Sensible researched advice on all aspects of solar from what is likely to be needed, what to look for from installation companies, advice on best practice and what to look out for. Emails are informative and clear. So helpful in what can be a minefield of info that isn’t always correct from some sources. Recommended installers list provided. We used Ask Renewable Solutions who have been brilliant and we’re now up and running on our solar journey. Thank you for the help throughout with clear understandable sensible advice through a number of emails which were all useful. Would highly recommend using solar sherpa if you’re considering exploring solar installation.

Solar can be complicated with so many options out there. Alex me made it so much easier to understand. Great informative weekly emails to guide me through the journey.

I didn't know much about solar technology at all and some advice I would have followed anyway, like getting several quotes.
Having said that, the checklist was really helpful and even the bits I would have done anyway didn't hurt to have reiterated. It felt as if someone was on my side, held my hand and that was worth alone reading the mini course. I really appreciated having some things explained which I then could research more. Not needing to become a solar engineer myself was a bonus while quickly understanding the salespeople language and being able to ask concise questions they seem to try and fudge over.
For me the fact that two companies were suggested also worked well.

I not only received useful recommendations for 3 local firms, saving me a lot of research, but I also found their emails really useful, breaking down the various issues to consider into bite-sized pieces. I started from a baseline of knowing very little about the ins and outs of solar power when I started thinking about getting some solar panels. Solar Sherpa have given lots of info, advice and tips on how to navigate through this jungle which is much denser than I initially anticipated. My only slightly less than positive comment is that some information about certain aspects is drip-fed in separate emails when it would be useful to have it all at once. But I now feel much better equipped to assess quotations and ask the companies the right questions.

Very useful resource if you're considering installing PV on your roof. And you should!

Very helpful and relevant information to help making the best decision

Some information is useful but nothing you can’t learn elsewhere. When it boils down to it they are looking for a referral bonus or similar. I say this because once you read their guide they badger you to request a quote. I requested a quote (twice) and both times the response came up saying try again later. When it finally went through I got a response saying “ Thank you for getting in touch! I've reviewed your quote request. Unfortunately, we currently have limited coverage in the West Midlands”. Given the size of area and population this covers they really can’t have many installers on their books. I would say the site is a waste of your time.
