We have provided auction values, which will always be significantly lower than private sales values, but can of course be far exceeded during the right sale, on the right day.
The insurance value on the report is more in keeping with a private sales value.
Gallery/dealer prices usually include up to and sometimes in excess of 50% commission. In addition, time passing is no guarantee that the piece will increase in value.
Secondary market prices, which we have quoted will not always be greater, or even equal that paid to a dealer.
We are sorry not to have been able to bring you better news on this occasion.

I paid $30 to have my multi signed Jersey appraised and my "report" just said to take it to another service. $30 for that advice.
Edit: I was unhappy with the service but customer service agreed that they did not really do anything. A refund was provided. I think that is a fair response.

My experience was, opinions from the company are limited to the photograph(s) provided by the purchaser, if these photographs happen to catch the light in a certain angle, assumptions can and will be made by them (!), post their ‘research’ of course.

BEWARE! I already was told that my items were at least 2000 years old and I have a letter of providence and the place found. I was given this from "Valuemy stuff":

The figurines are modern mold-made ceramics with no stylistic traits related to ancient Pre-Columbian artefacts while the clay is of modern origin. As we have not been able to bring you better news on value on this occasion, we have restored the valuation credit to your account for future use with our compliments.
Updater: Valuemystuff told me it looked fake so I would advise people not to use the appraisals without checking them. These artifacts have been with the Guatemalan side of my family since 1922 and has been looked at by Guatemalan experts. Valuemystuff just said they are faked often and said the were basically worthless. By looking at picture how on earth can they truly evaluate them? They did give me back my money so they are legit but now I still to find some that puts more effort in evaluations.

Whilst we appreciate the item has been in your family since 1922, this is a short time compared with how old the item would be were it authentic. An authentic item would be 100s of years old.
Our specialist looks at the style of the piece, which can be easily seen from the images. I am afraid the style of your item is not in keeping with a genuine ancient artefact.
We are sorry you are disappointed with our appraisal.
Our Pre-Columbian art specialist was Head of the Pre-Columbian Department at Sotheby's for many years, her opinions can be relied upon.
Unfortunately unscrupulous sellers will invent provenance/history to convince amateur enthusiasts of authenticity. Equally, of course anyone with a printer can create a certificate of authenticity.
Whilst we understand shooting the messenger may bring you some satisfaction, it will not render your item anything other than a valueless replica.
As you still have doubts please do take the piece to a museum or auction house for first hand inspection. In the event we are incorrect, we will of course refund our fee.
You have however not paid for this appraisal, as we restored the valuation credit to your account as a gesture of goodwill. It is regrettable you have not taken it in spirit in which it was intended.

Highly inaccurate. Avoid.
Paid £25 for a valuation on a piece of art that is absolute nonsense.
I have seen the piece sell (1 of 200) on ebay for £3300 3 years back and they value mine at £600 (the same I paid for it 11 years ago)!
Save your money people - its a scam.

As per our email correspondence, our specialist carried out extensive research on similar pieces recently sold at auction. These were listed in your appraisal as the basis of our estimates as actual sales results, rather than an apocryphal listing on eBay for which you are unable to provide any proof.
Regrettably, whilst we would have much rather brought you better news on value, none of the actual sales results discovered in our research came close to the value you were hoping for.
Whilst we appreciate you are disappointed and that shooting the messenger may make you feel better, I am afraid that will not change the fact your piece of art is simply not worth nearly as much as you had imagined.

I was very impressed with the detailed report given. On this occasion, I was told that a physical examination was needed, to ascertain the value of my item. They still did a comprehensive report and, as they were honest enough to say it couldn't be valued by photographs alone, they gave me a full refund, which was in my bank within hours. No quibbles or messing about. I can't wait to use them again!
