Expensive. After a medical review the price almost doubled. Tried a different company, same cover, same medical review - cheaper premium than your original quote & medical all covered.

Your policy was initially issued based on the medical information provided at the time of purchase. When additional details came to light, we arranged a medical screening so we could make sure the cover accurately reflected your health history.
Travel insurance premiums are based on the information disclosed. When that information changes, the premium can change as well.

Everything is good except the extra…
Everything is good except the extra premium calculated by the medical screening. I had a heart attack 3 years ago and have since lost 18kg and now walk 5km every morning, I’m much fitter than I was prior to heart attack but the screening does not allow for this, I’m less at risk of claiming now than before yet am charged a higher price.

Medical screening is designed to assess risk based on medical history and clinical indicators rather than current fitness levels alone. While improved health and lifestyle absolutely matter on a personal level, insurers are required to rate based on factors such as the type of condition, how recent it was, treatment history and the potential for recurrence. A previous heart attack, even several years ago, is still something that needs to be factored into the premium.
We understand it can feel frustrating, especially when you’re feeling fitter than ever. Our aim is to make sure the cover in place properly reflects the medical history disclosed, so there are no surprises if you ever need to claim.

Impressed by the cover provided.
I have previously gone with another trusted insurer who covers seniors. I was surprised to see that Go provided better cover in the areas that are most important to me and I didn't need their top tier cover to match the other company. I travel light and don't take a lot of valuables. I was pleased with flexibility and particularly happy that agreeing to the excess set by me meant a significant discount was given.

Aside from the bit tricky bit for my travel agent to find some of the places I am visiting, Netherlands Antilles not Bonaire, the basic process was fine.

Easy to arrange, helpful staff,informative information and guidance for the questions. Not pressuring me when I wanted a copy of both of our health summary profile questions and answers for both myself and my husband to take to the GP to confirm we had covered all the question's and details correctly, to ensure everything was covered before paying the premium

Fantastic claims process and smooth outcome!!
Insurance companies always have a bad reputation for difficulty in the claims process and trying to weasel out of paying what is due.
Go Insurance in my recent claim was a pleasure to work with. The claims process is straight forward, intuitive and prompt.
