The process up to the point of you…
The process up to the point of you invoicing was fine. The invoice was issued and within 48 hours of me receiving the email very over zealous chasing for payment began. I was very unhappy with this at the time as the invoice came out of the blue and before I had received any money from HMRC.
I emailed my point of contact expressing my disappointment and he never had the courtesy to acknowledge or respond.

Great Experience
I had a great experience using Catax Groups services. They were very helpful and attentive to my companies needs and would highly recommend them.
Tax can be testing at the best of times, so it’s fortunate to have a company like Catax to help me with the specifics.

Time wasters and ambulance chasers
Time wasters. In our first call I explained I had been through the process and our case is not applicable. Richard, their sales guy spent multiple hours on the phone convincing me how they can indeed help and how they will do it. He even went far enough to say one of their partners is an advisor at HMRC so they're VERY CONFIDENT. Weeks later when I finally speak to someone who knows what they're talking about, sure enough it was revealed that what I said on the first email was correct, our case was not applicable. But this was after they get you to sign their forms and try to lock you in to their exclusivity contract for the next three years. Also, they charge 25% commission on whatever is collected. You can find a more honest service which will do it for 10% if you look hard enough. They're like the Ambulance Chasers of the HMRC tax credit world.

The approach taken by the Catax team was very professional, thorough and helpful in assessing our development claim, ensuring that it was complete and suitable for submission. It was rapidly actioned with the UK tax authorities and paid to us significantly quicker than we expected.

Relief we didn't know we could claim for
When Catax initially got in touch I wasn't aware what could be claimed for R&D tax relief. They walked me through the process and explained what what was required throughout. The relief received was extremely welcome, especially given the last couple of years!
