They Track You

wards.com rep told me this morning, because I was denied access to my online account, that the recent security update done company wide (so all its subsidiaries) and "we no longer allow customers to use duckduckgo.com to access their accounts." A light bulb went on immediately. "Because duckduckgo doesn't allow tracking your company can't track purchases and searches for marketing purposes." "That is correct. We no longer allow customers to use duckduckgo with our company." As politely as I could muster I told her I don't play that game. You don't determine what I use. You don't allow or forbid my free choice. That's gestapo stuff. Close all of my accounts. I will pay off my debt but I don't want anything to do with a company that plays games like that. IF you decide to get credit with them know you will be tracked which also means you can't use vpns or ad blockers with them. BE CAUTIOUS.

I have had 3 different address Disputes Opened since Aug 12, 2020 to have removed. Where credit from bank cards to loans inquries. NO WHERE CLOSE TO WHERE I LIVE OR EVER LIVED addresses given.

A MONTGOMERY WARD ACCOUNT WAS OPENED WITH THIS ADDRESS & ALINE OF CREDIT GIVEN WITH MERCHANDISE OREDED. NEEDLESS TO SAY NOT MINE!!! FOUND OUT IT WAS OPENED SOMEHOW ONLINE NO ONE FROM MONTGOMERY WARD BOTHERED TO VERIFY.
EXPERIAN TEAM MEMEBERS ARE AWFUL NO RESOLUTION. CONTINUE TO HAVE MORE ISSUES SINCE I HAVE SINGNED UP FOR SERVICE THEN I HAD BEFORE DOING SO.
Someone stole my identity and they have added the thief's info to my credit report knowing that the info is fraudulent. This happened AFTER they "closed/resolved" my case.

How can someone other than me open an account with you in my name? The person on the phone was not helpful and unclear from both MONTGOMERY WARD & EXPERIAN . THEY seemed confused and I had to repeat myself several times before THEY finally got it’ BUT NOT BEFORE GETTING HUNG UP ON BETWEEN BOTH OF THEM!
Now I’m the one having to fix this my time to file police reports along with contacts.

Return policy is the absolute worst!

I have been a customer for about 2 years and I purchased a product and returned it a week later with their return label. They claim they never received it and now I am paying for a product I returned! If you make a purchase with them, do not return it. If they lose it, you still have to pay for it. Also, they have the WORST customer service.

I have had a great experience with…

I have had a great experience with Montgomery ward. They helped me build my credit because they report to the 3 credit bureaus. They’ve been fair and gave me a good credit limit. Keep in mind I always pay on time. I would recommend them to everyone.

Horrible treatment

A few years ago, I bought a watch from Montgomery Ward online using their credit. I paid it off with monthly payments. Last year I bought a Bissell carpet cleaner from them for $130+tax and shipping-it came close to $300. I just made my final payment. I now decided to by a pair of $59 slippers-and they refused my credit. What? I told them to stop sending catalogs as I'm not interested in doing business with them anymore.

I will not order from this company EVER…

I will not order from this company EVER again. I placed a order & they never shipped my order. The tracking still shows Label Created, but no movement. Everytime I call Customer service, the rep keeps telling me my order has shipped.

I like MW's in some respects

I like MW's in some respects. They allow people to build up their credit rating when many other companies won't. So, they are similar to Fingerhut in that regard. They report to all 3 major credit bureaus. They reply to emails. But, they way over-charge for the shipping. I did some comparative research where I looked at 3 different products that were sold here, on Amazon, on Target, and on Walmart, and Ward's charged about 300% more for the shipping costs for the exact same items. So the weight was the same. The shipping destination was the same. The shipping containers were the same. All one can surmise is that they use their shipping expense as profit for them. Nothing else makes sense. For a small box of Christmas cookies that I ordered weighing about 2 1/2 pounds, they charged me almost $20. Twenty bucks for a 2 pound box. Even sites like Omaha Steaks, which is very expensive, charge much less for their shipping, even though the packaging is much more intricate because they use Styrofoam packaging with dry ice. Mont Ward's does not have a huge market, and I wonder why? They could sell much more product by having reasonable shipping rates, but with many more customers. Conclusion? I would use MW's a lot more but because of their back-handed way to keep afloat, I use them rarely now.

Bad experience!

I had a bad experience with this company. The credit department personnel is very arrogant. I contacted the company on or around November 17,2022. I made a new order and asked why they needed another credit check when I already had a credit account. They told me it didn't matter; this was their policy. The customer service in the credit department is not good. I do not recommend them to anybody. They're not a consumer friendly

Yeah I agree with every review that's here the blanket that I ordered from Montgomery Awards had bed bugs and had to throw it away my mattress away box springs headboard plus having to pay the bug man to get rid of them you think I'm paying this damn company no I will not pay them for this for it not when I am out all this damn money no they send you products with bed bugs and expect you to pay for them planet plus I still have bed bugs from their products plus I'm out over $2,000 from all this no I'm done with this company they can just go Bill somebody else

/I placed an order with Montgomery wards a few weeks ago under my account that I have had for several years already.The r gift was supposed to go to my daughters,she was the recipient./l 1I ordered through the website somehow Montgomery Ward opened up an account under her name without authorization they said the computer or the credit bureau across references addresses phone numbers etc. I noticed on my email that the billing was under her name like I said I do not understand how the account could have been transferred to her name anyway it's been two weeks I've been trying to dispute this each time each customer service agent including supervisors in the credit department gives me about 20 different stories on how to close the account and how to send the items back. Their employees do not communicate with each other you're transferred all over the place from one department to the next. Very frustrating two weeks. My daughter is now trying to close the account that somehow opened up the website I explained to them I did not open it because I have my own account how did it open when she was supposed to be the recipient? I will be paying my balance off and I am closing my account with Montgomery Ward basically anybody could just get known address and name go on to their website and create an account whether it be by accident or what have you luckily and my daughter's case I was the one sending her a gift. Their website is not secure or safe. Most of the customer representatives are rating of a card so they really don't know how to handle the situation most of the supervisors have been rude. Each time I'm transferred to a different person I have to explain the situation all over again because they're not understanding what I'm trying to say they're not reading the notes. This has been a very frustrating experience. Their customer service there were a few that were nice the rest were very rude and cannot comprehend the situation that I was explaining to them. I've called back numerous times and the last few weeks and spoke each time I called for over an hour and spoke to many representatives.

Don’t apply they are a scam

I opened my account in January and ordered and I would pay it off so I could start to build my credit. Everything was going good and I did more than doubled my initial credit line. Now in October I placed an order and I noticed there was a fraudulent order on my account I cancel it and call the loss prevention to report it. Their response was to cancel my account and I need to reapply and start all over again. Oh but they said I still need to pay what I owe on a canceled account. I feel like I am being punished for something I didn’t do. This company is a joke. I wish I would have read the reviews first because majority of the people have had problems with their accounts too, they don’t care about their customers.

bad expience

i order from montgomery ward almost 4 years ago i order a tablet that was not worth the money i was making monthly payment and made a 1 time late payment they placed it on my credit report so thinking i'll pay it off never order from them again so i called to ask if they take it off and they just told me no 3 more years it come off anyway and i have good credit now and 98 percent on time payment but i'll never order from them again

in 2020 i requested the account be closed because I had lost my wallet. It remained on the credit bureau all this time as "opened in good standing". I finally ordered something, they approved it, shipped it and now the credit bureau is telling me that the account has been closed. When I tried to get it straightened out with Montgomery Ward as instructed by credit bureau, I finally got to spoke with a Jackie (a very rude person) that told me in no uncertain terms I needed to speak with the credit bureau. Don't think I will ever deal with this company again. I have processed the payment in full.

Montgomery Wards Sells Couterfit Items!

I ordered a super plush sofa that claims to have foam stuffing. Instead of recieving foam, the sofa had bedsprings, probably from an old matress that was thrown onto the street!! Montgomery Wards are defenately fraudulent! The sofa looked nothing like the photo. This is considered false advertising and deceptive buisness practice! The sofa was hard and lumpy because the only material inside was springs that appeared to be inserted from an old matteress! The sofa was ugly and unatractive! Montgomery Wards is iniciating the sales of counterfit items!! The sofa also contaned defective side mounts where the screws were to be inserted. There is a solid bar behind the holes where we should have been provided screws for. There were only latches. The entire frame fell apart! My husband contacted customer service and demanded a refund! The customer represenative offered a replacement but when she noticed that I cought onto the product as counterfit she suddenly informed us that this product is no longer available! This company will be reported to the Federal Trade Commission and will be investigated! They messed with the wrong person! I have colledge level experience!!!!

Montgomery Ward SUCKS BIGLY!!!! It is the BIGGEST SCAM going!!!! I see why their stores closed....for public safety! If you get their catalog in the mail, burn it before they butcher your credit like they have mine. In an effort to establish good credit I fell for their catalog scam "Your Pre-Approved for $400". I placed a small order of $126 just to show timely payments to the credit bureau and pay it off quickly. After the items arrived and after not being able to log on to view my account and after begging their so called customer service dept for my due date I finally got logged onto my account only to discover that instead of approving me for the $400 their lying catalog stated, they only approved me for $100!!...which would have been fine had they let me know that BEFORE I placed my order but noooo, in an effort to fleece me for more money they pushed the $126 order through anyway which destroyed my credit utilization and DAMAGES MY CREDIT INSTEAD OF BUILDING IT!! ANTONIO and his supervisor FLORANCE in the credit dept were unwilling to adjust the credit limit even enough to cover the $26 it's over. Their solution was "Oh well, just wait for the bill and MAKE YOUR PAYMENTS" They don't give a toss that they've destroyed my credit!! And just to show their level of "winning customer service" I asked ANTONIO if I could close the account online after I make my payments because it's difficult to get to a live rep and once you get to her (the same one each time) she sounds drunk and every answer is "I don't know". ANTONIO couldn't wait to belt out "I can put in a request to close it right now!!" This is the most disgusting and unprofessional company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They're not even subprime, they're gutter! Suck it Montgomery Ward...Suck it!!!!

Bad for the credit score

It's easy to get credit, and the terms are great, but if you value your credit score, stay away. They let you exceed your credit limit and then keep the limit the same, thus killing your credit score. The credit department said they couldn't help me as everything is done automatically, whatever that means. Guess I'm going to pay it off asap and forget about them.
