Extremely Shady, Avoid this Company
Avoid this company. They deceptively charged me £15 for a subscription I never intentionally signed up for, with absolutely no clear warning or follow-up emails confirming any subscription had been activated.
When I contacted customer service, they refused to properly resolve the issue and only offered a pathetic £5 refund. The entire experience felt extremely shady and misleading.
In my opinion, this company relies on unclear sign-up practices and hopes customers won’t notice recurring charges. I would strongly recommend staying away and checking your bank statements carefully if you’ve used them.

Difficulty with disputes
I've started using Checkmyfile to support me with raising disputes but I've found that 100% of the time, the disputes are never successful. As a vulnerable customer I've been prone to economic abuse and I was hoping that Checkmyfile would help me in raising these disputes with Experian, Equifax and TransUnion except every time they just get slammed down with a swift rejection. I believe Checkmyfile could do more to support vulnerable individuals and victims of economic abuse.

I'm sorry to hear that you didn’t realise we were a subscription service. While we offer a free trial at the start of service for new customers, we charge a subscription fee for accounts that remain active after the trial or for returning customers.
We do try to mention this throughout the account setup process, including on the registration page and when we ask for card details.

Found out somebody had been using my address and details for fraudulent loan , without checking, probably would’ve never found out

I’ve used Checkmyfile and, having tried other platforms, this is the one I trust the most.

An absolute scam. Richard from the customer service team has lied about a refund and only refunded less than a third of what I was owed. Please don't use this company.

Inactive accounts will continue to be charged regardless of it clearly being a mistake.
Maybe after seeing that the service wasn't used since day one they could contact a customer and inform them that they are paying £15 a month for nothing and that they may have forgotten about it, all good though, I noticed after 12 payments that it was still running and they gave me 1 back out of goodwill....

Efficient and Thorough
Efficient, easy to complete and then almost instant access to a downloadable report of my adult life's history of addresses and credit. This searched the 3 main credit check agencies all in one too! Free week was enough to get a report for my mortgage advisor. And if I need to access the report again in the future, it'll only cost £15.
