The care company that cares

I found HomeTouch to be very professional .caring and helpful .
They vet all their carers before showing their details ,which are very
comprehensive .This is a comfort to those seeking a good carer to suit their
individual needs . The concept of the company is far superior to that of
traditional care agencies .I would definitely recommend HomeTouch.

Excellent way to find carers

I was very sceptical at first but the level of information and responsiveness from Jamie was excellent. Having used care agencies in the past, I think this is a much better option, giving more control and choice over who cares for your loved one. Julia was excellent and it's just a shame that we could not continue with the service as my mother was hospitalised.

Seriously impressed

We had a good experience with excellent support from Jamie, even over the weekend. The carers seemed lovely and although the logistics didn't quite work on this occasion, I wouldn't hesitate to go back on another occasion.

Great company to work with.

Having found HomeTouch while surfing the internet, I wasted no time in forwarding my CV straight away. The idea of my personal profile, qualifications and availability advertised online, so clients could see me, seemed a wonderful and challenging new concept. The prompt feedback and welcoming response I received made me realise that this was a very special and serious company of which I wanted to be part of. One fact about HomeTouch, which wins both clients and carers, in my opinion, is the great team behind the company. I have had the opportunity to work with many great people throughout my life and I feel Hometouch is one of the best organisations I have worked with.

AB FAB SERVICE!!!!!!!! 6 OUT OF 5!!!!!

I was knocked out by the service and attention I received in my first encounter with Sonia...and Home Touch! It was a last minute booking and it couldn't have been more pleasant, easier, professional...and just pushed all the right buttons! The phone call to initiate was easy...and very polite and then the follow up appt with Sonia was excellent! She was delightful and most attentive, well spoken, cheerful and "took control" quickly and made me feel completely at ease.
I cannot begin to praise enough the whole Home Touch experience! Would I book with them again? You betcha!

Great customer service

I found carer for my mother through Hometouch and we are very happy with the help and the service. The best thing about Hometouch is you can reach a human being really quickly, either by phone, email or chat so if you need to change anything or discuss care or illness issues you know that they will follow it up swiftly. Nice people too!

Really I 'd like to give three and a half stars

Good way to find people and, once you get used to it an easily manageable system on-line.

BUT hard to find drivers and hard to find carers with public liability insurance which Barnet council insist on when people are being paid out of Direct Payments.

Friendly people at the other end of the phone to help when there are problems.

Would certainly recommend others to try via HomeTouch and see who they can find.

Regarding the commission, it worth noting a few points: 1. 20% is actually 16.6% as the remainder goes to the taxman in VAT 2. Most care agencies take 60-70% commission and the carer is paid minimum wage which has an effect on carer motivation and continuity - so the HomeTouch model is vastly fairer than most of the UK's 7000 care agencies 3 Providing excellent customer service, rigorously vetting carers and creating the internet infrastructure to support the service does not come for free and requires significant investment and resources. Is this the future for home care?

What I like most is that HomeTouch enables me to choose my own carer with confidence. Potential carers present themselves in their own words and often direct to camera. The site itemises their qualifications, experience of different medical conditions, personal interests; and there are male as well as female carers. Put briefly, HomeTouch acts as an umbrella organisation bringing together self-employed carers with those seeking good care. As such it accepts responsibility for providing properly qualified and stringently vetted carers; and it monitors the satisfactoriness of a carer and liaises and (if necessary) mediates between carer and client. There is no 'one size fits all'. Care is customised so that, for instance, my care is as much about companionship, accompanying to the cinema and to exhibitions, etc, as tending to my physical needs. I have only one reservation. Looking from the carer's perspective, the site might flag up the importance of the proximity factor, because nothing swallows up a carer's time and money like travelling does.

Excellent Service and Fantastic Carer

Prior to finding HomeTouch I have used a couple of agencies to find a carer to assist my mother on a weekly basis. However the service provided through HomeTouch is a non comparison. I have been able to find a brilliant and compatible carer to assist my mother. My mother really looks forward to having her around. Whilst I agree with another reviewer that the contract process could be more flexible to accommodate changes in a carers hours etc, whenever I have raised a query or requested a contract amendment HomeTouch have been prompt to respond and come to my assistance. It is difficult to find such excellent customer service these days and really helps to take the stress away.

Great service and great carer

I wouldn't have known where to start when trying to help my grandmother find a carer if I hadn't have found HomeTouch. It was simple to look through carer's profiles together and find a suitable person that lived nearby. Mary has been caring since the beginning of November and has always been reliable, cheerful and willing to help out what whatever needs to be done.

Brilliant carer's and great service

We have had two carer's from home touch and both have been very good. Also when a carer has been sick of away the agency have quickly been in touch, made refunds as also given details for cover. Never is anyone sent without us knowing who will be arriving to do the care shift. The model of selecting your own carer and having your own arrangements with the peace of mind of a carer having been vetted is amazing.

Fantastic service

We live 180 miles away from our 85 year old mother, so the process of identifing, interviewing and following up references for a carer in london seemed almost insurmountable. Even my job as a Social Worker in Adult Social Care didn't offer much solace, making things almost more daunting with the knowledge that care can be haphazard and poorly managed at times. However, Hometouch popped up on Google and things immediately looked brighter. Their carer profiles are really comprehensive,give an honest representation of what carers offer, and even better they come with fully vetted police checks and references. Being able to pay via a central system offers everyone security. Most crucially the advice and support provided by the team is superb, always instant, and never pushy . They're fantastic. If only Devon had a similar service! The carer we chose has been truly amazing; incredibly respectful, understanding and flexible. She really is very professional and very lovely. She's made life infinitely less stessful for us because we know we can trust her. And this is enabled by her, and us, having a trustworthy supportive company behind the scenes. Thank you Hometouch!

Very happy with the service

This was my first time trying to find a carer for my mother. I was obviously very concerned about getting the right person. The home touch website was very easy to use but better still the staff at home touch were were also very helpful and reassuring. The payment options Re also very handy.

I now have a carer for my mother and I'm 100% happy. My mother is also 100% happy which is the most important factor. Our carer is fantastic. All in all home touch made the process easy and I would recommend them to anyone.

Fabulous carer

My sister has been visited once a week by the same carer for the past 5 weeks. She is in a word fantastic. My sister is very happy. I am so pleased to find a company that understands what the job entails helping us to find this fabulous lady. The future thankfully looks a lot more settled.

Very happy with myhometouch

I needed to find a daily carer for my aunt who suffers from dementia. Through their website I found a brilliant person who lives nearby. With Nathalie's care my aunt is less anxious and her quality of life has improved. My aunt enjoys her company and regards her as a friend.
Also, when I've called the office whoever I've spoken to has been very helpful.

Above & beyond the call of duty

We needed to find a carer to go to a hotel location on xmas day at very short notice to support my elderly mother for one morning only.
The service and communication from HomeTouch and the carer they put us in touch with were first class in every respect. No hesitation in recommending HomeTouch. I have dealt with similar organisations before but never had an experience as good as this.

Home Touch saved the day for us

I am a full time carer from my wife who had always refused anyone else looking after her. I had to go into hospital for three days so was extremely concerned, as was my wife. We found the Home Touch web site so easy to use and in particular the facility to see the full profile of the carers. Regrettably the carer we chose had to withdraw at the last moment, which was extremely stressful for us both. Fortunately Josh came to our rescue, selecting a brilliant replacement for us and one who became one of the family from day one. My wife was totally happy with the carer and I was able to go into hospital knowing I had nothing to worry about. . Should the need arise that we need a carer in future we will definattely return to Home Touch.

Excellent Service - Superb Carer - Some difficulty with website

The carer who came to keep an eye on my father three times a week as he recovered from his radiotherapy was friendly, professional and incredibly helpful at what was a stressful time for the family. The people at the "office"/on the end of the phone were also superb, very understanding and professional. The only reason why I haven't awarded 5 stars is because I think the website needs a tiny bit more development in terms of ease of changing weekly schedule for the carer. There should be options for a rolling programme or the ability to book on a weekly basis which has some calendar model built in so it's easier to see what you are booking. This is a very minor point in what is an excellent service from beginning to end.
