Ronseal Avis 

I wrote to customers services regarding two safety issues regarding the 9lt plastic containers of fence paint.
Their biggest concern was worrying if I was going to make a claim!
Also I could not find on your website a tab for customer services.

Ronseal Fence Life plus. Horrible runny paint that leaves an ugly streaky finish. I’ve given my shed five coats so far to try and make the finish look less ugly. If the sixth coat doesn’t do it then I will sand it back and use a decent product. Don’t waste your money on this green water.

I have a lot of fencing and some of them need patching up ,but I was unable to find RONSEAL FENCE LIFE COUNTRY OAK anywhere locally? I emailed the firm to ask why, and they informed me that they had discontinued ``country oak`` and they kindly sent me this Trustpilot link in the following line, At Ronseal, we’re always looking to improve and ensure we do ‘Exactly what it says on the tin’. Sadly in this this instance I am unable to purchase a tin in the first place which is very annoying! I am going to have to change colour and have to repaint the whole lot! I might change brand now, why should Ronseal benefit at my expense!

10 year woodstain breaks down in less than a year, five months of which was under cover out of the weather. Customer Services response to my complaint was that basically it was all my fault due to light sanding the brand new seating only where it was needed, not the entire surface. Also i covered it with a huge purpose made bag that allowed loads of ventilation by only lying on the arms and back, but this somehow allowed condensation to permeate the three coat of ten year woodstain and cause mould stains !!! All this was apparently not the fault of the ten year woodstain but my fault all along!!! I shouldn't have bothered and certainly won't in the future, because I won't be using Ronseal ever again, preferring to use Furniture Clinics Wood Sealer, Preserver & Protector - 5L and I urge you to do the same. PS despite the reply below, I'm still waiting. Some four weeks later and I am happy to say that the issue as now been resolved with an amicable agreement.

Called to enquire about a spare part for my fence sprayer, and was very happy to hear my part would be sent free of charge. Excellent customer service, well done.

The fence paint is coming off after a few months . We had a professional painter who done everything right. But ronseal will blame anything at all to get out of their responsibility . Look at other reviews on Facebook rubbish product

Do not waste your money! I bought the ronseal liming wax and honestly for the difference it's made I may as well have painted milk on the wood for a hell of a lot cheaper. Absolutely shocking products, second and last time I buy this brand!

The Ronseal customer service team responded promptly to my query. I was disappointed to get confirmation the the colour I wanted was discontinued but at least they could advise on the best match from the continuing range.

I purchased a tube of Ronseal Multi purpose Dark Ready mixed Paste Wood Filler from B&Q. I got it home and cut off the end where it is to come out from. I squeezed and squeezed, nothing came out but then when I looked at the tube, it had split in the seam at the top. I took it back to B&Q for a refund and found on the shelf most of these other tube containers, had also split. One had even been taped up! Surely this will affect the contents if air has already got in there.
This product is useless in its present container.

If I could give the product (chalky paint) and the customer service a combined score of 0 I would.
We bought chalky furniture paint for cupboard doors, and couldn’t get any sort of coverage that wasn’t patchy and a mess. Don’t buy this product.
I wrote to customer service who basically patronised me and said the wood and the application was at fault and I couldn’t have possibly put enough paint on the door (my decorator painted it in 4 coats)
I won’t be using any of their furniture paint again. And definitely wouldn’t recommend it. Instead my decorator used a Zinsser product, which I thoroughly recommend.

I moved into my current flat five years ago, and unfortunately the stove area did not have tiles, just freshly painted walls by the landlord. As I cook quite often, I was concerned about how long the walls would stay clean.
A few years earlier, I had purchased the interior varnish matt finish for some craft projects. I thought it might work well to protect the walls around the stove and save me from having to repaint them regularly. At the time, I assumed it would only last for a short while.
However, I’m amazed to say that after five years, it is still as good as the first day. Despite constant cooking, sauce splashes, oil, degreaser, and cleaning products like Cif, it continues to protect the walls perfectly.
This product is truly incredible.

Quick service, clear response to my query

5 year fence paint has come off after only 1 year. The excuse...I didn't sand down the panels first!! Ridiculous excuse. How many people are going to do that. It's not made clear that is necessary on the tin. Certainly doesn't do what it says on the tin. Better to buy cheaper products from a different company. Don't believe the comments they made. No one contacted me. They have no intention of contacting anyone with legitimate complaints. Whoever thought of their excuse must be laughing their head off how farcical it is as well as the fact you can't do a thing about it. I will never buy any Ronseal products again.

Bought a ronseal paint sprayer. This is the biggest pile of scrap I've ever purchased. It sprays paint for about 10 seconds and blocks. This product is unfit for purpose and should be taken off the market.

If I could give no stars I would. To suggest a product has failed as we should have sanded the fence first is appalling. No where does it say to sand the fence panels before use. We would never have chosen to use it had we realised they would try and get out of the 5 year guarantee by coming up with excuses to blame us for the product failing.

Good result and customer care..lacking certain application details on the pot though

I used Ronseal Interior Varnish satin clear on hardwood internal doors and stair balustrades. What it does not say on the tin is that it should never be used on a wood surface that may be frequently touched by a human hand. My experience is that the natural oils in the hand are transferred to the water based varnish and over time it becomes darkened and sticky to the touch. It cannot be cleaned and is the source of much ongoing angst. Why do the company not point to this shortcoming in the advertising and on the tin. The areas around door furniture and staircase handrails in particular are a no go area. If you want to incur the cost and inconvenience of stripping and retreating your hardwood handrails with a more suitable oil or varnish after only one to two years, then this is a fine product, if not avoid it.
