I AM WRITING ANOTHER REVIEW. JUST PAID OFF MY $13.00 BALANCE . MONTGOMERY WARD IS A BIG JOKE. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS, EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN ORDER AND PAY EVERY MONTH, NOT WORTH IT.
I RETURNED AN AIR FRYER AND THE WARRANTY, WHICH CAME TO ABOUT $200 DOLLARS. I SPECIFICALLY STATED I WANTED A CHECK MAILED TO ME, I DID NOT WANT THAT AMOUNT APPLIED TO MY CREDIT WITH THEM. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY MONEY BACK SINCE LAST YEAR, BUT TO NO AVAIL.
I GUESS I AM NOT GETTING MY MONEY BACK BUT THEY WERE VERY QUICK TO DELTE ALL OF MY IFORMATION AND MY ACCOUNT AS REQUESTED.

I awoke to an email saying my order had been placed, only thing is, I didn't order anything. I immediately called customer service stating I must have been hacked and was able to get the order cancelled prior to it shipping. But then it showed that it shipped anyways, I had reported it at fraud. As of now I am still showing that I owe the money, but they did fix it so noone else can do this to my account, they cancelled my credit that I had with them LOL.

I got the wrong item in the mail, and they tried to send me a shipping label four times and could not get it right. I called six times about this and they informed me a week ago they sent me a return shipping label and still have not got it in the mail. I will never order from them again. My order was supposed to be here today. Called customer service. I was told I cancelled my own order, so that's why it wasnt here! Then was told a couple items were not even available anymore. And the only way to receive my items before Christmas was to pay for expedited shipping! I told the representative they should be sending my order expedited for free after all this. I was told they won't do that. I told the representative to cancel my order. Talk about bad customer service! I would definitely not recommend this place.

This company is horrible!!! When I placed my order, I was told that I needed to make a DOWNPAYMENT on my order, when I clicked on the option, it took the whole damn amount out ($344.99). When I finally got in touch with someone, it was like I was crossing the line because I got upset and I told them that the company was promoting false advertising and that I wanted to cancel my order and get a full refund. In the FAQ's, it explains the down payment requirement and that is TO PAY A PORTION of the order total. The second person I spoke to about it just took notes and transferred me to another department. Why in the hell do they hire people to just take notes? I get the next department and they had to put me on hold for about 10 minutes, just to come back and tell me that the credit was approved and my debit card was charged. I finally got my order canceled, so I thought, and was told that the order number was my confirmation number. I called back 2 days after that to check the status and my damn refund was never issued!!!!! There should be a negative rating you can put on these types of companies.

Terrible customer service! I never received my order and woke up to an email saying that it was returned which made no sense to me because the tracking number I was given through Fedex said the item was never picked up to ship. I called customer service and she mumbled through my request and never answered my questions after I repeated the information several times. If you get the catalog, throw it away with the rest of the junk mail.

I called to place an order...gave the item numbers and the representative asked for my social security number...said "it was for my protection"...I refused to give it to her and she said she could not complete the order without it. I have 3,400 worth of credit I'm currently using just over $2,000 of it I tried to buy a pair of shoes this is the third time this has happened on a purchase they said we're going to need half down because you don't have enough credit I'll call their customer service and ask him what's going on we don't know what happened but everything's okay now you can reorder it's too late then ask him how I can fix this all we don't know their customer service in their credit does nothing to help the customers

This company is a complete joke. I ordered a curio cabinet for my Mother using her credit card but my catalog. This company didn’t take the info on credit card, my credit card company stopped it, we received the item and it took 38 phone calls to get a return label to send it back. 40 phone calls later, they are still charging full price for the returned item. What a bunch of incompetent workers- now it is in collections and collection company says to contact Wards, but, contacting them now 6 more times, they say it’s resolved but it is not. Don’t order from this company - they are incompetent in service

I got a catalog in the mail & thought I would look through it. I saw where they had an Amazon Kindle & Amazon Fire 7 & 10 for sale. If at all possible get it from Amazon. This place should not even be in business the way they cheat people out of money. The Kindle was $100 more than Amazon. The Fire 7 was $70 more & the Fire 10 was $195 more. The 10 was a refurbished one because they didn’t have the new ones. Don’t buy from Montgomery Ward.

PSA: I received the late summer Montgomery Ward catalog yesterday. I usually give catalogs to my grandchildren to look through, it is fun to see them go through a “wish book”.
I hadn’t received a catalog in a very long time so I looked through it before giving it to the kids, thank goodness! I was surprised to find in the middle of the catalog two pages of sex toys. I am glad that I didn’t give the catalog to the kids! It saved me from the awkward questions about such products as “ThrustMe Massager”, “Horny Goat Weed Extract” and “Gyrating Mister”, to name a few.
Do better, Montgomery Ward! Market whatever products in your inventory but be mindful of photos and descriptions sent directly to families in the mail.

I opened an account based off of a catalog I received in the mail. It offered but now pay later. I placed an order and was approved. I have one payment left of $16.71 to complete that order. They do not disclose what your credit is however and I found that odd as an offer for buy now pay later you mean to tell me I was only approved for $30.00? ( I say $30.00 because that’s the price of the order I placed) I tried to place an order for $35.99 yesterday and it was declined as they said I needed to build credit with the company first. Didn’t I already build credit with my first order? They wanted a down payment. I called customer service because emailing was not working out. Terrible response to my emails. Anyway I was told that a down payment was required not because I needed to establish credit but because I had a fraud alert on my credit. This is not true. I am working on building my credit and I check it daily and do not have a fraud alert on any credit. I told the rep this and he advised I call Experian to see what happened. He then processed my new order. I called Experian and was told I did NOT have any type of fraud alert and was unsure as to why the Montgomery Wards rep in the credit department told me this. I am so confuse. As someone who’s on top of their credit, this worries me. I then got an email from Montgomery Ward with the status of my recent order. It was asking for a down payment again! lol I’m so finished with this company. I will pay off my $16.71 but after that I refuse to do business with them. The products are over priced, the shipping is even more over priced and it takes forever to arrive. I opened this account to better my credit score but I’ve gotten more of a headache instead. The credit rep asked me very sensitive information about my credit to confirm it was me but then said it wasnt a fraud alert?! Sounds like a scam to me. Do not do business with this company.
Product not worth the price!!!
I purchased an expensive item in November 2022 and didn't need to use it until a couple of weeks ago. After trying to use it the first time, the pull cord broke on it. I contacted the return dept and they said since it had been over 60 days since purchase that they couldn't replace it!!! I just attempted to use it !!!
Red Flags
I haven't even gotten a chance to do actual business with this company and already noticed a few red flags. I received a catalog in the mail a few weeks ago. Went on their website and when I provided the EZ number from my catalog, it couldn't locate my account. I ended up registering and somehow received an entirely different account number. I placed an order for a mini fridge and received a confirmation that my order would ship. I logged in a few days later and now there's a message saying it won't ship because I have to make a down payment first and need to call in, which makes it seem like I was never actually "preapproved" at all, despite what the catalog says.
They have been very good to me
They have been very good to me. Been with them 2.5 years. No problem with credit issues. I never return an item. I pay on time with auto pay. I have one more year to pay them off. I always call to place order and service is good to me.
Dissatisfied
Just over 2months after purchasing an item, it broke. After 2wks of back and forth calling,was finally given a claim and a repair center who would call me to arrange to get the item sent to them. They never called. I called after 4days,the repair company had no knowledge of my claim. After holding on the phone and being transferred to a second person,I was told that it was my responsibility to ship it to them. Mind you this is an item I paid $399 for,with the 2yr service plan it came to $479 not even 3months ago. I think this company should have a better system in place for dealing with repairs or replacements. Very disappointed.
