HSS ProService Avis

Good quality goods at reasonable prices. Delivered in the morning, so I was able to start immediately. Very happy with the service.

Good product delivery on time

great communication as to when the order would be delivered and very impressed by how curtious the driver was and took the time to drop off in the right location

Hired through HSS twice and I just wouldn't recommend it. They're basically just an intermediary for Speedy now that Speedy doesn't do direct-to-customer hires anymore, and unfortunately they can't even do that right. At least that's my experience, maybe they hire from other places too.
Unfortunately when you're only job is "go-between" for customer and tool-hire place, your job is communication and they are just not good. The first hire I had wasn't picked up for something like 2 weeks after the hire had ended. Then HSS told me they were coming at 12, when they didn't come I called HSS who called Speedy who said they'd tried to collect at 8am when I wasn't there. Irritating but fine.
This second hire I was told I could collect the tool. However I arrive at the Speedy warehouse and I'm told they're all out of the tool I hired and that they tried to cancel it with Speedy but clearly that didn't reach us.
Don't waste your time with this intermediary company and go to Jewson or something where you can talk to the hire company directly - this is just too much faff and wasted time, space and energy.

Easy to use website. The price of the topsoil was very competitive, and the transport cost very reasonable.
Selecting a delivery date was no problem, and the delivery was on time.

Friendly and helpful delivery drivers, good product.

I just required a gravel bag for garden works at my property. I was able ho select the date of delivery and the driver was helpful and accomodating when it came to placing the goods by the Garage. No complaints at all.

Kept well informed about delivery date and time.Very polite and helpful driver.
Only down side was early delivery time, before 07:30.Not really a problem for me, but something to be aware of.

good product although it was delivered a day earlier than initially arranged

The ordering process was very straightforward and the product was exactly what I wanted at a very good price. Delivery was scheduled with regular updates.
Driver was very helpful in places the bag for me.
Very pleased with the service and will definitely use them again in the future.

Its a great bit of kit the Mi tower. This one was in need of a safety check -a few safety catches missing, and adjustable legs were seized up. But, it was delivered on time and picked up way after the hire date.

Very odd to ask for a review before the order has been delivered! It has been rescheduled twice already and not arriving for another few days (I hope). Communication has been good, but would prefer my delivery ...

Would give zero stars if I could. Still not received the goods.

Quick service, arrived on time

I had no idea that HSS provided building materials, but was very pleased when I found that they could supply exactly the product that I needed and deliver it the next day. All my previous enquiries to major suppliers showed the item, but none had it in stock, which was very annoying.

On time delivered with care, updated regularly re delivery.

Easy ordering, great quality product, easy and professional delivery.

Ordered a waker plate and bought a rake to move the stone about but yhe rake came 5 days later when the job was done . Didnt get chance to send back because was out at work and it was just left leaning against the front door

First of all, keeping an eye on the ball, the kit was supplied on time, in good working condition, and it did exactly the job we wanted. It was collected on time after the hire. That was all great.

The problem was around the inexpert user (me) trying to work out how to use what for me was large and scary machinery. There were absolutely no instructions provided. There was a video online but it was for a different product. It took me more than a day to get any kind of explanation over the phone of how to work the machinery from the subleasing company rather than HSS, so confidence was low. (It perhaps didn’t help that this hire was clearly subcontracted to another company, with whom I had no relationship.)

Hence docking a mark – I am assuming that a lot of expert trades use this service but if you’re just an ordinary person, this kind of machinery needs careful explanation for safety as well as confidence purposes.
