Filth and bugs

Filth and bugs. This is the Richmond, VA Broad street south location. 6811 paragon place. I complained to the front desk and the man laughed at me. I checked out and tried to tell the lady there's bugs in the room and she smiled and acted like I wasn't complaining at all. This stay has scared me for life. I will never try extended stay again. I wish I could post the pictures.

If it were possible I would leave -10… Stay Away From This Place.

If it were possible I would leave -10 stars. I am involved with lawyers now, because we made an "advanced purchase" reservation at this location, for which the payment was never charged and the reservation did not show up in our extendedstay.com account... we were under the understanding that we did not have a reservation, yet weeks later we were charged 1000s of dollars anyway as a "no show." The policy clearly requires "advanced prepayment" which they never charged when we initially tried to reserve the room...  We called to have this resolved, and they treated us very unprofessionally and hung up on us as a response. When we called the national number, they were equally inflexible/unreasonable and would not allow us to speak to a manager at all. I would advise that you stay as far away as possible from this place.

Discrimination of a 100% Disable American Veteran with a Service Dog by Extended STAY AMERICA HOTEL

Extended STAY AMERICA Hotel, located at 1220 E. 2100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106
On 02/11/2024 I called Extended STAY AMERICA and made a reservation for Confirmation No # 9718315527, Stay Details, Check in Date: Feb 11, 2024, Number of Nights:213, Check Out Date Sep 11, 2024, Check In Time: 03:00:00 PM. Upon this reservation, I advise the representative I had two service dogs and that, we were going to check the property to make sure it was to our likings. She assured me it would be no problem. When we arrived at the property, we left my service dogs secured in our SUV until we checked the room. We entered the front office and proceeded to identify ourselves to the assistant Manager named Velma, she asked, where were my service dogs. We told Velma that my service dogs were left in the car because we wanted to check-out the room, before we got the dogs out of the car. Velma guided us to the assigned room, which by the way, it wasn’t anything like in the pictures provided on the website. The room was very small and was carpeted. The picture on the hotel website showed a beautiful large room without carpet. We told the assistant manager that this room wasn’t anything like the one in the website pictures. she replied, yes because we are assigning you a pet friendly room. I made her aware that my dogs weren’t pets, that they were working/service dogs and that she could not just assigned me a pet-friendly room. I said assigning a pet friendly room, was in direct violation of the ADA directives. She got very upset and kept on arguing and telling me that they always assigned service dogs to pet rooms because they were consider pets. I told her, I wanted to see the manager, she said I'm the assistant manager. I insisted on seen the manager. At this time, we left the room and returned to the front office, she went directly into the manager's office. The manager came out to the front desk with a very defiant and loud voice, asked, where are your services dogs. I replied, they are in the car because we wanted to check out the assigned room before we made a decision. The manager in a very offensive tone, told me, your dogs are not service dogs, because service dogs had to be with the handler at all times. I tried to explain that he was wrong by assuming they weren’t service dogs, he was being so loud and offensive with his body language, I told him that he didn’t need to get so hostile. While all this was going on, the assistant manager proceeded to tell us, that they were actually denying Hotel services and we could make an official complaint to the corporation. The manager in a very hostile way, handed me a business card and said, “here is my name”, and proceeded to point out at the door. At this time, I told the assistant manager, that I would like to have the reservation Showing I was denied services and signed. she did so and handed me the copy and we exited the front office.
I felt humiliated, angry and betrayed by these individuals. Hotel staff should be aware of the guidelines and accommodate the needs of guests with service animals accordingly. There’s no legal requirement for constant presence. The American Disability Act (ADA) does specify that a person most have their service dog with them at all times in public areas of the Hotel. If a handler feels the need to bring the service dog alone, they are allowed to do so. However, there is no legal obligation for constant presence. if the handler is eating at the hotel restaurant, it is generally acceptable for the service animal to be left alone in the handler’s room. However, it’s essential to ensure that the service animal is comfortable and safe during this time.
Can hotels assign designated rooms for guests with service animals out of consideration for other guests?
No. A guest with a disability who uses a service animal must be provided the same opportunity to reserve any available room at the hotel as other guest without disabilities. They may not be restricted to “pet-friendly “rooms. According to the American Disability Act (ADA).

If I could give it a zero

If I could give it a zero, I would do! This place is filthy! Stay away! Full of 🪳 , unclean rooms, and hairs all around the place! My employer booked me to 2621 Research Blvd, Rockville, MD location and I couldn’t express my disappointment in this place. Strange ppl hanging around all night long, smoking weed, screaming and drinking 24 hours. Homeless ppl sleeping by the side door. Really outdated, moldy rooms . Poor costumer service with threat to charge you even more if you planing leave earlyer due to the terrible service.

Extended Stay America-Overland Park

Extended Stay America-Overland Park, Quivira Road.
Stayed there in 2022-2023. While I have stayed at over 10 ESA's in 15 years, this location was the worst.

FIrst on check in; Asst. Mgr. Ashley Wall told me I had to pay $100 deposit for"incidentals". Of all the ESA's I have stayed at, I have never been asked for a deposit. Why? Because there are no "incidentals"!!!

From there, I checked into a room with bed bugs, roaches, the room was filthy. I cleaned it up on my own.

Supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, but the halls and the room reeked of cigarette and pot smoke.

The General Manager, Cody Schoenherr, overcharged me numerous times for my room. I booked through the ESA website and still got overcharged.

After 90 days, I sent numerous emails to Cody and Ashley, asking where my deposit was. No answer.

After the third time of being overcharged for my room, I went to the front desk and tried to talk to Cody. Was told I was being aggressive. Never got it resolved.

I was in Overland Park to receive treatment for STage 4 cancer at the VA. Even though I extended my stay through the reservation site, Cody did not renew my reservation and I had to leave right in the middle of radiation treatment.

I wrote a long letter to the owners of this hotel, Aimbridge Hospitality, to ESA, to Cody, asking for my deposit.

THe Regional Manager at the time reached out to me and refunded me the $100 plus an additional $500 for the overages. She agreed with me that Cody lied to me and overcharged me.

I thought all was good until I tried to check into another ESA in Cleveland to continue Cancer Treatment. Was told that I was DNR'd (Do Not Rent).

Called Cody, called Corporate, called Aimbridge. No response.

Cody is a con artist. Stay away from this and all ESA's in the Kansas City area.

I have had amazing experiences at all the ESA's except the one in Overland Park.

Extended Stay Newark Delaware

We suddenly found ourselves without housing and tried so many hotels while looking for a permanent home. Finally the end of August we found a great rate at ESA. We stayed until the end of January when we moved in the new house. I can honestly say we all loved our experience. From the General manager to the young man emptying the trash room everyone was friendly courteous and genuine
As we stayed each week the rate got lower and lower. We were a group of four. It ea clean And modern. And to have a kitchen was very much appreciated as most hotels will not let you cook in your room only using the microwave
Fresh clean white sheets and towels upon request. I actually was a little sad about leaving. Thank you ESA!

Disgusting

Disgusting, infestation with insects and cockroaches and bed bugs.

Our experienced during our stay in Intown Suites 13125Fm 1960 West Houston, TX 77065.

We made booking through booking.com website for eight nights starting from 11th of November until 18th of November.
The room given to us had infestation of insects and cockroaches.
We attempted to resolve the issues we had with our booking in Houston at your site with no help at all.
I booked this room through booking.com
On arrival we got the keys and when We came back at night to sleep and find out the condition of the room was extremely poor and unhygienic.
we find insects crawling everywhere in the room including bed sheets, shelves, pillows sheets, carpet and in toilet we made contact with the out of our contact number at your site and one of hotel management person came to a room to have a look we showed him the insects and the pictures as well which we have taken earlier, he was not able to help us in any way or form he was not able to clear the room or offer us any other room to sleep for that night.
We slept in the room as have no other options unfortunately but in the morning few of us did have insect bite and rashes on their back.
We collected over stuff and left the room
The room which we had looked and booked through website was completely different to what we were offered on site.
Team at Property was not able to help us at all with infestation in room which have insects and cockroaches. Carpet is extremely dirty and had strong smell of fungus and dampness.
we were informed staff can't even change our room or do anything to clean the room.
We had no option other than leaving room along with our stuff and live in other place as the room was not in liveable condition and extreme hazard to stay longer.
Even at the time of checkout we showed staff add reception the pictures but unable to receive any assistance or help or even an offer to change our room.
It cost us extreme distress and inconvenience during our stay.
we left the room after 2 days out of 8 days booking but they charged us full and have no courtesy to refund I have contacted they many times by email but its pathetic they don`t have courtesy to reply to apologise, refund and compensation of inconvenience and distressed caused during our stay in Houston at intown suites.

ESA, NOTHING BUT A GLORIFIED SECTION…

ESA IS NOTHING BUT A GLORIFIED SECTION 8 HOUSING FACILITY. YOUR RATES ATTRACT LOW-INCOME FAMILIES, WHO HAVE HISTORY IN CAUSING PROBLEMS, LIVING DIRTY. EACH WEEK, POLICE ARE THERE HANDLING DOMESTIC INCIDENTS, HOMELESS PEOPLE SLEEPING ALONG SIDE PARKING LOT, ON FIRST DAY WITNESSED A WOMAN SNORTING COCAINE IN THE STAIRWELL, WALKING IN HALLWAY DRUGGED, PEOPLE ARGUING INSIDE HALLWAYS OR OUTSIDE IN PARKING LOTS, CANNABIS SMOKING EVERYDAY RIGHT IN FRONT OF MAIN ENTRANCE, NO SECURITY PERSONNEL, RETURNING LATE AT NIGHT, GROUPS OF PEOPLE HANGING AROUND OUTSIDE, SOMETHING A SINGLE WOMAN WOULD MOST LIKELY FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE, PEOPLE PARK THEIR BROKEN DOWN CARS ON BACK END OF LOT, MARKING WITH CONSTRUCTION CONES, PARKING LOT RIDDLED WITH GARBAGE, WILD TURKEYS WALKING PROPERTY, MAKING NOISES EVERY MORNING AT 7AM, COFFEE NOT OFFERED EACH MORNING AS PROMISED, RUDE PROPERTY MANAGER, WHEN I BROUGHT MY CONCERNS TO HER, ONLY RESPONSE TO ME WAS, "WOULD YOU LIKE TO CHECKOUT". FLOORS ARE VERY DIRTY IN HALLWAYS, CARPET FULL OF STAINS AND SMELLS BAD. FELT UNSAFE STAYING THERE, I HAD TO MOVE ELSEWHERE. WILL NEVER STAY AT AN ESA AND WILL MAKE SURE MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY DO NOT TOO. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, SPEND THE EXTRA $10-$20 PER NIGHT AT A MARRIOTT, HILTON OR A PLACE WHERE YOU DON'T FEEL THE SERVICES WERE JUST THROWN TOGETHER WITH A CHEAP RATE AND NOT CARE WHO WALKS INTO THEIR DOORS. NOT WORTH IT!

Spend a little more, this place is a dump

Stayed in Long Beach and place looks decent in pictures and when we get there the staff was nice and helpful. They recommended a good nearby restaurant but when we got back the shift changed to evening the receptionist was not that friendly. We got to our room and there was music playing next door fairly loud. Called the front desk to complain, but they sounded irritated about my call. Said she would call the room, but nothing changed. The music was loud and went on till midnight. People slamming doors and laughing, was awful trying to sleep. Found a cockroach scurrying across floor as we were going to bed. The next morning we had to leave at 5am and move several totes, (not wanting to leave in the car) there were no luggage racks, none in the hallways. Apparently they have 4 and people had them in their rooms. So inconsiderate. I had to carry 9 heavy totes, one at a time back to my car. The coffee the serve says "light roast" but it was nasty black. I'll never stay there again!

NEVER stay in an ESA there is a reason the price is so good

Stayed in wichita location for over a year
And always paid my rent on time. I never caused any problems then last weekend I get caught being in the staff laundry which I thought I was paying the privilege for ended up I guess being a huge issue for an egotistical and spiteful manager Christina Barstow. She kicks me out into -16° weather when she could of given me to the end of the week for wich I paid for and it was supposed to be alot warmer. I left peacefully even though what she did violated state law under the residence after 30 days rule unless rent is unpaid. Without a 3 day notice. But I left peacefully went to the other location where I find out this egotistical woman had put me on the DNR list so now I have to move again this time in 28° weather. But when I try to contact someone above her about the issue all I get is stone walled. I would not recommend anyone staying at any of the Extended Stay America Locations until they get some better management that does not take things so personally.

I traveled to Seattle for work and…

I traveled to Seattle for work, and I often travel for work. I prefer staying at extended-stay hotels; I enjoy cooking and don’t always want takeout. I stayed at Extended Stay America Southcenter for over two months. I expressed some dissatisfaction with the condition of my room and made a reservation for another room at the same hotel. The manager told me I could move to another room, but the housekeeper was absent that day, so I had to wait until the next day to get a new room. Truthfully, I đínt think it was too much to ask for a toilet that would flush. Six days later, I inquired at the check-in desk and got a new room. She made me a keycard for a different room and told me to take my time moving because the cleaning staff had left for the day. As I was packing to change rooms, some random people opened the door and came in; they saw me and left. Shortly after, a man started banging on the door as if he would break it down. I opened the door, and it was the manager, an intimidating guy who started yelling at me. I explained that his employee had rented me another room. He told me that the room I was in was listed as unoccupied and that he had rented it out. Then he left. I moved into the new room and was satisfied that it was much better than the last one I was in. However, when I talked to the lady who facilitated the move, she said (she was typing it as we spoke) that she would flag the room, saying that it wouldn't be available until the following day. The next morning, the manager came banging on the door of my new room and told me I had to leave. He put me on the DNR (Do Not Rent) list. I get that there was a misunderstanding, but I don't understand why I'm the one being punished for this hotel’s lack of communication. I get that the manager was embarrassed, and I’m sure that the people who rented a room that wasn’t ready were upset. I don't know why the manager chose to be angry at me. In addition to this behavior, the hotel charged my card for $319, and I assume that I won't get my deposit back. I travel for work and stay in hotels often. I have stayed in hotels for extended periods. I stayed in a motel for over a year because the project I was working on and in charge of required me to be there often. Needless to say, I have spent probably half of my adult life living in hotels after leaving the service, and I am in my 50s now. I have never been asked to leave, lost a deposit, or been charged extra fees after leaving. While I would never choose to stay at Extended Stay America - Seattle - Southcenter again under the current conditions, I believe it is excessive for ESA management to steal my money and put me on a DNR list.

Not that bad but not that good either

I don't know why people have such low ratings on Extended Stay although except for the one that I stay at was a little bit scrungy but it wasn't too dirty. They will more than comedy for the wheelchair although I should have done my research a little more when getting Ada room and making sure I had at least two beds instead of one but it all worked out plus I was able to go to my Houston Texans game.

SLEEPLESS NIGHT!

Reserved a room on Dec. 20/2023 for 7 days. Got to the location by BWI after a 12 midnight flight…we were told to wait 20 minutes for the front desk person to finish rounds. Back 40 minutes later, no one at the desk or reachable by phone. We slept in our car til daylight to find another hotel. The worse part about it is I called corporate TWICE and filed complaints to no avail. They act like imbeciles! No resolution, no complementary future stay. Worst service, will NEVER try them again and encourage all to avoid ESA.

Please avoid Extended Stay Novi Detroit on Haggerty Road

My husband and I stayed here at their location in Novi, MI in August of 2023. We were supposed to stay longer but only stayed one night after witnessing the condition of our room and the state of the hotel and staff. The floors were sticky and the tub and refrigerator were covered in dirt and residue. It was utterly disgusting.

Furthermore, when asking for utensils/plates/pots/pans as they were advertised online, we were told we would have to buy them outright for upwards of $50. When we asked for extra towels, we were told we would have to pay to rent them. They wanted us to use the same towel for days! They argued that this is the norm at Extended Stays, however that is absolutely NOT the case. We previously stayed at Canton Extended Stays and received unlimited towels and rented dishes and silverware for free.

The staff at the Novi location vehemently insisted that the amenities that we saw online were actually that of another hotel by the same owner in the vicinity. However, after looking at the pictures of the hotel we booked, its address, and the description in booking.com, we found that this Novi location did falsely advertise its policies.

The employee then asked us to contact corporate because their voices wouldn’t be heard on this matter by management. The manager themselves was unable to be contacted and upon checkout, there was only a lower level employee who couldn‘t give answers to these policies. We had to request the manager’s contact information twice and were finally able to get her contact number. She never responded to us. I hope that the manager/owner is able to take some accountability and face costumers in the future.

We were absolutely appalled by the greed and lack of concern for hygiene and cleanliness of the rooms and guests here at Novi Extended Stay.

Please save your money and sanity and avoid this accommodation at all costs!

We talked to her the we arrived and a bit longer the day we left. She asked if we were coming back in the future. I stated yes. The room we had was 226, very clean and tidy. I am planning visit real soon. Krista needs awarded for her customer service, As long and Krista is at the Hotel I will come, I love her. You need more like her,
