Great product and easy to install
The main reason I went for the SmartRoll was because we had a narrow space and needed to minimise projections into the room, which a recessed holder like this does very well. But I also liked the idea of a magnetic holder to make it very easy to change rolls.
They are easy to install in gyprock, it just needs a cut-out of the right size and no studs/noggings behind (in timber frame). I am about to install a new one in a wall that is to be tiled to 1200, so no feedback on that at this stage but not foreseeing any difficulties. I will get the tiler to cut a hole of the right size and pop the holder in after the wall is grouted.
The ONLY issue we have had with the SmartRoll so far is that occasionally visitors who have used the toilet have pressed down too firmly on the top of the roll to stop it rotating while they tear off a sheet and have managed to knock the roll out of the holder. Easily fixed and they no not to do it again.

This is a fantastic design for those wanting to add a modern touch to their bathrooms. Easy to install. Great solution when space is a premium, Empty toilet rolls are always changed now!!!!

I have bought this product before and think it's such a fantastic, well designed, smart idea.
It is functional, well made and looks really neat set into a tiled wall.
That is why I did not hesitate to purchase the Smartroll again for our latest renovation.
My only disappointment was that I bought it directly from Smartroll thinking that it would be the most economical option, only to find later that I could have bought it cheaper from a bathroom shop.
That aside, I would highly recommend this toilet roll holder and will never look to install any other.

Buying a second one!
Haven't actually fitted it yet, but have ordered a second one as we are doing two bathrooms. After receiving the first one, it's a good-looking fitting which operates well!

Nice but Overpriced for a plastic molding.
Overpriced for a plastic molding, in spite of novel features!
I was expecting a Stainless steel sheet-metal pressing, with satin chrome appearance, and was surprised to receive a (spray on) satin chrome plastic molding.
Product appearance is fine, & Magnetic location of toilet-roll Spindle is a nice novel feature. Durability of the whole product over time, is hard to assess when just received, as is durability of surface colour, especially where toilet-roll Spindle will rub on housing.
I can only hope tenants will not loose or damage the magnetic toilet-roll spindle, which would render the whole thing useless, and that a replacement is easily and cheaply available?
The Option to have a cheaper (more easily replaceable) spring loaded toilet-roll Spindle would have been desirable, especially for rental situations, at a much lower price, where a quick spindle replacement from a $2.00 shop would be possible. TDR (product designer retired)
