The Gender Clinic at 70 Harley Street Avis 

I went with The Gender Clinic to get my GD diagnosis in order to start HRT. Everything was handled very efficiently, and all the staff I spoke to were really lovely.

My appointment was with Dr Leontis, who I immediately felt comfortable speaking with. She was very understanding, and I always felt like I was speaking to a person and not just someone going through a checklist. Any discussion of difficult topics was spoken about respectfully.

I really would recommend them!

Let me start by saying Dr Leontis and the team at the Gender Clinic were attentive, kind and caring throughout the entire process of my diagnosis and referrall letter.

Dr Leontis was so genuine and not at all what many transgender people assume or get told the caricature of a psychologist would be, we hear many horror stories if being subject to awful questioning and i can say my experience was Dr Leontis was warm and i could tell she really cared not only about me but also my journey.

Many of us already know who are faced with the persitant issues of transitioning that the process is difficult, i can confidently say this was one of the smoothest and most helpful parts of my journey.

I would reccomend this clinic to anyone in need of a Letter to start HRT

I had a referral from this clinic to start HRT last year and this was with Dr Khalid, she was very welcoming and also re assured me

This week I returned for referrals for my gender confirmation surgery where I had follow up with Dr Khalid and a full assessment with Dr Steeruwitz and both where very welcoming, had compassion and helped put my mind at ease for my upcoming surgery, I now look forward to booking my surgery for the new year

The admin staff at this clinic are really incredible as well, so friendly and welcoming, they will help answer any questions you have

A very thorough going over by the psychiatrist who saw me. And I knew her report would carry weight. The admin staff were brilliant also with their rapid responses to my emails and friendly manner on the telephone.

Absolutely over the moon at the service from this clinic, they are professional, compassionate, caring and made the whole process so easy.
I suffer with anxiety and that soon eased as i sat and chatted with the Dr.
I feel like they have lifted a weight off me that has been there over 30 years!

Responded to emails so fast it blew my mind after being used to 6 month waiting lists minimum for everything, as we all are. Very kind and helpful staff - Tristan Jones and Richard Glaves are absolute legends. The psychologist I saw, Dr Leontis, was very understanding and made me feel at ease, even when going over the topic of dysphoria. Could not recommend highly enough.

Dr Streeruwitz saw us for a follow-up appointment as we were wanting to have a formal recommendation for testosterone. She was very understanding and patient, did not make me go over details we had previously discussed in our first appointment in February, and was able to give us the recommendation we needed. Was also relieved to see a follow-up for testosterone was only £350 compared to the £500 I had already paid for my main assessment previously. Would definitely recommend Dr Streeruwitz and Dr Popelyuk's clinic in general.

For those looking for clinic options and are refered to Dr Popelyuk's for care. I can tell you that it took less than one month from the initial email to having finished the appointment so they're very good for timings. I found them highly professional and calm which helped with easing anxiety. They're mostly video call based but can do face to face but that has a longer wait time I believe. If you're going in for an appointment then have you're facts/ experiences written down at the ready as this will make the process alot easier for you. As far as emailing goes they were very good and quick to respond. Very straight forward to follow. Hope this helps you on your journey. You got this!

Responded to emails and enquiries incredibly fast, very attentive to whatever I asked as well. Appointment set up easily, psychologist absolutely amazing (gold star to Dr Hejda-Forde), she made me feel comfortable and I couldn’t have been happier with my experience with this clinic. I approached the clinic for my SRS recommendation. I was treated with respect by all members of staff that I spoke with. Every step of the process was explained clearly and professionally to me before my appointment which put a lot of my nerves ar rest. My recommendation appointment was with Anna Steeruwitz. I was a bag of nerves before this appointment due to it's importance on my future. I need not have been as Anna put me at rest and made.it very easy for me to put across my story. I would like to thank all at the clinic and can't recommend them highly enough.

I was assessed by Dr Streeruwitz who has since written me a very professional, accurate report which will allow me to begin hormone therapy. I’m very grateful to have been assessed by this psychiatrist. The waiting time was short, too- I was assessed around 2 weeks after booking the appointment. Overall a brilliant service, I highly recommend for those who can afford it.

You get what you pay for. The Gender Clinic team are responsive and kind through every step of the process. The assessment in extensive to make sure HRT is right for you and they screen for other possible diagnoses to give you a greater perspective on your gender experience. Will be coming back to them for the next steps in my transition

I needed a report for the Gender Recognition Panel and contacted the Gender clinic for help.
All the staff were very helpful and professional.
The video conferencing system was easy saving me time and cost as I didn't have to go to London for the consultation.
The report was sent to me to check within a few days.

As a member of a (slightly) older generation, my transition began a long time ago, but I had never made the progress I needed. So I contacted the Gender Clinic and a couple of months later, I feel it's the best move I ever made.
This service is superb. E-mails answered within a reasonable time, which is really appreciated when you're feeling a little isolated and wondering where to turn. Everyone I met, in person or on the phone, was so nice and I was treated with friendliness and courtesy at every step. I saw Dr Steeruwitz and Dr Leontis. Both made me feel at ease straight away, and were extremely helpful and positive. Richard and Lila May were lovely and I really felt they would always be there to help me navigate to difficult terrain ahead. Altogether a very positive experience and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
