I ordered a bulk bag of 10mm gravel. Ordering was easy however, having chosen a delivery date and paid, the delivery was pushed back a day. I tried to contact HSS but to no avail. This was frustrating.
On the day, the delivery from Selco was excellent and the driver was extremely helpful.

Ordered a rotary line online £324 it said delivery next day which it wasn’t, so when it did arrive we were at work and it was left in the garden and the box got soaked in the rain. Got a handyman to come and put up the line, but it was damaged the crank handle didn’t raise the arms. Got in touch online by email a few times and my husband rang them to collect it and get a refund. They said someone would email when they would pick it up. Have received nothing. Wouldn’t recommend them or use them again

It sounds good,but the fence wasn’t treated

Good product, good price and good communication. I would have given 5 stars if it was packaged better for transport. It’s quite delicate and had a few knocks on the edges. Nothing major and easily solved with a bit of filler. I would definitely buy again.

Hired a nail gun and bought nails - delivered with the wrong nails and wrong gas and the battery didn't work. Received a letter saying i'd returned the gun damaged the same day the same gun was returned to me, still with a battery that doesn't work. I never leave negative feedback but customer service promise call backs that haven't happened and blame everything on the supplier (or customer). Delivery guys have been nice.

Well, what can I say. I’ve never dealt with a company with such a blatant disregard for the customer.
AM delivery ordered for access equipment. Called at 0930 to check the status, was told I’m the next drop due between 10-11am. Called at 1115am to chase, after 45 MINUTES on the phone, I was told it would be between 1130 and 1400!!!! Taking no ownership of their poor service, I was told they had subcontracted to the order to another supplier!!! I reminded her that I’m your customer, and it was HSS problem to resolve. 4 men stood around all day who need to be paid, with minimal work getting done. Icing on the cake was when an empty HSS truck turned up to collect something else! Maybe employ a logistics manager eh - NEVER AGAIN

From ordering to delivery this company was absolutely outstanding quick, cheaper than any where else with professional top notch delivery can't rate them highly enough

Terrible service at all stages. I hired a carpet cleaner for a weekend. Come the Friday of pickup (3 days after placing the order), they (Speedy Hire) called to say that they couldn't fulfill my booking because a part of the cleaner (the lance) was missing. So I rescheduled to the following weekend. During the next week, I received a call from HSS asking if I still wanted my booking. So no communication between these two parts of the same company (or however they are related). When finally picking up the cleaner, the person who served me did not have the best people skills. No problem, as long as the cleaner itself works. Alas, it did not: both the main pole/lance and the upholstery attachment were defective. The spray function for the pole/lance did not so much spray as dribble. The connection of the upholstery attachment for the spray tubing was leaking massively, so that was unusable, unless your aim was to soak the spot directly below the connection between hose and upholstery attachment. This left me having to scramble to fashion my own spraying system to apply the cleaning solution. Next, when returning the defective cleaner to Speedy Hire and informing the service person of the multiple defects, they said they'd check it out. No apologies for providing defective equipment. Finally, on the day I returned the defective product, I received an email saying I should have returned the cleaner on the Sunday and was going to be charged £15.49 for another day's use of the machine. I will not be using their services again. If I could, I'd give 0 stars for customer service and product functionality and pretty much every aspect of my interaction with HSS.

Easy process from order to delivery with excellent communication

Ordered and paid for 10kg bag of grout received 2.5kg of grout. Tried to call no answer several times. Raised a customer service ticket got a number and email saying they will respond, 7 days later no response. Sent another email no response. Live chat not working. Next step go to local branch.. as a matter of principle. Not good !!
After leaving the review.. received a refund for the difference.. but no communication just received the notification i had received a refund from my bank. Adjust rating from 1 star to three.
