SHOCKING SERVICE
WE PUT OUR BIKES IN ON TUESDAY THE 23 JULY TO GET A TYRE PUT ON BOTH BIKES, WE WERE TOLD TO COME BACK FRIDAY TO COLLECT THE BIKES,WE WALKED DOWN FROM OUTSKIRTS OF INVERNESS ONLY TO BE TOLD BIKES WERE NOT EVEN STARTED TO COME BACK LATER THAT DAY I HAD EXPLAINED THAT WE JUST WALKED FOR OVER ONE HOUR AS YOU PROMISED THEY WOULD BE READY, 5 DAYS TO PUT 2 TYRES ON SHOCKING SERVICE WILL NEVER RETURN.

Just to be clear, we don’t ‘promise’ bikes to be ready for specific times. If you have a deadline then we will absolutely do our best to meet that deadline, but we don’t promise it because any number of things could happen to hinder us getting the job done and through no fault of our own, the promise is broken. The best we can do, is to do our best and that seems to work for the majority of our customers.
When you dropped off your bikes, we explained that our current turnaround time is approximately 7-10 days however given that your job was not a complex one, we would hopefully be able to get it squeezed in to the queue, should a space become available and, in all likelihood, we should be able to get it done for the Friday. You would also have been informed that we would send a text message once the job was completed as we do with all our jobs. Of course, customers are welcome to to contact us using any of the popular messaging services and even by telephone to check on progress of their job.
Your bikes were actually ready on the Friday you requested (you will have received the text message). They just weren’t ready when you chose to arrive. The irony is that if you had called to say you were heading in for them, we probably would have had them ready in time for you for your arrival.
I understand that you are really just angry at yourself for walking for an hour to collect your bikes without any confirmation that they were actually ready, and that you are now projecting that anger on to us. I would disagree that our service was shocking and in fact, a little bit of gratitude would not have gone amiss for getting your bikes ready for you and for putting you ahead of other customers who are waiting patiently.
Perhaps we have both learned a lesson from this encounter.

Good service and knowledgeable staff.
I think we all need to support our local bike shops to keep them going!

Great service
Highland bikes sent the item really quickly.....and then we're super helpful when I had ordered the wrong thing. They helped me sort out what I actually needed, and got a replacement to me quickly.

Outstanding
My first purchase from Highland bikes, I was looking for ortleib panniers and whilst their price was similar to others I like to try different retailers. The service was outstanding and the parcel arrived on time and well packaged. I would recommend that you try them.

Order not despatched in stated timeframe
I ordered from Highland bikes because the website stated the parts were in stock and would be despatched the day of purchase if ordered before 1pm, I ordered on Sunday expecting it to be despatched Monday. The order wasn't despatched until Wednesday which says to me the parts weren't in stock . No big deal but I received no emails telling me my order would be delayed and I actually ordered the same parts from another shop on Tuesday afternoon as I needed to be sure I had them by the weekend and this shop did despatch that day and I received next day.
So would I use Highland bikes again? Probably not as I couldn't trust their website stock info or expect an email that my order will be delayed.
Sorry guys but you need to do better in today's market.
Thanks for your response, I wasn't aware Monday was a bank holiday apologies, but Tuesday wasn't. It really doesn't help when you state you are a working shop with bikes to fix . Come on guys that's the excuse everyone uses. Take your bad reviews and learn from them don't turn it back on the customer to feel bad because you are working so hard. I have worked in bike shops myself

Thanks for leaving us a review. I just wanted to respond to clarify a couple of points.
The items you ordered were in stock as advertised at the time of your order. Our website displays a live stock and is fairly clear about the stock position of any item although there is room for improvement which we are working on.
The dispatch delay on your order was largely down to the Bank Holiday Monday and it is generally accepted that no shipping will take place as all the courier companies tend to close on the Bank Holidays. Unfortunately, this is something that our website currently cannot account for when displaying the estimated dispatch times.
Highland Bikes is also a working bike shop with actual shop staff who serve customers, fix bikes and ship orders and we try very hard to make every customers shopping experience a good one but we don't always get it 100% right.
I am happy to see that you received your items the day after dispatch and in time for the weekend as you had hoped and I'm sorry that our service has fallen short of your expectations.
Great Bike
Wanted a specific bike for my daughter, not stocked locally anywhere I could see. Highland Bikes had a great price with free shipping, delivered with only a small amount of assembly left to do, bike perfect, thank you.

Don't reply to emails.
I need to return an item as unsuitable for my needs. First delivery via Royal Mail didn't arrive, I was left a card despite been in. Second delivery worked. However item needs to be returned so I have emailed twice and no reply. Disappointed.
