Had a wonderful semi permanent colour done by Gintare at the Putney salon. She really took the time to get the colour exactly right and I am so pleased with the result. Customer service from my arrival was excellent - tea and biscuits and magazines provided. I was even given protection for my reading glasses to wear whilst my colour set! Would definitely book again.

My appointment was cancelled an hour before I was due to have it at Clapham high street with no real effort to arrange an alternative asap. However, I found another appointment at Shepherd’s Bush, although a 40minute journey. Amber made it all the worth while. She took her time and was so thorough, I felt bad as my hairs quite thick and takes a while but it didn’t phase her and I wasn’t rushed. Felt like Clapham should have gave a discount code for cancelling though.

I have been going to the Streatham salon for 2 years, had a great stylist, then a few months ago I called to make an appointment and since then it has been a complete nightmare. I have been placed with a variety of stylists, some good, some awful and the price seems to go up and up with the level of service deteriorating fast. My last appointment has left me with hair that has been hacked, a colour that has faded and left my hair with 3 stripes of colour and a visit that felt rushed and as though because im not 20 I wasnt important, I won't be returning. I don't know how
these salons are run but there is obviously an issue with staff and lack of management or skill, I'm not sure which but the prices you charge I expect a brilliant service, not what I ended up with.

Headmasters hairstylist Silas understands exactly how I want my hair whether it's a cut or blow-dry or even highlights. He explains his methods so we understand one another. This was the result of my last appointment with him. Absolutely brilliant 👌

Excellent cut and blowdry from the superb Kelsi at Fulham Broadway. Kelsi was brilliant. She asked me what I wanted, listened gave advice and delivered on exactly what we had agreed. Kelsi is incredibly friendly, professional and a great stylist. The Fulham salon is very nice and exactly what I expected. I highly recommend Kelsi.
Headmasters Beckenham
Headmasters Beckenham - absolutely awful , I have spent far too much money here for an awful full head of highlights that is black underneath ,. Stylist got soap in my eyes and i was soaked on the last two visits . I have now had my hair corrected and will NEVER step foot in Headmasters (Head missed) again!
I even got charged to correct the mess up they made

A big thank you to the salon manager Kennedi for personally fixing the bad haircut I got from another stylist at your salon. I’m really happy with the new style—it’s exactly what I wanted and looks so natural! I truly appreciate the excellent service.

Sam Windsor Branch
Sam in the Windsor branch has literally saved and transformed my hair. She has helped me embrace my natural hair colour after using bleach for 25 years and added thickness, volume and style using hair extensions.
I absolutely love our appointments together - she is full of knowledge, great chat and good advise.
She has made me love my hair again and I would recommend her whole heartedly xxx

I have been going to Headmasters in Teddington since moving to the area 14 years ago and I would never go anywhere else. It is like a second home to me. All the staff are amazing, kind and friendly. My stylist, Lauren, is incredible and this is a big shout out to her. She has really taken the time and effort to get to know my hair (I have difficult, very thick long hair) and she knows exactly what to do with it and how to colour, cut and shape it. She is truly a skilled artist and goes above and beyond to ensure I am happy and that my hair is the best it could be. She knows exactly what products to use and always offers advice for how to treat and style it at home. She gives me all her attention and focus so I always end up leaving looking like a million dollars. The best hairdressers I have ever been to - I am always guaranteed an amazing experience. They really look after you and they really care. Thank you so, so much Lauren and all the team. Xx

Headmasters West Hampstead (I can’t speak for other branches) used to be a premium salon experience — highly experienced staff who provided tailored, customer-centred experiences. You walked out looking and feeling great. It justified the price. No longer. Today I barely had a half smile from staff. The colour consultation lasted 15 seconds. An apprentice dumped water in my ear and down my back. I don’t blame her — she was clearly given tasks and little instruction. She seemed almost scared.
The blow dry left my hair flat. I wasn’t asked how I wanted it.
I have gone back because it’s convenient, but really his salon doesn’t try very hard or justify the high prices.

I have been using Headmasters for a very long time and I always had great experience. On my last appointment I had my hair cut by Christopher who suggested new hairdo and I felt like a million dollar babe after he finished it. Thank you so much again :-)

Hacked off 4 inches even after showing Lindsay exactly how much I wanted cut off. Incompetence at it’s best. Will never go back. Face framing layers were needed , she just cut it off without any layers. Awful job. Not recommended.Headmaster Croydon.

I am obliged to give headmasters one star on trustpilot, but honestly, I wouldn’t give it even that my experience from start to finish was horrible,
I made an appointment in advance explaining it was my daughter’s wedding in the next few days abroad, I explained what I wanted and even showed them the clip on hairpiece I brought as my hair was so thin and wanted a match as close as possible.
This is where communication clearly stopped, I was given a hairdresser who spoke Little to no English, and clearly did not understand any of the request I asked for, ( Manager was listening to every word )even the haircut where I asked for just a trim was a full haircut So even shorter than I wanted , The golden blonde I was expecting was created as ash blonde, I was devastated. I didn’t know what to say but left the hairdressers, My family took one look and told me to call them to get this rectified immediately( We were flying out the following morning) The manager finally acknowledged me via her assistant and asked me to come in that evening, She did her best rectify it I guess And admitted that her hairdresser had not done it correctly ( Then why didn’t she say so in the shop as she clearly witnessed it? ) again I was asking for the colour very similar to the hairpiece I had which was a golden blonde, she proceeded to tell me how no one wants that colour anymore but she would do as I asked in front of my friend. Also she constantly laughed and said no one wants that colour As it’s so old-fashioned,
I left the shop after not happy, thankful it wasn’t asked at least Ash but made to feel horrible, Would I repeat another session in that salon? Absolutely not 😪

I always feel I am in good hands with all the staff but recently Peggy in the Richmond Salon went over and above to fit me in. Apart from being kind and tuned in, she’s a great stylist and professional in every way.
Discounts come at a painful cost
After a hard search, I went ahead with an appointment booked with Alexis for my long-awaited haircut, as she was highly rated amongst them all. Meanwhile, I joined their VIP club as well as there was a discount. Little did I know how horrible the entire expereince at this salon would be. No attention was given to me. While I was explaining how I wanted my hair to be cut, she kept checking elsewhere and looking at other customers who were walking through the door. When I asked for bangs, all I got was a short, donkey fringe that has made me look hideous. The entire experience was horrible. My haircut with layers and bangs was done within 20 minutes and was so rushed that the little bits of hair on my face after the cut were not even wiped or taken away. This is a fair warning to let anyone know that either hairdressers will have biases towards people or they give less attention and horrible service when there is a discount involved or they are simply having a bad day.
Nonetheless, you shouldn't be a victim as a customer.

Left the salon with very damaged hair!
I’ve been visiting Headmasters for years and have always trusted their stylists. However, I went to Headmasters Croydon on 1st August and had a terrible experience. After having highlights I noticed when the stylist brushed my hair there was a clump of hair on the floor (before cutting). I then got home and when I washed my hair it was breaking off in clumps and felt elastic and almost had a gummy feel about it. It also had a very visible block patch of bleach at the front. I called the salon and they told me to come in for a treatment, the manager said the stylist had used a peroxide much too harsh for my hair and also left it on for too long. He said he couldn’t do anything about the block of colour though as didn’t want to put any more colour on my hair because it was so damaged which was understandable. I was given the treatment for free but when I asked for a full refund on the original appointment he said he couldn’t do this and I would have to contact head office. I did this and have had multiple emails back saying that I would need to attend the salon for a consultation before they could give a refund despite me saying multiple times that I had already been in. I said I was frustrated that my emails haven’t been properly read and have not had a reply since which is even more frustrating. Not only is my hair still breaking and in an awful state, I have also had to purchase expensive treatments for home so am considerably out of pocket, this is so disappointing and frustrating.

Headmasters Hammersmith, hairdresser Laila
I had my hair done by lovely Laila at headmasters hammersmith, she was so kind and patient explaining which treatment would look best, be affordable and give the look I wanted. The process in total took 6 hours of bleaching toning and styling, as someone with anxiety this was quite daunting but her kind manner, skill and genuine desire to give a wonderful experience meant I was comfortable to relax, ask for tea and even borrow a phone charger! This is all before the fact she has left my hair looking FANTASTIC, I feel so confident and have attached a picture of the finished results. I will be suggesting to everyone to ask for Laila as she was so kind, but everyone working seemed great ❤️
