I bought a set of three pots which came with a 25-year guarantee. A year later the lid on one pot was not sealing correctly but we put up with it, 18 months later the lid on a second pot broke - the attachment so you can lift the lid came away completely. It was not possible to repair as gluing glass and plastic doesn't work. I contacted Briscoes and was told they would replace the lids. two weeks later when I followed up I was told via email they had decided not to replace the lids as 2 years had passed since the purchase. Not good enough. What about being "fit for purpose" and the consumer guarantees act? I won't buy from Briscoes again.

I just brought an item via the website ON SALE. But click and collect was not available til the day after. Between the screens it voided the sale, Im guessing because it was not valid the day of collection even though we were paying during the sale date. We are breaking up the payments via afterpay and it would be so easy to just click and lose that extra money if you weren't paying attention or not quite computer comfortable. Moreso if you had multiple items in your cart! Feels extremely dishonest.

I wanted to acknowledge the wonderful customer service I received from a lovely young woman, Anneka who is based at the Taranaki Street Briscoes in Wellington last month. I went in querying an existing online order I had not yet received and she spent a lot of her giving me exclusive service to try and track it down. When she couldn't get the answers she needed from H/I, she promised to call me back a few days later and true to her word, she did and sorted it out and I received my order thereafter. I believe in giving an honest review of any positive customer experiences I have received from any retailer stores and to let everyone know that there are some wonderful customer facing people who make it their mission to give 100% service when dealing with customers and that is what I found with your lovely Anneka. She's a "gem" so please acknowledge her with this review from a very happy customer. Thank you Anneka and Briscoes 😊🤗

I give this review for one reason only - THIS COMPANY IS NOT HONEST. Many of their sale prices are advertised as 50% off or similar - when the 'normal' price has been vastly inflated over the recommended retail price by the manufacturer/wholesaler in order to justify the supposed 50% off. Pick a sale price, find out what other stores are selling it normally for, and my case is made.

Bought a pot and pan set online for in store pickup. Everything was going well until I got home and opened up to find a pan and lid were missing. Called briscoes customer service phone number and was told it was all on me to resolve the issue. Not only would I not be getting the coupon I used reissued, but I also would not be getting an compensation for the time or hassle. They also told me it was all on me to arrange getting a new set. Why have customer service if you aren’t going to action anything when the business makes a mistake? Will never be shopping here again

Bought a duvet cover on special, half price $119.00. Same brand at bed. Bath and beyond, $70.00.
Bruscoes is a rip off, I'll never buy from them again.

Hamilton store- Went in specially to purchase an item that showed as Available in store, the staff said their system showed x5 but they couldn’t find any. Even the manager was unable to help or offer the same product from another brand at the price advertised- disappointed I’ll take my business elsewhere

Ordered a $90 product advertised as in stock (as a birthday gift ) online - which still hadnt arrived a week later. I called back and was on hold for 15 minutes only to be told they had no idea when I could expect it and they and were keeping sending my order to different stores to fulfil and the ones they sent it to had no stock. I received no communications and not really any apology even though I requested one - and explained they should have some form of process so they could escalate the issue and what had happened internally so they could fix it to avoid it happening to others. Really made to feel like I was at fault for wasting their time. Definitely wouldn't recommend trusting their online ordering system. Happy to change this if Briscoes contact me to confirm that they are interested in improving their systems. Hope I get a refund quickly and dont need to chase that - so i can buy the product elsewhere

I bought a coffee machine worth $1500. When I got home it wasn't working. Took it back and they want to fix it instead than giving me a bew one. So I bought a new product at fulñ price and now I have a product that has already been fixed before I could even used it. Custumer support was awful as well.

I love a good sale - who doesn’t? However, Briscoes sales are nothing but regular clearance events to get rid of junk that nobody wanted to buy at the regular hugely inflated prices. Even at their sale prices they make a good profit. Damn, if we all did the same thing as Rod Drury then we’d all be gazillionaires living in St Mary’s Bay and fighting the neighbors to build a helipad.

The television adverts 50%off buy 2 is downright insulting and totally against what is being promoted by Treasury about restraint on spending. Shame on you!

I bought a dinner set couple weeks ago from the Whangarei store.
Price was $159.99 however was on sale for $69.99.
Thompson Pottery Tahiti Granite 16pc..opened up and only 12 pc in box.

Very disappointed

Don't offer a $10 voucher to people using online for the first time if it doesn't work (tried on 2 separate devices). I wanted 2 items that were not available at any store in a 30km radius according to the website so I paid $3 to click and collect in 2-4 days then got a message 11 minutes later to say they were ready to collect at my local store 5mins drive away. What a ripoff, they must have been in store the whole time and I ended up paying $13 more than I needed to. Be wary!!!

Don’t buy from here. Shop elsewhere. So hit and miss that it’s just not worth it. Customer service hides behind “process” and “laws” - but do not help in a genuine way. Complicate things and hide reviews on much of the junk they sell!

Recently bought umbrella from Briscoes on line, when I received it was missing cover. Rang customer service and they sent one to me. When it rained went to use umbrella and wouldn't open. Took it back to a store as customer service said I could wanting to exchange but the guy working there got it opened so thought it was fixed and ok. Went to use it yesterday in torrential rain and again would not open. Will be returning to shop for exchange or refund.

Sells overpriced products which will fail shortly after the warranty period ends. They also have recently started hiding reviews on their website, which is very untrustworthy because many of their products have poor reviews

Can't write reviews online, which when you have a good point you want to let others know about, is annoying and dodgy. Also for the candle enthusiasts, there is no details of neither burn time nor weight, which again, is annoying and dodgy.

Also bought a small $9 candle from briscoes and it smelt amazing in store, you go to light it up and you smell literally nothing! So deceptive!

amazing service at bush inn briscoes christchurch. had a faulty ice breaker mixer/blender, twice, (not briscoes fault, sunbeams fault) and it was replaced both times hassle free. full credit to the staff. a great customer service experience. payrises all round
