Absolutely excellent. Waiting time was brief, everybody I communicated to was patient and understanding, process was very affordable and worth it for my diagnosis. My needs have not only been understood but met for one of the first times in my life. I reccomend this clinic to anyone planning to transition. Perfect.

I used the Gender Clinic for my top surgery referral letters. Couldn’t be happier with the service I received :) they’re super fast responding to emails, the clinicians are so nice and they were able to produce my letters very quickly as I already had a surgery date to make. Thank you :))

I'm not overstating it to say the Gender Clinic saved my life. From the very start, they pulled me out of the trough of waiting lists, transphobia, clinical condescension, snake oil salesmen et al, made me feel respected and valued as a client and as a person. They have been across every issue with speed, efficiency and understanding. To begin with, I too looked askance at the Harley Street fees but in the long run you save time and money on the sniffier outfits who will exhaust both. Thank you, Gender Clinic, you opened the door for me to my best life.

I cannot praise enough, from the initial contact with the Clinic I felt like a real person and was treated with the utmost respect.
My dysphoria assessment was both professional and personable and felt to ease through the whole process.

The Gender Clinic has great communication whether that is via phone or email. They are happy to answer queries with a fast response time. The time from making contact to having the initial consultation took approximately 6 weeks which felt very reasonable.

The consultation itself felt like an interrogation, which I can understand to an extent as there is certain criteria to identify under strict time constraints. However, what I found extremely upsetting was the way I was spoken to after talking about my transition journey so far. The psychiatrist was less than happy that I am still deciding on my preferred name and I have not experimented with names. It was an extremely invalidating experience and I felt like I was getting told off for 50 minutes. Perhaps my transitioning is not the most traditional, however I feel like I shouldn't feel invalidated because of this.

Additionally, they did not seem pleased that my collateral contact was my best friend, even after I explained that I felt that it was the most appropriate as I'm not close with my family. Even my collateral contact felt like it was an unpleasant and intense interaction.

As I was so upset, I found it difficult to collect all of my thoughts and didn't say some things which may have helped them get a full picture and understand my reasoning for my social transitioning journey.

As promised, I received my report 2 weeks after the consultation which was well written.

Although I had a negative experience I believe this experience might be unique to my psychiatrist and personal circumstances. However, for £550 I feel extremely dissatisfied.

I honestly can't recommend them enough!

I saw Dr. Hejda-Forde for a gender dysphoria assessment. She was very polite, professional, and insightful; I felt comfortable speaking openly with her, and was impressed by how thorough and careful her assessment was.

My report was sent back to me in excellent time, actually faster than the timescale they had suggested. I had a few minor corrections to suggest, and these were rectified very quickly. I was impressed with my report, which was a very detailed and accurate recount of our hour-long conversation, with helpful clinical insights. I appreciated that the report and diagnosis was discussed and corroborated with Dr. Popelyuk, giving me additional peace of mind.

I hadn't heard of The Gender Clinic in my preliminary research, which made me a bit nervous - I don't believe they're one of 'the big names' - but this is a terrible shame, as I honestly had a much better experience with them than other clinics. I had contacted several other clinics to try and book an appointment, and felt that they were very unprofessional and opaque.

The Gender Clinic administrative staff were polite and incredibly helpful throughout; I could call them at any time to clear up points of confusion, and they were very friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable. Notably, they were very easy to contact, and replied to any communications in a timely manner. The booking process was easy and fast, and the waitlist was a very reasonable timeframe. A month and a half, as of Feb 2026 - not to be sniffed at! The cost is in line with other clinics, and better value given the superior level of professionalism, clinical conduct, and efficiency.

Slightly awkwardly, you might need to find an external endocrinologist, as their in-house hormone clinic operates on a subscription model that would become very expensive if you couldn't get shared care. I would recommend checking the government's list of practitioners qualified to approve a gender recognition certificate, as any endocrinologist should accept a diagnosis from one of these highly regarded practitioners. This can help you choose which doctor to book with. Do your research, and decide if the subscription model is for you - it's entirely your decision if you see an endocrinologist in-house or not. Although you would need to be in discussion with an endocrinologist before the assessment, as they will need to address the report to your chosen doctor.

I have experienced a lot of medical care for physical health problems in my time, especially private care. This is the only gender clinic I interacted with that I felt was on par with the standards I would expect from private healthcare, and I commend them for this.

I decided to go private for my Dysphoria diagnosis as I've been fairly unhappy with the NHS and how their services have been recently.

The Gender Clinic helped me with getting myself diagnosed and referred for hormone treatment. They were very nice and helpful in terms of trying to get what I need.

My only gripes are the expenses and the ways they spoke. £550 is a lot of money. I can understand why but still a lot. Plus I think part of the experience was a little...all over the place in terms of how they were trying to gather info about me.

Still, I would recommend it if you have the money!

The staff were very nice before, during, and after the appointment. In terms of private gender services, I think their prices are reasonable. They responded quickly to my original enquiry and I received my report within the given timeframe. I would highly recommend The Gender Clinic to anyone looking into private gender services.

A short waiting time that led to an efficient and speedy report turnaround that was detailed. Everyone involved was friendly and gender affirming as far as clinical assessments go, with difficult aspects being approached respectfully.

I can not rate this clinic highly enough. From start to finish the communication was exemplary, they answered all my questions and eased my worries immediately. Dr Leontis was incredible. So easy to talk to, empathetic and thorough. After having an awful experience at a different gender clinic it was so nice to finally receive decent care. The turn around for my report was exceptionally fast and everything was easy to manage.

As someone who was slightly anxious, I’ve never felt so put it ease by Dr Anderson. The team was very quick to respond via email for any queries I may have had and overall was a very good and professional appointment.

I contacted The Gender Clinic on 10th September and they called me back the very next day and arranged my appointment then and there for the 2nd October. My gender assessment documentation has already been processed and I'm seeing my GP tomorrow to discuss moving forward with an endocrinologist for hormone therapy. Amazing service and an amazing team of Doctors and staff! Couldn't have asked for more! Thank you! ❤️

I recently used the Gender Clinic to get a referral for nonbinary top surgery as they were one of my surgeon's recommended clinics. The process of getting an appointment was simple, quick, and everyone I spoke to was so friendly & knowledgeable. I had Dr. Anna Streeruwitz as my clinician and she made me feel at ease immediately - she listened to everything I had to say without judgement, asked me the questions she had in a clear and understanding way, so I knew exactly how to respond, and overall I couldn't have asked for a better experience. For the type of top surgery I want, my surgeon requires 2 psychiatrist referrals - the team at the gender clinic made this a seamless part of the process by reviewing my case internally & having 2 clinicians co-sign the report, which my surgeon was happy to accept. I also couldn't get over how fast the whole process was. I was expecting everything to take a couple of months to go from first contacting the clinic to receiving my report, but it only took a couple of weeks! I definitely got lucky in terms of timing for my appointment but even so, I'm impressed by how efficient the whole process was and I am so happy I chose The Gender Clinic to get my referral & will certainly go back to them in the future if I decide I want to seek any additional gender affirming care.

I have had two referrals from The Gender Clinic and Dr Hejda-Forde for top surgery and hormones. My experience with them has been very efficient, understanding and thought through. I have had no issues and everything has gone very smoothly. I feel very seen and understood by them and highly recommend for anyone looking for help regarding transitioning.
