Awful Customer Service

We got solar panels fitted on the 4th of November 2024 and it has been very good over the past nearly 6 months. The sales representative - Somia was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The fitting was absolutely fine and we have had no issues with the panels since.

The reason for the low rating is the customer service of this company. It was absolutely awful! The scaffolding needed to fit the solar panels interfered with our sky satellite and we were reassured that as soon as the panels were fitted the scaffolding would come down. The solar panel fitting was on a Monday and took all day so we thought someone would come to take it down the next day. When nobody came and I had no contact from REST re someone coming, I called customer service but they only take calls between 10am and 2pm, within which they have staff briefing at 11am so will not take calls. I was on hold for the whole 4 hours and had to try again the next day where again I was "position 1" for about 30 minutes before I hung up and called the sales team. The call was answered almost immediately and I was informed of the staff briefing in the middle of the only times they have their phone lines open and that it is in the contract that the scaffolding may stay up for upto 4 weeks after fitting. This was not explained and it certainly did not state anything about interfering with pre-existing paid services. I went on to say that if they are willing to pay the sky subscription fee for the month we cannot get it due to the scaffolding then fine but if they do not want to pay then to get someone out to take it down or I will get someone to do it myself. It seems they told the scaffolding people pretty quickly after that to come take it down and it was sorted by the 9th of November. I did ask for the contractor's number to make sure as well.

All in all the solar panels themselves have been great and there have been no issues so far so I would definitely recommend REST for the solar panels; however the customer service is shocking and I would tell anyone going with REST to call the sales team over the customer service team if they have any problems and want to talk to someone.

Research and you'll see REST are the BEST

REST came recommended to me from a colleague and they did not disappoint. From start to end they were incredible. Having worked with many companies involved in home construction and renovation they are by far the best.

I was really impressed with Saif who is very knowledgable on the PV market, I found him honest and respectful and ultimately at the end I felt I had the best deal and package possible (after getting numerous alternative quotes). They include insurances and cover you don't get from most competitors, and they offer 500W panels which I also found few and far between.

The installation team was amazing too, a massive thank you to Habib, Connor and Tom. Who despite our slightly tricky roof tiles provided the best service and left us with smiles on our faces.

I'm already recommending them to friends and family and considering another battery to add sooner than I first planned!

Good system and install but none existent after sales support.

REST installed a twenty panel solar system plus 10kW batteries over a year ago and the system has generated 4754kW in that time so happy with electrical generation considering the system is not South facing. The install went really well with the team driving up from Margate and completing the install in a day, the install team were very professional and worked late to complete the task.
Now the disappointing part, the after install support is really poor and I say this for several reasons.
A couple months after installation I requested information about adding two additional batteries and the possibility of moving a couple of panels to a sunnier location, think I received three emails of less than thirty words in total so no effort or interest from REST.
My next request was to quote to install an override switch in case of a power cut to the house, we found out if mains power is cut due to power outage the battery system switches off. A switch can be added to isolate the house from mains supply that allows limited power supplied by the batteries. In hindsight REST should have mentioned this when developing the system as I think most people would install the switch from day one, once again the REST response to the request was minimal.
Then to add insult to injury I received a call from REST following up on my initial request to quote a solar system, at this point I explained REST had installed a solar system already and that there after system support after install was none existent. The young lady apologised and passed me to her manager who also apologised for the miscommunication and promised me one of the engineers would call me the next day. After six months I am still waiting for the follow up.
Am genuinely happy with system and would try to add and improve the system if supported by REST. Am located in Maidenhead and REST have limited capability for follow up work in my area, if it is a system install that is supported.
REST only goal is to achieve the initial system sale and install then you are basically on your own.

Deceitful company from start to end

Deceitful company from start to end. They use illegal selling tactics, promising you a discount if you sign there and then. They started work much later than promised and caused some damage to my plant by walking on the garden disrespectfully and without care. In the end they left the place in a mess, leaving a lot of rubbish behind, which I had to clear by putting it little by little into the normal house waste. They were rude on the phone when I made a point about it. Will never use this company again and hope no one else will. They don't deserve it.

I recently had a solar battery…

I recently had a solar battery installation by REST. The chap I first talked, Simon, was very helpful, polite and patient with me. The installation went perfectly, and the guys did a brilliant job. I am very happy with the service and the standard of work completed at my home, and I can immiediately see the benefits in my electiricty usuage. REST Solar Panel System

We contacted REST and Daryl visited to survey the property and talk us through the solar panel, inverter and battery installation. He was very helpful in explaining the system and its installation, financing options and potential savings over time. The system offered seemed to be a very competitive price using decent products. Daryl was very helpful and polite and not pushy, a credit to his company.

Installation process was a bit iffy. Cables were a day late arriving so the commissioning was delayed, some rubbish was left behind, which was not a real problem.
I have been waiting a week or so for certificates to be able to sell to the grid, I do not know if this is normal or not.

Nicest guy in company

Just had a call from a young man called Tom. I got to say normally I don't take calls from companies trying to sell me something but this guy is a credit to the company. He's such a lovely guy. Given he's professional approach and friendly manner I would employ this guy at a drop of a hat . Even agreed to a sales call for some battery storage

Perfect experience from start to finish

We had been thinking of getting solar for a few years but always put it off but this year we decided to dive into it and see what the benefits were. We had visits from 3 solar companies and we are so glad we chose REST!

It started off with a short phone call to arrange an appointment, even though we had to reschedule last minute, they were very understanding and managed to squeeze us in the day after. We had a visit from David, who was extremely polite and professional, he had no problems answering all of our questions and concerns. A special mention to Hassan, who provided great communication and kept us updated throughout the process. We also couldn’t fault the installation team, they were efficient and cleaned up after themselves and so far, the after sale service has been seamless.

We would definitely recommend REST, in terms of service and product quality, there’s no one better!
