Money Stolen by Vinyl Box

Money Stolen by Vinyl Box after paying for a years subscription that wasn't fullfilled with the excuse of going into administration. Now they email daily under the same name and branding asking me to re-subscribe and are unresponsive to requests for them to fulfill my order.

Scam company who are not true to their word, new management or not they should have honoured their existing customers. Thieves.

I have paid exactly £469 for a yearly…

I have paid exactly £469 for a yearly service, expecting great selection of vinyls, at a considerable price.

I tried to choose the best vinyls from the selection, and at the time they even offered Vinyl Swap in case i did not like it.

I got 2 months of irregular shipments, quite a lot of delays on the initial one, then it was just a complete mystery what month am I getting, after they decided to run away with my money, and now decided to come back, using the same company name, the same branding to persuade me to become a founder member once again.

I have reached out multiple times to recover this money for the service, they decided to ignore this until the relaunch, and once pressed again, they just blame that it's all under a different company.

So if you wish to get a unique Vinyl for a fair price, stay away as far as you can from this company and any person who promotes it.

Had a years subscription with them

Had a years subscription with them, at times they were good at times dreadful. Blew hot and cold from month to month, very hard to contact very little response back when you did manage to contact them. Everything went quiet around October after receiving an email say they were in the process of changing

“We have been in the process of moving our fulfilment to a group which has one of the highest green credentials in the UK, however this process has taken longer than expected and whilst we have been holding back the swap window announcement in the hope of being ready, we prioritised avoiding any disruption, so we are going to skip this month’s box”

Advised we wouldn’t receive anything that month due to the change and expect any subscriptions to be extended from November 23, come November still complete silence. Website down with no way to contact them. Suddenly out of the blue in late December an email was sent confirming the company had gone bust and would no longer provide any vinyls dispute still owing myself a few months worth.

Companies House still show they are trading under the same name. It even states a change of directors in October 2023 to a lady called Elizabeth whom I would assume is the same person I’ve had conversations before about the poor service received. Given this information have they gone bust or have they just taken peoples money and done a runner. Elizabeth herself seems to have been listed with a few companies over the years so who knows.

DONT USE THIS COMPANY

DONT USE THIS COMPANY! Got 1 month then disappeared. No contact no further month of vinyls. It clearly a scam. The company is still registered with companies house so they’ll likely start trading under a different name so be careful of other vinyl subscriptions. The owners are clearly just after taking money and not providing the service.

I got one month as promised, then it kinda' fell apart

I got one month as promised, the second was a dispatch that was exactly what I'd vetoed and it took some chasing for them to fix it (they did include a bonus record as an apology in the end, for which I was grateful).
Sadly the final month never came, as they went into administration after two months of delay and claiming it was about a change in logistics. I think a lot of people would have understood if they'd been clear about it being a funding delay, but I don't have a lot of faith there'll be comms any time soon with the alleged new company making good on existing subscriptions.
It's a good idea, but with the rather limited choices on offer and stuff-ups, in hindsight it was probably always running close to the bone. A shame, but also I can't really give it a good review.

Good evening, I wanted to be in touch, as I am sure that you have all noticed that Viny Box has been very quiet over the
last few weeks, which we are now able to explain. As with many startups, the first few years of trading, need a constant round of funding to make sure that the investment in tech doesn't drain the revenues and this was the case with VB. Although we had our next round of funding committed in the summer, those monies sadly never arrived from our investor, due to liquidity issues and it meant that we had to seek an
alternative route for financial support. I therefore reached out to a US vinyl business and we rather excitingly agreed a deal for VB to merge with them, however, sadly the merger didn't complete in time and VB is now in the process of going through administration, which sadly means the founders and
current team will no longer be part of the business. However, I understand that the US will complete the deal in the next few weeks and I also believe that they will look after you, as we were very excited about what
the merger could bring to VB. I wanted to personally thank you for coming on this journey with us, we love music, especially vinyl and really loved what we had created in VinylBox and that
was down to you and the community.

Vinylbox now in administration. Do not purchase

After leaving a review previously, I was convinced that Vinylbox had gone bust. Well tonight I received a confirmation.
"A merger deal didn't complete in time and now the company is in administration. The current management team will no longer be a part of the business".
It's sad that the business has gone bust, but I just wish they'd been straight previously, because what they said and what actually happened are two different things. Outright lies tbh. So I've now lost out on vinyl records which I could've purchased with the money I spent on a Vinylbox subscription.

No communication

No communication. Appalling customer service. I’ve had so many issues with this company since purchasing an 12 month subscription as a gift. No box since September and now no response to emails. Are they even still in business?
If I could give no stars I would.
My advice would be to avoid this company.

Waiting over a month, no replies

Bought a Vinyl as a gift for 5th November. When it didn't arrive, told it'll appear by Friday, and since then I've sent 4 emails and had 2 generic emails back, not about my specific order. It's been well over a month now and there seems to be no other way to contact them.

VinylBox a scam?

I purchased a gift card for Christmas and was planning on buying a second for someone else and noticed the website wasn't working. There have been no new posts since August on their Instagram, no reply on Instagram, and the replies from VinylBox to reviews on here say the new website should be up and running by the 29th November... well thats been and gone.

Oh and a lot of comments on their August Instagram post suggest that people haven't received any vinyl since August/September.

Thankfully I purchased via a credit card so have submitted a chargeback.

Even if the website does come back online, I'd recommend dodging this company and go to your local independent Vinyl shop instead.

Take your money then close the site.
I have signed up for an annual subscription to this site and for 4 months now I have not received any orders. The orders that I have received have been far from what I expected. I have mailed them on numerous occasions with no reply. The website is now completely off line.
I hope they enjoy the £1,000's of they have conned from many people!!!!

Paid for a 3 month subscription in…

Paid for a 3 month subscription in september recieved no boxes bar the free vinyls on sign up. Store seems to have dissapeared and no response to emails. Could have taken that money and bought 3 for £55 from HMV twice over. Super dissapointing.

You may have spotted our message a couple of weeks ago explaining we are going through a massive warehouse move, to a greener option. We have also taken the opportunity to complete a large tech migration onto a new platform, so we are ready for the busy Q4 season.

Unfortunately there were some delays and the whole process has taken a little longer than we would have liked. The new site will be live by 29th November, along with a bunch of new and exciting features. Likewise, we are doing the final stock check at our new fulfilment centre this coming week.

This does mean that this month’s box swap window will take place during the first two weeks of December . Don’t worry, you won’t be charged anything or any of your up front credit used up.

I seem to be having the same problem as…

I seem to be having the same problem as others have reviewed. I joined Vinylbox because I love music and wanted to broaden my collection and it seemed the perfect platform to use. After my initial outlay I was regularly updated until it came to adding to my library. Website was down (still is) and after a lengthy response time was informed of the move without any information on this in all my correspondence. After many emails going back and forth I have little idea what is going on and have twice now asked to cancel my subscription and get a full refund with no reply. Would not recommend!

Vinylbox no more?

Signed up for a Vinylbox Subscription in September, and received that months box. Wasn't overly blown away, but I was expecting it to be a random selection of records, so fully expected to not always get stuff I loved, but that was what I was looking for, something to find new artists and music I might not have listened to otherwise.

October comes around and no box - get an update saying they're changing supplier and that my next month will roll over so I don't lose out. Fine by me!

Now the website is down, they're not replying to emails or social media messages. So all in all I paid for an annual subscription, got one box, and now have no method of getting in contact with anyone about a refund.

What happened to Vinylbox?

I think Vinylbox really hyped up the business model and seem to have fallen foul of clearly missing the target. Their offerings I now think were probably a way for record labels to “get rid of” surplus stock and I was never truly satisfied with what I received. The sign-up “gifts” were quite frankly disappointing as I am overall. And now they have disappeared…if they were still operating I would definitely advise not to sign up and now let’s see if I can get any money back or if they fulfill their obligations in any way??!!

I joined in September and received 1 box with excellent choices. I paid for 3 months and their web address wasn’t working. I emailed and had no response for a few days. I’ve now had a response explaining that they’re making changes to their shipping provider. Hopefully things will be back to normal.
