I walked into extended stay Timonium, MD. Nobody was at the desk or anywhere to be seen. After calling out 4 times “Excuse Me”, a young man about 20-22 appeared behind the desk. I asked if he had a... Voir plus

stayed at Prov RI location
stayed at Prov RI location. The most filthy facility I have ever witnessed. Carpets were disgraceful, stains from one end of the hallway to the other, furniture in room was worn & ripped, I have several photos. No breakfast provided, exception was an empty Dunkin Donut box in lobby. Dead rat outside door of front entrance. Several questionable people roaming inside & outside building all hours of the night. we left after 2 days and went to another hotel because we felt disgusted by the filth of this facility and unsafe. This facility is not a hotel, it is a rooming house and Board of Health should be contacted.
The new manager
The new manager, Javier, came on board on Monday, August 5th, 2024, after 3 inefficient manager to 216 S Goldenrod Road in Orlando, Florida. We have a lot of smokers guests living on the property. These individuals took the front entrance as a "Designated Smoking" Area. Finally he took out today the "Smoking Stand" next to the dumpster. Now those guests had to move 15 feet away from the entrance to smoke. THANK YOU 😊
Really an overall BAD experience.
I checked in for 11 nights. The price and proximity to a work project seemed to work. It's an efficiency unit, so I thought I'd be comfortable. There were no dishes, no utensils, no pots or pans, no toaster and no coffee maker; not even a roll of paper towels. I had to specifically ASK for these items. They were out of coffee makers the first night. This is now night #5 and there are none. I bought my own paper towels. It's not terribly clean. The carpets are stained. The bed seems old and needs to be replaced. Locks were changed during the day, and workmen never cleaned up the sawdust and wallboard dust when they were done. No common sense. The good news is there are some very pleasant front desk people who seem to sincerely want to help, but their hands are tied. Never, ever again will you see me, Extended Stay America. I've had decent success with Candlewood Suites and will continue looking for them when I travel. I travel a LOT on business and have for decades. Trust me: you do NOT want to consider this property if you want a clean, stocked, quiet and comfortable place.
Great service.
We were moving and spent several …
We were moving and spent several days in Scottsdale ESA. Thinking it was like LA Quinta with a kitchen and refrigerator we thought it would be convenient.
In actuality kitchen glasses, cups etc were add ons you could get for extra, I told them after the first night we didn't need maid service just empty the garbage.and supply new towels. I was told if we bring towels to the office they would exchange them, there is no maid service and as a special treat the dumpster was behind the building and we could dump our own garbage. The TV only showed a 6 in square in the upper corner. The manager was quick to come to the room and apologize for what many guests who didn't know the secret way to turn the TV on without causing thus issue. It was entertaining however watching the roaches in the bathroom.
I wouldn't put this on your must visit list.
ROBBERY is a thing - Stay Away!!!
I GOT ROBBED of all my belongings, and Extended Stay has NOT taken responsibility!
I was at the start of relocating from California to Maryland. On June 15, 2024, my gf and I left the room in the morning, came back in the afternoon and all my things were GONE! I only had the clothes on my back and some toiletries that were left behind. As we reported it to the front desk the manager was called and it appeared that he was not bothered. He refused to talk to us and preferred to ping-pong messages between the front desk and us. Poor leadership by the manager Rajesh. I called 911. They came, filed a report, and checked for cameras which are not working. There was no indication of forced entry. Per the evidence of the initial investigation of the officer, she believed we were targeted and this was an inside job or someone who knows how to open hotel doors. It is quite alarming how much this was conducted in such a clean manner.
The next day I had a performance outside of the country so I had to borrow shoes from my best friend and also had to do some last minute late night shopping for some clothes, so frustrating! My girlfriend visited the hotel again to speak with the manager in person. He claimed there was no record of the door being opened during those hours, which means what? Somehow my things all of a sudden vanished?! Let me add, we were not allowed to see the readings from the door reader that shows all the entries into the room, suspicious? My gf called corporate and they informed us a case was opened and within a day it was closed without us being contacted! SO unprofessional and so underhanded! How is this guest servicing?!
This is the most frustrating part. My gf called the corporate office for the third time and demanded to speak with someone higher within ESA. That didn’t happen but the insurance company called. The adjuster that was in charge of investigating our case, Wendi Sweigert, informed us that “robberies are hard to prove.” It felt as though she was insinuating that we could’ve faked the whole thing. If you ask me, without executing a proper and thorough investigation, that’s a weak excuse to avoid responsibility. They claim that the most I can get for this situation is $300 under the “Innkeeper Law.” And I was told I need to produce receipts of lost items. I don’t know about you but I don’t have receipts of things purchased over the course of 8+ years. A detective also called seeking serial numbers of devices, yikes!
I am a performer/singer, I produce and I create so I had most of my tools for my trade with me. The $300 is not enough to cover 4% of the things that I lost: A laptop, a drone, a Mevo webcam, 5 external hard drives, brand new clothes, important personal papers, unfinished works, my children’s memories, branded merch, shoes, EVERYTHING!!! And some of those things can’t be replaced with no amount of money, so very devastating!
I am voicing my devastation. To be ignored and treated as though you are the perpetrator instead of the victim is hard. The mind games of “we’ll give you a call tomorrow” and no calls come. All actions on their part felt like tactics to get you tired. We’re not talking about a tiny situation, this was my whole life of products and memories and work that I can not replace. This is big and it happened under your roof ESA, respond now! All the unethical tactics are disgusting. Defend your business but make room for those who are really affected under your services. Since then, when I travel, I experience anxiety leaving the hotel thinking “what should I do with my things?” It has messed with my head!
If you choose to stay at ESA this company will NOT be on your side if something goes wrong. My stay here resulted in a costly mistake. ESA, show that you care and take real responsibility! We are beyond the light hearted condolences. It’s not sincere anymore, you have our contacts, a police report, conversation records, calls and emails. Time to actually be for the guest.
What a fuc&!ng sh!thole
Worst worst hotel experience
Booked a hypoallergenic room and found clumps of dog hair rolling across the floor of the room when we entered. When we informed them they said we could check another room. That room also had dog hair on the floor and had one single bed for three people. We were promised a full refund by the manager before we left that hotel to try find another one on the fly. The front desk informed us before we left that for future reference this was an animal hotel. So much for hypoallergenic. We spoke to the Extended Stay Customer Relations four times always with a promise to get a reply within 48 hours. Never got a reply. Called the hotel three times during normal business hours and the front desk said the manager was not working that day or manager not available. But with a promise each time of the hotel contacting us within 48 hours. Running a hotel without a manager? Never got a response. Starting to see a trend here. Now seven weeks later we have no response from any party. We called today and Extended Stay CSR said that they emailed the hotel and their District Manager a number of times and never got a reply from either. They will contact us within 48 hours. Again. There is that pesky 48 hours. Again. HORRIBLE experience.
BUYER BEWARE!
BUYER BEWARE!! This place is an ABSOLUTE SCAM! I booked a room for 7 days to benefit a young lady who was kicked out of her family home. Two days later, we were able to locate a shelter that would accept her, so we checked her out. Upon receiving what I believed to be a partial refund, no folio was ever provided, I was told that we were charged a “re-rate” because we had checked out early and did not stay the entire 7 days! There’s NO WAY in hell I would pay the exorbitant rate that these folks charged me per day to stay at this “hotel”. I could’ve booked the damn Peabody for that rate! What’s worse is that NOTHING was evident that such “re-rate” action was even possible as we were booking the room. It’s a SCAM, and if this is how business is conducted it should be VERBALLY EXPRESSED to the guest upon arrival…NOT reportedly buried in some policy which I don’t see. Not only will I NEVER book at this chain again, I will make sure that everyone I speak to about booking rooms NEVER considers this SCAM of a “business” ever again!
The total experience was terrific
BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM
I'm staying at the Orchard hill Novi. Mi. location, this hotel is very quite and clean, the desk staff Joe is awesome and so polite and so are the cleaning staff. I get a knock at least once a week offering to clean my room. I always decline, but they take the extra step and ask do I need towels, etc. That type of courtesy go a long way with me because you just don't find service in that manner anymore. Now for the manager, ASHLEY. she has the best customer service skills that you will find in any hotel chain. She is very direct, honest and always willing to answer any questions about your stay. She greets you soon as you walk into the hotel with a beautiful smile and by name. I have had up to 30 employees to stay for at least 4 weeks and most of them has had good things to say about her before they left. I believe she is the manager at the other location on Haggerty Novi. where some of our group stayed and she has made an impact on them too. Even though this location is further from our job site, we always look forward to staying at these two locations. Extended Stay is the most affordable place with a home away from home feel, and the kindness the staff shows, stands above any high price hotel in this area.
It was good overall but there were a few glitches
It was clean and quiet, except one night when I picked up someone next door that had an ill-behaved kid. The evening office wasn't too keen on finding out who it was. But when the kid woke me up at Came, the morning staff got right on it. They lost a star on that one. I also don't like that I was there for 20 days and didn't get my room cleaned.
Bed Bug - Worst Experience Ever
I was a first time visitor to the State of Rhode Island. Reservations were made at the Extended Stay America hotel on June 14th, for a 2 night stay during Fathers' Day weekend. We had a very late check in on Friday night. We went straight to our room and crashed. About 30 minutes later, I was awaken due to itching on my left hand and arm. I discovered red marks on my arm and hand. I was bit up and assumed it was by a bed bug. I immediately reported the incident to the staff member on duty named Ericka. I showed her my arms and hand. Ericka instructed me to bring the linen from the bed for an exchange. I asked Ericka if I could be moved to another room and she indicated that there were no available rooms to make the switch. I went back to my room (319) to grab the linen and at that time, i discovered a bed bug crawling on the pillow case. I took a video of the bed bug, photos of my hand and arm immediately after that. I took the linen to the front desk, showed the bedbug to Erica and handed it to her smashed on the pillow case, as evidence of the bed bug.. We could not sleep and i had to leave the lights on becuae I was petrified. The following morning, I spoke with the staff member Kalaya or Shalaya, was her name. She reviewed the video and said "yes that's a bed bug." She apologized and said she had an experience with them when she was younger. I told her that I was not sure it was a bed bug because I had never seen them before. She issued a refund for my reservation for June 15th, and indicated that their pest control company would have to inspect the bed and based on their findings I may or may not receive a refund, for my prior night stay. I provided the video to her of the bed bug crawling on the pillow case, in addition to photo's of my swollen hand and bruised arm, to forward to the manager. The refund was denied due to my claim not having any evidence of a bed bug and the photos were not clear. Management does not take their guest feedback or unpleasant experience or concerns seriously. Avoid this franchise if possible.
My short stay at the Wyoming
My short stay at the Wyoming, MI Select Suites far exceeded my expectations. I know that extended stayhotels are somewhat different than regular hotels. The property is clean and well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. I will be staying at this hotel again.
This places not same as picture shows
This places not same as picture shows. Last time I stayed Tampa, and I can't use stove. Now I am in Clearwater, they out of kitchen packages because full house.
I can have late light dinner because receptionist helped me.
Please up grade ,or take out the nice looking posters please.
I thought it is really nice place to stay with decent prices.
Extended StayAmerica, where the Care isn’t there!
### Social Media Post Against Extended Stay America, Fort Lauderdale Tamarac
Extended Stay America claims on their website that it’s "where the care is always there." Let me tell you, that’s a blatant lie. My recent stay at their Fort Lauderdale Tamarac location from 5/13-5/14 was an absolute nightmare, and I need your help to get justice and spread the word.
I paid with my credit card to avoid a security deposit, but they charged me one anyway. The internet wasn’t working, and at midnight, both my room keys failed. I was locked out, and the late-night service phone didn’t work. There was no one in the office. I called the 800 number multiple times and was finally let back in after 1 AM!
The next day, I tried to extend my stay through Priceline but faced issues. Although the front desk granted me a late checkout, my new reservation didn’t get completed until after 12:30 PM due to problems with Priceline. The General Manager publicly confronted me from a balcony about my reservation and a pet deposit I knew nothing about. It was humiliating. They banged on my door, demanding another $100 incidental fee and a pet fee. The $100 I had already paid was refunded, taking 3-5 business days, instead of being used for my next stay.
To make matters worse, after banging on my door and demanding I come to the office to pay the $100 security deposit and pet deposit, they proceeded to call the room phone and my cell phone while I was on the phone with a customer resolution team. Yes, this entire ordeal happened while I was on the phone with the customer resolution team, stressed beyond belief.
Extended Stay America, you took my deposit and refunded it, knowing it would be tied up instead of using it for the new reservation I told you was on the way. I couldn’t come up with another $100 because I had already given you $100, leaving my room with all of my things and my animals at risk. When I finally managed to provide the paid-for reservation through Priceline and come up with the additional funds, you refused to allow me to stay. I was placed outside in 90-degree weather with a cat and a dog because the manager didn’t like the way I was handling it with customer service.
This situation was handled in an embarrassing, unprofessional, and degrading way. If this is how they treat their customers, I highly suggest nobody come here. They will tell you I was issued a refund through Priceline, but that refund won’t come for at least 24 hours. So essentially, I paid for the hotel room, they tied up $100 for my security deposit, and now I’m out that money and cannot get another hotel room. They knew this when they put me out on the sidewalk and didn’t care, standing behind "company policy."
I'm reaching out to any attorneys who might be able to offer legal advice on how to proceed. If you've had a similar bad experience with Extended Stay America, please share your story and spread the word. Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
Extended Stay America claims on their website that it’s "where the care is always there." This is clearly not true. #ExtendedStayAmerica #WorstHotelExperience #CustomerServiceFail #LegalAdviceNeeded #ShareYourStory
AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
This Extended Stay was a complete nightmare!! The room was disgusting, the whole entire place was disgusting. I was nauseated the entire time that we were there. We did NOT feel safe at this hotel!!! They left a note under our door saying that they were going to do a mandatory check of the a/c in our room at 9am on Sunday, but they didn't show up until around 2pm. My son had fallen asleep, and I was trying to fall asleep.
We checked out early, and my son turned in our hotel key/cards. I just talked with a manager and because my son didn't ask to cancel our reservation, they completely refuse to refund us any money. I had the reservation from Friday, May 10th- Friday, May 17th. We are homeless and I don't have any money to buy food at all. And the jerk manager at this hotel refuses to give me any refund at all. Not only that, but he also claims that if we'd "officially" checked out on Monday morning, then we'd owe them $800 because of Texas Tech's graduation. We checked out on Monday, after the graduation. I've just emailed my lawyers about this. The corporate office is giving me the same run around.
I'm sure that they don't believe me when I say that I contacted my lawyers. The law firm is Ross and Matthew in Fort Worth, Texas. When y'all hear from them, then you'll believe me.
I stayed at the extended stay elmsford…
I stayed at the extended stay elmsford for 6 months with my 6 kids and partner during my stay the Superviors AMANDA begin a very sexual relationship with my partner. This have caused so much emotional disfunction in my home my kids are father less. My kids are crying for him every night they don’t know how to process or accept this! Amanda as supervisor is trained to enforced policy well she didn’t imply them to herself. She deserves to be disciplined to the full extent
We booked the hotel through Hotels.com
We booked the hotel through Hotels.com. The only reason we booked was because it had an indoor pool and it was my daughter’s spring break. Upon arriving, we were told the pool was closed for renovation. They told us we would have to get our refund through Hotels.com. I spent multiple hours and three days back-and-forth with Hotels.com to find out that it was actually the hotel that needed to Give a refund so we could change hotels and find a new pool. The hotel manager would not speak to me or return my calls after calling five times and then I reached out to the district manager. After reaching out to the district manager four days in a row, she also would not return my phone call . I was not able to get a refund and ended up having to stay there regardless. The entire hotel smelled of marijuana and you could never find anybody working there. There was no free breakfast because no one was stocking it each morning and we were woke up two of the three days by hammering and saws because apparently the entire floor that we were staying I was being renovated and nobody bothered to tell us. It was one of the worst hotel I have ever had and there is zero customer service, and nobody will make it right Once they have your money.
Beware of the one on Reese Rd
Well I am working away from home and the company that I work for had me staying at this hotel for over a year. The weekly rent is not cheap. Several times the company forgot to make the payment but always but they always made good on it. Towards the end of my stay at that certain hotel the company forgot one last time to pay. I was contacted by the receptionist of the situation. I was asked on a Sunday to pay for that night because the company had only paid until that Saturday. To avoid being kicked out I paid for that night with my personal credit card. I checked my statement about a week later and found out that the receptionist charged me two extra nights. She never told me she planned to charge me for those nights and the receipt I got from her was for one single night. I contacted their main office on two separate occasions and both times said they were going to investigate. Up to this day I have not even received as much as a call from them telling me if their findings or worst yet I never got a refund. I will never stay at any of their hotels ever again. They are crooks. That place was dirty and full of roaches also. I guess it goes well with that receptionist.
