Mis-sold stairs, difficult refund
I bough a set of stairs called KRONOS which claim they 'can be adjusted to suit lower heights by adjusting the tread spacing'. There was no 'adjustment' possible, so I called Dolle UK to be told I needed to cut the thick metal. This would of needed a metal working workshop to do precisely and accurately, plus the banisters would of then needed redrilling and cutting. These stairs are in no way 'adjustable', they have to be cut and reworked to fit different floor heights! I told them the product was mis-sold, and so I had decided to return them, but they refused to pay return postage. This would of at least been courteous, but they did not apologise and refused to help.
I initiated the return, and had to pay an extra £75 to have the pallet collected. Once it was collected, they took almost a month to refund me, and never confirmed if the pallet had arrived. This process involved many phone calls and emails, and frustration. Although they always answered the phone and were polite, the person in charge of refunds was always busy/away. In the end, I had to go to my bank, submit my evidence to them, and they pushed Dolle UK to refund me.
I don't know if Dolle would have refunded me in the end, but the whole process was a nightmare, a hassle, and the product is still for sale on their site with an incorrect description. I bought stairs from OakFactor instead, who told me they actually make some of the parts of Dolle. Oakfactor stairs are much higher quality.
I would honestly avoid at all costs, unless you can see the product in person before you buy.
