At present, we are unclear as to why a negative review has been submitted, as we have not yet had the opportunity to assess or progress your claim.
You initially contacted Spectrum regarding an issue with the reversing camera on your vehicle and advised that you had already taken the vehicle to a repairer of your own choosing. However, we were informed by the repairer that no diagnostic work had been carried out, meaning they were unable to confirm the cause of the issue or provide details of the required repairs and associated costs.
You subsequently spoke with my colleague, who explained that authorisation would be required from you for diagnostic work to be carried out. This is standard industry practice for warranty and insurance claims, as a diagnosis is necessary before any claim can be assessed.
At the time, you indicated that you were reluctant to authorise diagnostic work, and to date we have not received any quotation or repair estimate from the repairer. As a result, your claim remains open and pending further information.

LSB - Life saving angle

The lady LSB really helped me a lot with my warranty claim for my new car. And ongoing issue for 2 months and she was very patient, understanding and walked me through each step of my claim. Great experience and I can't thank her enough for being so kind and caring throughout.

This is the worse warranty company you…

This is the worse warranty company you can ever get , is like you don’t have warranty at all , I call because I have a problem whit my car they send me a list of garages that are the worse ones from my area they will damage your car than fixed your car but obviously they work whit them because is cheaper for them , anyways after I pay for the diagnostic myself they told me that they will get back to me or the warranty company to let me know if the fault of the car is under warranty is been mong time and neither the company or the garage contact me is like they want me to forget or get tired of waiting and get it fixed whit my own money the don’t care about your car they just want to sell a product which it doesn’t exist when you really need it so please avoid this scammers because that’s how you feel when you buy this non existing service

We are unclear as to why a negative review has been submitted, as we have not yet had the opportunity to assess or progress your claim. Our only communication from you was on 24th February, when you contacted us to report a knocking and squealing noise from your vehicle. At that time, we explained the claims procedure and provided you with a choice of four nominated repairers.
To date, we have not received any further communication from you or from a repairer regarding this matter.
I would be more than happy to discuss any concerns you may have about our service directly. I understand that one of my colleagues has since been in touch and is now liaising with the repairer to review any faults identified.

This is company is shit . I bought car from car giant .and I get 1 year extra warranty to paid around 500£ to spectrum . I had problem my car when I called this company. They are only make fool .please be careful

Avoid at all cost not worth the paper…

Avoid at all cost not worth the paper it's written on breakdown & pay for a diagnostic test & guess what it's not covered just threw £900 away con men. See what the ombudsman has to say. Amazing how all your reply are the same duuuuuuur. AVOID THIS COMPANY TOTAL SCAMMERS. Paid £899 for 36 months cover i was also give 3 months & after umpteen visits to garages & only 4 months in to my term not even a partal refund

Great customer service

I wanted to leave a review as I spoke to a lovely lady called katelin which was very helpful. I’ve had a problem with my car for a while and spoken to a few advisers but she really just listened to my concerns and found the right information to help me out. She is amazing

Top notch customer service recieved

Been having some problems with my vehicle and felt overwhelmed with how I was going to get it sorted. Spoke to Caitlyn who was patient and broke every thing down to me step by step so I understood every step of the process I need to follow to find a solution.
Caitlyn is a credit to Spectrum, she simplified everything and was super helpful with every question I asked even going back over things to make sure I fully grasped what I needed to do. Caitlyn took full control and my issue was addressed with one single interation. This is exactly how customer service should be and 100 percent deserving of a 5 star review!

I was treated with respect and courtesy

Young lady (Linsey) treated me with respect and courtesy after a long struggle with the motor company who I bought the insurance from. She sorted it out with the repairer including obtaining the cost and refunded me what was due on extended insurance policy. Thank you very much Linsey. Ps if you need to get in touch with your insurer ask for Linsey

AVOID AT ALL COST/NOT WORTH IT

This company only has a very limited number of approved garages, and those are in extremely inconvenient locations. Many major claims cannot even be made, and they require you to contact them and get authorisation before any work is carried out — which makes the whole process unnecessarily stressful and complicated.
On top of that, no independent mechanic (apart from their two authorised garages) is willing to deal with them. Most garages insist on upfront payment because they are fed up with trying to work with insurance/warranty companies like this.
This warranty has been a complete waste of money. Had I known how it works in reality, I would never have purchased it.
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

Unfortunately, due to the limited information provided in your review, we are unable to respond to your specific circumstances. However, we would like to address some of the general points you have mentioned.
You state that we have a very limited number of garages located in extremely inconvenient areas. We are unclear as to what you mean by this, as we currently have over 717 nominated garages nationwide, which is a substantial network designed to provide broad and accessible coverage.
You also mention that many major claims cannot be made. This is factually incorrect. As with any warranty or insurance provider, it is standard industry practice that customers must notify us when a fault occurs. Without prior notification, we are unable to assess liability or authorise repairs.
Additionally, the suggestion that no independent garages are willing to work with us is inaccurate. All of our nominated repairers are independent garages who accept direct payment from us. We take pride in our prompt and efficient settlement of approved claims.
If you would be willing to provide further details regarding your experience, we would welcome the opportunity to review your case fully and address your concerns directly.

Waste of time & money

Fault with my car as soon as I bought it, rang for help and they sent me to local garages. After l informing spectrum that only the car brand will look at it, they said find other garages. I have had to pay for multiple diagnostics out of my own pocket and all garages said “you will have to go straight to MINI”. (Spectrum said this can not happen)
I tried to call and fill out the help form multiple times to tell them but I have had no response. I FINALLY get through today nearly a year later after no response to any email & they say they have nothing on record of me trying to contact. What a waste of time and money spent on warranty and diagnostic tests for them to say “this needed to be fixed within 14 days of initial complaint” even though NO ONE told me that.

*I am aware that my warranty has now run out but that doesn’t make up for the fact how much money I wasted on diagnostics and that no one could get back to me.

I called spectrum a few times to sort…

I called spectrum a few times to sort my car out and see what the progress was on it as it had been over a week since I had reported it not working. A wonderful lady LSB received my call on two separate occasions and she was absolutely brilliant. She sorted it out straight away and had answers for me I did feel without this lady I was still left hanging around without answers and unpromised retuned calls. So if you ever need anything sorting out straight away I would ask for a call back from this lady.

Not what it says on the tin

When you buy a warranty with your car you expect it it to be carried out within their own terms. Mine was not. I had a dpf filter issue which I had diagnosed privately and they told me the dpf had failed. I made a claim and put it into one of their approved repair centres. As they found the dpf pressure sensor was faulty they replaced that and assumed all was ok. No it wasn't. Cut a long story short they ignored what I said for about 3 months and when the garage finally said yes we think it's the dpf they cheaped out amd made the garage fit an aftermarket filter. Lo and behold that failed within 200 miles of driving the car as it wasnt a suitable replacement. When the garage explained this to them they didn't want to know basically I had to pay out of my pocket nearly £2500 to have a proper genuine part fitted. They are good at small claims but when something expensive happens they dont want to know. If you buy a car from cargiant don't bother buying the warranty get a decent warranty from a reputable company. I have owned my car for around 13 months and its been in my possession for around 6 of these due to various problems. Avoid at all costs.

Rang spectrum today as I brought a warranty and had no documentation so the young woman Donna on customer services no hesitation sent documents via email while we was on the phone we was asking quite a few questions some she weren't 100% on so she put us through to another helper lindsay who guided us through the rest of it and made everything clear thank you both you was very helpful

Have had an awful experience with…

Have had an awful experience with Spectrum, the refused two claims on my car for which I think is grossly unfair and wrong, as such I am escalating this to the Ombudsman for adjudication. They refused to replace a boot latch mechanism, saying that it was simply “loose”. NOT TRUE – it is a known fault form the Manufacturer that the latch becomes loose due to a defect in the latching mechanism. They have produced a modified part which corrects this. The net result it the boot can fly open at any moment, which it has done on me.

Second issue was that a faulty design at the front of the car allowed water when raining to make the headlamp look like it is flickering. Refused – they don’t cover headlamps!!!! The fault had nothing to do with the headlamp. The manufacturer has produced modified part to correct this fault, the part being additional flaps which divert water away from the lenses.

I wanted to cancel the policy for a pro-rata refund – nope they refused that also!!! (they try to palm this one off to the dealer – look out for that trick) this was to take a warranty elsewhere which a company I have been discussing this with whom they confirmed in writing that would have covered these faults.

Finally the said even in the event of a successful claim they would not cover the diagnostic fee.

I wrote to them on 5th January and I am yet to have any kind of coherent response.

So if I were you I would think long and hard before taking out any policy with this company. Their policies are utterly hopeless and not worth the money. Find a better company.

Had an issue with the car whilst away…

Had an issue with the car whilst away over Christmas. Spoke to Spectrum who were really helpful and understanding with so many garages being closed!
Got a quote, let them know, they authorised it almost immediately then I had the work done and paid myself. Sent the invoice and ive been reimbursed within 5 days. Highly recommended.

Had a gearbox message come up on my dashboard. I called spectrum, the claims handler was very helpful & clear . They recommended me to go to brittanic auto transmission in tottenham . Nick dealt with the whole claim . Two days later my car is fixed . Very happy . Thanks
