this company has been the absolute worst

My experience with this company has been unacceptable. My mother tried to cancel an order, and the team pushed for extra payment instead of handling the issue properly. Their customer service was poor, and the whole process caused stress and frustration. I plan to pursue a refund of the £250 agreement fee because I was told it would be returned if we were not satisfied. Based on what happened, I advise others to approach this company with caution.

Highly recommend the service

We have had our 18 solar panels from REST for just over a year now and we couldn’t be happier. My monthly electricity bill has come down by 60% and we are about to get a repayment for energy exported to the grid for over £200. Saving money while doing our bit for the environment makes for a sound investment. Sales, planning and installation was all professional and easy and we highly recommend the service.
