Beware of the EXTORTION from NETFIRMS
This company charged me $154 in the summer 2023. Then they try to charge me $143 for hosting Weebly after they charge me for the domain. and I have a second domain and they charge me 21.99. all together in one year they're trying to extort $318. I notice they blocked any way to leave messages other than leaving messages this way on Facebook.....I normally don't like to make complaints but I'm so disappointed, so upset 🥺 and I'm so pissed off! MONEY IS PRECIOUS AND HARD IN THESE TIMES.
The EXTORTION IS REAL...that's going on. RIGHT now when people are really struggling. THIS IS BULL! I have been a customer since 2014.
I ONLY WISH I COULD SHOW SCREENSHOTS OF THE RECENT CONVERSATION I HAD. 😡
I just moved away from Netfirms because…
I just moved away from Netfirms because I had an autorenew on my website and they autorenewed with no notification. The problem with that was they increased my cost from $90 to $110 with no notification. They said they were forced to increase their fees "due to recent pricing trends". That's certainly a way to cover their behind!!
They were not willing to refund it because I missed their Sept 29 deadline - of course!! How would I know that without notification.
Do you have a zero star option??
Get out while you can!
I have had three domains with Netfirms for over 5 years. They used to be great, but suddenly, they have become unrecognisable. It started with one of my domains becoming due and them never sending me the reminder, so it expired. Then a second became due; I received the notice for that, but when I tried to login in to my Netfirms account to renew, I stopped being recognised. So I naturally hit the forgot password button in order to receive a password change prompt, hoping that will solve the issue so I can get in and pay quickly. Nope, I stopped getting any emails for that too. So I contacted customer service. Useless! They offered solutions that bring no resolution to the issue you are describing to them, and every service rep has a different response to the same issue, which just delayed my problem, leading to my second domain being expired without payment! What to hear something else funny? I am still locked out of the account. After submitting a report six days ago about the issue, which has a note stating that you will receive a response within 48–72 hours, six days later (today), still waiting. I also tried to get hold of customer service once again to ask why I was not contacted, and no one comes to the online prompt after waiting for over an hour (which said there was a 10-minute wait, by the way). Save your sanity. Don't do business with these people, and if you currently use them, get out now while you can! The company has become a sham, and the customer service people you talk to are all zombies.
Customer service is poor
Customer service is poor, and service is slow. The price is higher than other web hosting. We have been dealing with an issue for a number of days and feel they are holding the domain hostage, even though it has been paid for.

Hotmail clients suddenly cannot get an email through to our address - no bounce back on their end so the client thinks we are ignoring them!!!!! I am hearing the same goes with outlook and live clients. The constant upgrades and storage and monthly charges are insane - RUN!!!!!!!!
Long-Term Reliability with Netfirms.com: A Domain Perspective
For over a decade, I've entrusted Netfirms.com with my domain management needs, and they've consistently proven their value. While I acknowledge that their domain renewal pricing might be a bit higher than some alternatives, I firmly believe that the benefits they provide more than justify the cost.
The recent transition to their new control panel has been a game-changer. The upgraded interface is nothing short of exceptional, offering a seamless and efficient experience for managing my domains. This upgrade has further solidified my confidence in Netfirms.com as a reliable partner.
One aspect that truly stands out is their commitment to customer service. Their chat service has been my go-to for addressing queries, and it has consistently delivered prompt and effective responses. This responsiveness has been pivotal in ensuring a smooth experience throughout the years.
One noteworthy feature that sets Netfirms.com apart is their domain policy. Unlike other platforms that auction domains, Netfirms.com's approach is refreshingly different. They prioritize user convenience by making domains available for repurchase without the pressure of an auction. This policy has been a lifesaver, especially when I've needed to recover clients' domains after non-payment issues.
Admittedly, I've explored alternatives for hosting and email services, opting for AWS and cPanel resellers. However, when it comes to domain management, Netfirms.com remains unparalleled. Their reliability and robust offerings make them an integral part of my web services arsenal.
In closing, while I acknowledge the slightly higher domain renewal pricing, I firmly believe that Netfirms.com's exceptional domain management capabilities and customer-centric approach make every penny worth it. Their dedication to providing a seamless experience and prioritizing user convenience is why I continue to choose them as my domain registrar.
Phone support killed without updating smart chat
I have been with netfirms for more than 12 years and recently I'm shocked with the level of professionalism in support and customer service.
Somehow they finished phone support but without Even upgrading their chat support ...this is what I wrote to them:
You guys have become a joke ...if you couldn't afford customer service in a third world country then you should pack your bags .....
Very frustrating for anyone to ask few questions and waiting for a looser chat with no smart system .....how can you guys do this to your customers ....no phone system.......worst chat system made in the 90s .....no chat gpt ..pay few more dollars for anyone's sake. ....no beeps, no sounds, no message, do you have any live person anywhere. Your app sucks and have not been updated at all, can't even chat ......also, No wait time shown, ....what are you people ..... could you not even afford customer service..omg ...netfirms where are you guys going ...I need some questions about renewal ....email me
Living in 80s ...
Worst Domain and Host service in…
Worst Domain and Host service in Market, No support whatsoever! Their email service is stop working for a day and no one answer their help chat! there is no other way of support. Do not trust them for your business.

Netfirms used to be great but now they are completely useless. I would look elsewhere and avoid this terrible service.
Terrible - the worse I have ever experienced
Netfirms only has Chat customer support, I tried over 5 times with different chat agents to get my account activation email....they didn't send it! I tried to cancel my account and get a refund, I still have been given one. I sent an email to their support.... no response. My credit card has been charged with setup and monthly fees. Terrible!!
It is Jun 2023 and Netfirms does not support PHP 8.x
It is Jun 2023 and Netfirms only supports PHP 7.4 which reached EOL/EOS in Nov 2022. It doesn't even support PHP 8.0. Also, there's no ETA when PHP 8.0 or grater be available to customers. Shame on you Netfirms, this should've been planned in 2019 when PHP announced version 8.0 and the EOL/EOS schedule for 7.x versions.
We have been a customer of theirs for…
We have been a customer of theirs for almost ten years. Our web site has been online for 20 years with no issues or complaints. There have been no recent changes. Yet they just took our site offline in the middle of the night with no advance warning or consultation, saying that we have been sending spam, which we have not. I understand that spam can be an issue, but this way of dealing with customers is horrible. There is no phone number that gets answered and no email address you can send a complaint to. You can use chat and then wait to hear from someone, which might take forever. We will definitely be looking to move elsewhere
Emails blocked
Many of their IP addresses are blocked due to abuse reports so don't expect to be able to email anyone with a Hotmail, Live, or Outlook address. Messages will bounce. They will rotate to a new IP, which may or may not also be blocked. Issue recurs once or twice a week. They say they have a long term / permanent fix coming but with no time estimate. That's been the story for at least 2 months now.
Continually over-billed for Google…
Continually over-billed for Google Workspace - no help at all when complaints made - finally got mad enough to switch Workspace billing to Google - Netfirms took over a week to make this happen - and then 6 days after the transfer was finally confirmed they billed me again for the following month - contacted customer service again and was told because accounts were used I had to pay and there was no refund - when I asked how cancelled accounts could be used they were unable to answer and just kept repeating the page out of the script about "no refunds". STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!
I have been a customer of theirs's for 20 years
I have been a customer of theirs's for the last 20 years. They were good at the beginning when you could actually phone them. Their support is completely worthless where the support person/chatbot spews out canned responses. I had issues with one of my MYsql DB. From the support responses , i felt that this person did not even know what a database was.
They have many customers that use their sites to send spam messages and so many email servers will block their IP address. This means that my legitimate email will not go through. They will do nothing about their blocked IP addresses even if you complain to their useless support people.
I am in the process of moving my websites to a different provider.
BTW, they won't refund ANYTHING back.
DO NOT USE NETFIRMS - All the negative reviews here are pretty accurate
Run away!
For weeks now our company has not been able to send emails to anything in the Microsoft suite (@hotmail, @mns, etc.). Their servers are flagged on Hotmails end. They have a work around, but that costs extra. Unacceptable.
They wanted to charge me 150 bucks just…
They wanted to charge me 150 bucks just to paste a sql code to restore my website after wordpress taking a crap because of the lackluster functionality of Wordpress which is another garbage platform messed up the entire website when I updated “customizr” per their recommendation. Stay far away.
I was charged three times the going…
I was charged three times the going rate for their Plus plan.
from 2017 to 2020: $322.20 CA (OK I guess)
From 2020 to 2023: 322.20 and a month later $250.20
When I complained they refunded me $88.00 so my payment for the three years was: $439.48 CA.
They now advertise their plan for 3 years at: $145.20. So I am paying three times the amount.
They hang up on me and I was polite.
I do not recommend this company.
Brutally bad, run away find somebody else.
Horrible company, avoid them at all costs.
I've lost multiple domains now because their garbage systems don't bother notifying you when something is expiring. They will spam the living hell out of you about anything else though, just not anything that actually matters. Their support team try to help, but are limited and fairly useless for anything other than minor problems.
They are a brutally bad company, and there are better options out there that are cheaper and offer better support.
Continuous downhill experience, but prices climbing.
About 25 years ago, I had a couple dozen web sites hosted at Netfirms. It was pretty good. Typical minor problems were always addressed by the staff up in Canada.
It obviously was sold many years ago and it keeps getting worse and worse. And, the renewal prices keep going up - without any prior notice - just renews automatically at a higher price.
I'm now at the point where all my sites are just about transferred to a much better and less expensive host.
