Keep up the good work

I've had the ONNOA Smart Timer for a few months now and, without a doubt, it's by far the best I've ever used! It works perfectly, both the device and the connection to the app, which is clear and intuitive, making it very easy to use. You can tell it was created by photographers because it solves problems that even the most professional photographers face every day! Then there's another aspect, because it's extremely rare, that I have to highlight: the customer support is spectacular and rare to find in this busy world! When I had a question about how the app worked, I sent a simple email and one of the founders replied immediately, and their help was so effective that the issue was quickly resolved with a functional solution. I repeat, this level of care for users is rare and very good. I sincerely hope you succeed in developing the device and that more and more people can use it. I am extremely satisfied! Keep up the good work!

Great Tool

I’ve been using the ONNOA SmartTimer for a while now, and I really like that it keeps getting new features through free app updates.

The new Lightning Trigger and Laser Trigger are probably my favorite additions so far. I’ve already tried the Lightning Trigger, and it makes capturing lightning much easier than trying to time the shot manually. The Laser Trigger is also a really interesting feature for photographing fast-moving subjects and experimenting with more creative shots.

Everything is controlled through the app, and the setup was straightforward. I also appreciate that existing customers receive these updates without having to pay extra.

The SmartTimer is small, easy to carry, and has become a useful part of my camera bag. So far, I’m very happy with both the product and the support from the ONNOA team.

Amazing support - helped me with the entire set up

I personally can’t relate to some of the negative reviews about ONNOA’s customer service. When I had trouble connecting my new Sony A7 V, I was able to speak directly with the team by phone — even on a Sunday evening.

One of the three founders personally took the time to guide me through the setup and helped me get everything working. The support was patient, friendly, and genuinely focused on finding a solution. You can really tell that the people behind ONNOA are photographers themselves and are passionate about what they do…

It’s rare to receive this level of support, especially outside normal business hours. My experience with both the SmartTimer and the ONNOA team has been very positive, and I’m really happy with the small device.

Keep up the great work, guys!

Not functional on android

Not functional on android, app now doesn't exist and can't be downloaded from anywhere , which is not what was listed online, now left with a useless brick

Following a major update, Google temporarily took the app offline for one day while completing its review. The Android app is officially available and can be downloaded here:

We put a lot of care into this update and added several new features for all our users at no additional cost. That’s why we were honestly a little sad that this brief interruption resulted in that review. At the same time, we completely understand that you could only judge the experience you had at that moment.

Kundenservice super, Email-Kontakt kann haken!

Während eines Telefonats mit Justus konnten wir mein Problem lösen. Meine schlechte Erfahrung (s. u.) beruhte auf einem Email-Zustellungsproblem (vermutlich) durch den Provider. Will heißen: Sowohl meine Problemschilderungen als auch meine direkten Antworten auf Nachfragen wurden dem Onnoa-Team schlichtweg nicht bzw. nur durch das Bewertungsportal zugestellt. Der Timer läuft nun auch mit Licht... :-)

Zuerst: Der Smart-Timer tut, was er soll, da gibt es nichts zu meckern. Allerdings scheint mein Gerät einen Defekt zu haben, die Beleuchtung funktioniert bei korrekter Handhabung nicht. Ich habe im Abstand von zwei Wochen jeweils eine Email geschrieben und um Unterstützung/Info gebeten. Seit ca. sechs Wochen warte ich nun auf eine Antwort. Das ist nicht nur völlig unzumutbar, sondern widerspricht auch komplett dem Serviceversprechen der Jungunternehmer. Ich werde das Ding wohl zurückschicken müssen. Schade eigentlich.

vielen Dank für deine Rückmeldung. Es tut uns wirklich leid, dass du den Eindruck hattest, mit deinem Anliegen allein gelassen worden zu sein. Das entspricht ganz und gar nicht dem Service, den wir bieten möchten.

Wir haben nach deiner Bewertung sowohl unser gesamtes Postfach als auch den vollständigen Spam-Ordner durchsucht, konnten aber leider keine deiner vorherigen Nachrichten finden. Direkt nachdem wir deine Bewertung gesehen hatten, haben wir dir persönlich per E-Mail geschrieben. Leider haben wir darauf seit mittlerweile zwei Wochen noch keine Antwort erhalten.

Du kannst mich sehr gerne persönlich anrufen. Meine Telefonnummer findest du auf unserer Website im Impressum. Ich unterstütze dich dann direkt und wir schauen uns das Problem gemeinsam an.

Bezüglich der Beleuchtung gibt es seit Kurzem eine neue Einstellung in der App. Dort kannst du mit nur einem Klick festlegen, ob die LED während der Aufnahme ein- oder ausgeschaltet sein soll. Möglicherweise lässt sich das gewünschte Verhalten dadurch bereits direkt anpassen.

Uns ist sehr wichtig, dass dein SmartTimer einwandfrei funktioniert und du zufrieden bist. Bitte melde dich kurz bei mir, damit wir das gemeinsam klären können.

I’m hoping this company can resurrect…

I’m hoping this company can resurrect their reputation. I purchased this a while ago, before Xmas. It was only this week I opened the box. It does not charge. I’ve changed leads, used plugs, power banks and it will not charge at all. I’ve emailed, sent FB messages all of which have been ignored. Yes you might say I haven’t given them a lot of time BUT when they wanted to get a sale they replied straight away. Poor service

So einen schlechten Kundenservice habe ich noch nie erlebt. Ich habe meine Anfrage zweimal per E-Mail geschickt und nicht einmal eine Antwort erhalten. Sehr schade!

I’ve been using this for about a year…

I’ve been using this for about a year now and honestly what stands out most isn't even the tech (which is great btw) but the actual people behind it. I'm a bit of a technophobe so I probably asked a dozen "stupid" questions early on, but they stayed so patient with me. I even got a reply back late on a Tuesday night which I totally didn't expect!!

The device itself is beautifuly made, compact and great battery life. I'm getting great results.
If your are a potential customer, I say "go for it", I'm happy to own one 😌

Excellent product

Excellent product. Works perfectly with my EOS 5D III. Much more convenient than the wired alternative. Elegant design which works really well with the free App.

Postage was pretty quick from Germany. Very friendly company to deal with.

Great Product and Service

I bought the Smartimer Pro and been very impressed with it. Yes it is more expensive and has a steeper learning curve than other intervalometers but it has an excellent feature set and works seamlessly with the iOS App.

On a couple of occasions I have contacted Onnoa for advice and they have been very helpful.

Doesn't stay secure on the camera when moving

Falls off the camera to easily when you move you have to take it off everytime lost mine after 2nd day of using went to buy another but they weren't interested in giving me any sort of a discount for the 2nd one....poor customer service.

Hi, thank you for your feedback, and we’re really sorry about the experience you had.

Since then, we’ve improved the dimensions and fit of the hot shoe mount to make it more secure on different camera models. At the time you contacted us, we unfortunately didn’t have a compatible size available for your specific camera, so sending the same replacement would most likely not have solved the issue.

We’re also sorry that our response at the time made you feel unsupported. If you still need a replacement, please get in touch with us again and let us know which camera model you’re using. We’ll do our very best to find a suitable solution for you.

Only good experiences

I've only ever used cheap intervalometers from China (the ones for 20-30€). Of course this timer is a bit more expansive but can just do so much more and also brings an intuitive app with it unlike the others.
No bad experiences for now which means 5 stars. 👍🏼

Met one of the founders at a timelapse spot in Singapore. He gave me his SmartTimer to test and since then I've been waiting for the preorder. My own SmartTimer arrived this week and I couldn't be happier with the quality of it and the ordering process. These german guys have brought an incredibly good product onto the market and there is a lot of love and commitment in everything. They are really worth supporting as they are such a young company and already deliver so much quality. Thanks Guys! I will recommend you!

Such dedicated young people making their vision a reality! I am one of the pre-orderers and I am so excited about the product. I hope they go into production soon and I can soon order another Intervalometer for my second camera :)
