corporate policies are horrible
corporate policies are horrible! sinks had hot water but not the shower. pool was unusable. dirty floors. breakfast was a joke. smell of weed everywhere. outside was littered with trash and a shopping cart. never gonna stay at any ESA hotel and neither should you!
A smoked up Nonsmoking room, inadequate bedding, dirty sink and bath, no phone, and no breakfast.
The worse hotel experience I have ever had in my 5-decades of travel. I don’t mind staying in a 3 star/out of 5 star hotel. I can take a small level of subpar, but my March 4, 2025 overnight at Extended Stay America Suites Fort Worth Medical Center was the WORSE! By Far! The Worse! No way this is a 3 star hotel. 1 Star is being generous.
1) Start with, my NONSMOKING room was reeking of smoke! I often puke when smelling cigarette smoke. I immediately went back to the check in desk to be moved. The clerk said she didn’t have a room available for me to move to. Huh? There weren’t that many cars in the parking lot and I passed by many dark rooms at 8pm from my assigned room of 200 when I walked back to the front desk. I find it hard to believe that there wasn’t somewhere to move me and my sister in a 97-room, two-story hotel.
An Aside: I saw the morning clerk accept cash, even though your policies say credit card only. “This property accepts credit cards; cash is not accepted” Is this why there was no where to move us and the one room did reek of smoke—no fine????
When I complained about the smoke (the green smoke just about blasted out of the room when we first entered the room), the clerk gave a lazy “Yeaaah” and then added “We tell people not to smoke in nonsmoking rooms but they do it anyway. There’s nothing we can do about it.”
• How about fining people, like other hotels do—I have signed into hotels agreeing to pay $250 fine if I smoke in the room.
• Your Hotels.com wording says: “SMOKING: The hotel is a non-smoking hotel, smoking is prohibited anywhere inside the building. If you wish to smoke you must step outside. There is a $250 smoking fee if you smoke inside the building or tamper with the first alarm” ***ENFORCE IT!!!!!!*** Have you read the reviews of the many people who complained about smelling smoke???????
• How about the maids when they enter the room and smell the stench, leave open the hotel door, blast the A/C, and report it.
• The hotel’s webpage touts that it is a NO SMOKING HOTEL. Tell the truth in your advertising: “We allow smoking in nonsmoking rooms.”
Resigned to the hotel room because we were past the cancellation time, my sister and I left the door open, despite the 45-degree weather, and blasted the A/C for an hour.
2) We noticed a blob of toothpaste and a few dark hairs in the sink. Yuck!!!
3a) The two double beds only had a total of 3 pillows. When I requested a fourth pillow—
4) oh, the phone didn’t have a plug, but you advertise you have phones in the room, you just don’t have WORKING phones in the rooms
3b) so I had to walk back to the front desk—
I was told the hotel was out of pillows. REALLY?
5) The beds did not have blankets—for that cold room on a cold night. Fortunately, we were given blankets, but thin ones, when I made yet another trip to the front desk.
6) The next morning, neither one of us wanted to take a shower, as the tub was just gross in color.
The extra big kicker was the so-called free breakfast, Served 6-9:30am. I went back to the front desk to get our breakfast. NOPE! Cold coffee and only enough for just one cup, until another batch could be made “10-15 minutes”.
I had my pick of three slender Nutri grain bars. Three. That was all that was out there. No fruit or even napkins. When I asked where the breakfast was, I was told “Greedy People.” Again, “nothing we can do about Greedy people taking it all.”
• How about put the breakfast items out in stages: 1/3 at 6am, 1/3 at 7am, and the final third at 8am.
• How about checking the coffee, instead of reading the newspaper?

5 days in Miami Airport and a nightmare. No breakfeast (just a coffee and a muffin) our room never cleaned. The pool never opened. The worst "hotel" I never been in my all life ...
Great Customer Service Clean Rooms…
Great Customer Service Clean Rooms Really A Wonderful Stay
A nightmare
A nightmare! If I could give them a zero, I would’ve. Please don’t stay at the Extended Stay of America in Columbia Corporate Park, MD.
I encountered major cleanliness, and damage room. The carpet was filthy, and the restroom was not clean. The condition of the property was seriously neglected. The amenities were not as advertised. I took pictures of the room because I couldn’t believe it.
I never stayed in an extended stay where in the kitchen had a label that stated , “For ventilation purposes, remember to open your window, while cooking”. I stayed at this place during the winter time, and the temperatures were very cold outside. The breakfast was just a muffin, and coffee.
The noise levels made it difficult to sleep. It was supposed to be a smoke free hotel, and in the room I could smell the smoke.
I was supposed to stay for 28 days and I left after 3 days.
Avoid this place at all costs!
NO HOT WATER!! NO PLUNGER AND TRUST ME HOW BACKED UP THEIR SYSTEM IS YOU WILL NEED ONE!!
NO HOT WATER!! KITCHEN SINK STAYS BACKED UP!! TOILET OVERFLOWS AND THE HOTEL DOESNT EVEN HAVE ONE PLUNGER FOR A FLOOD 😡 The man hangs up on me because I’m appalled they have no plunger for 100+ toilets in the hotel!! They literally just want to take y’all money and expect y’all to deal with their raggedy hotel!
Very combative, and full of racism
Extended Stay America - Review (Poor communication, poor customer service and blatant Racism)
After deciding to move to Orlando, FL, I booked a 1 month stint at Extended Stay America. It was listed as pet friendly hotel with no mention of an upcharge during the booking process. They did however simply make an extra charge of $28/Day to my credit card WITHOUT discussion or permission.
When I Complained to the front desk, they had no desire to resolve the issue in a professional manner. Rather, they simply called the police to have me kicked-out- claiming that I didn’t pay the pet fee. (Which I DID pay because they FORCIBLY put the fees on my credit card without notification or permission. (That is what we call - Credit Card Fraud).
When they called the police they felt the need to call-out my ethnicity (Asian). It was the most racist moment I ever experienced in my life. (Imagine if you called the cops and said, “well, they’re Black so… what do you expect?”
The police arrived and were as racist as the Extended Stay Front Desk. Saying they couldn’t even allow me the required time to remove my property from the premises. I just had to “get-out” immediately.
When we went up to the room to speak to my CAUCASIAN husband, all of the officers attitudes changed in a split second. “How much time do you need sir?” Etc.
I thought moving to a Major American city would remove me from low IQ redneck and ghetto racism- apparently not!
If you like poor communication, underhanded business practices and blatant racism, then Extended Stay America is definitely the hotel for you. Tell your friends.

Cuando llegué noté que no habían almohadas me tocó ir a pedirlas y además esperé por ellas. A parte la habitación estaba oliendo a mucho Clorox pero estaba sucia la habitación. El TV no funciona no hay wifi. Muchas cucarachas pequeñas and do por todo lado. El aire hace mucho ruido y bota un olor a quemado terrible.
Valencia Dirty Hotel
Valencia , California Extended Stay is the dirtiest hotel I have ever seen anywhere in the world.
No towels, no hangers.
NEVER NEVER STAY THERE
Review: Terrible Experience - Don’t Book Here!
This was the worst place I've ever stayed. I highly recommend not booking here. My issues weren't just with the room itself, but with the shocking customer service and the dismissive attitude of the front desk staff.
I booked a 2-night stay for $150, but as soon as I walked into the room around midnight, I noticed things were off. The floor was dirty, and in the morning, I realized it was greasy and hadn't been cleaned properly. It made me question if the bed sheets had been changed at all.
When I requested a refund for the second night, the staff said it was "too late to check out" and refused. I asked to speak with a manager, but apparently, the manager was on vacation and "unreachable." When I asked about a broken water machine, they simply said it "wasn’t their problem."
The front desk attendant even told me that they weren’t concerned about negative reviews, as it wouldn't affect their business. The attitude was unbelievable.
For the quality of the stay, this place is worth about $30 a night—not more. Save your money and go somewhere else. This was a terrible experience, and I won’t be back.

I wish that I could give this hotel a…
I wish that I could give this hotel a "ZERO!" booked this hotel as a long-term stay from August 2024 t0 2025. I did not make it to 2025. As the General Manager - Candice has a very nasty demeanor about herself and is beyond rude. The way she talks to her employees are horrible and a lot of them have quit and some are getting ready to quit. She tends to talk to guests in the same unprofessional manner as if they're animals until the situation turns into a shouting match and she is threatened she then tends to hide her hands a play victim. She always tells guests "That's just the way I talk." I don't know where this lady gets management skills from, but she does not know how to run a hotel properly. She has so many complaints against her but the reason she is still there is because the regional manager over her is her friend and the friend's mother is over the both of them so they are all a little friend group. The timeframe I stayed there from August to October I only got my room cleaned ONCE! She kept giving excuses of why housekeeping didn't come clean my room blaming it on them and all the time it's her just lying in which I had to continue to complain until it was cleaned. The first few nights that I stayed there I kept getting locked out of my room due to the doors’ key card system constantly breaking down in which she had to accommodate me for the inconvenience. Not because she wanted to with her FAKE ASS APOLOGY but because she knows the entire situation was unprofessional. Also, I wrote to corporate and regional (her friend) and she was mad that I got the information to do that and lied and said that person isn't over the hotel and don't call regional anymore. She questioned all her employees to see who gave me the number to regional (her friend) in which I told her a guest gave it to me. Candice does not care about anyone but herself. She seems to think the people at this hotel are her friends, but they are not. She has some guests she shows favor to and let them not pay and have high balances and she have some that she put out for being late one night. She had an employee living there and working there at the same time and she used to come behind the counter with night clothes on and service guests until she fired her, but I found out they used to be friends too. The coffee taste horrible due to the coffee canister is never clean and they serve the same coffee grounds every morning and don't wash out the canister pot and that why it tastes so horrible and the snack she serves majority of the time has mold on them because they aren't being stored properly. The only employee that I have ever seen cleaning the coffee pot and making sure snacks are fresh out Ms. Janette. Candice allows dog poop all over the place with NO consequences to the owners and just doesn’t care how the property looks inside and out. The pool was green and nasty the entire time I lived there. The carpets were beyond nasty and not to mention homeless people would wait until she was gone to come sleep in in the staircase on the nasty ass carpet. The whole hotel was out of toilet paper because she didn't order none and guests were giving people Kleenex as an option to have in place of toilet paper. I also found out from listening to the guest that she has used her corporate card and allowed a guest in room 134 if i am not mistaken to purchase kid items and things she needed up to $300 in which she isn't supposed to do. People have said a lot of things that Candice does unprofessionally and that she does a lot of things that she is not supposed to do. Some of the guests have also talked about her committing fraud with FEMA. When she is not there all everyone does is sit and talk about the things she doesn't do and wonder why they haven’t found someone else to run the hotel because she is not a good fit. CANDICE IS HORRIBLE and all of her complaints need to be taken into consideration, and she needs to be dismissed from that position.

i own my own company and was calling around for rates and the manager leanne was very great and helpful. I did book a room it was very clean and every one was very helpful while i stayed. It was one of the cleanest hotels i have been in. i will be going back
No wifi AT ALL
No wifi AT ALL. If you want to go to a business meeting smelling like weed after walking through the halls, this is the place for you! The microwave in my room was filthy, no utensils, plates, soap or paper towels one would expect from an extended stay hotel (they provide no services or basic amenities; the covid excuse is a sham). No security cameras in the parking lot. I feel sorry for the employees that are left holding the bag. Management is pathetic and could not care less. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
Dirty place. Feels like a homeless shelter.
The front desk guy was rude. The hallways to room smell like animal waste. Bathroom was clean but no soap. Bed was uncomfortable, noisy, and I could feel the mattress coils. Pillows were flat and smelled like smoke (non smoking room). Clean kitchen but it had no pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or dish soap. No iron or ironing board. Exposed micro-closet with 4 hangers. Tiny kitchen tables with no chairs (staff confirmed we had to eat standing up as they provide no chairs in any room). No desk to work on, nothing to sit on. People staying here looked homeless: place felt like a shelter for homeless. Felt unsafe. Definitely not recommended.

I was told a certain rate per week.4 20 80% of everything in the motel did not work. The TV was broke. The oven did not work.. Eighty percent of the receptacles did not work... They said I was smoking in my room... Never smoked in the room... They charged me $700 $300.Saying I smoked in the room.... It's 85° outside. They have the pool shut down...

Thank you Jeremy for hosting my one month stay while I wait for furniture during my relocation for work! Thecstay made my relocation a pleasure!! He runs a very tidy, safe, updated and modern hotel in north Portland. The staff is so very welcoming, hospitable, helpful and thoughtful.
Great Changes
Since I have been staying here the management has changed and the new manager Pam has been making improvements to the property. My air conditioner was leaking, and maintenance came and tried to fix it and replaced it with a new unit promptly. The hallways have been nice and clean without the smell of marijuana lingering when you walk out of your room. Keep up the good work!
