Not very helpful and definitely not straight
I was disappointed with the service from Rand Logistics. The package I booked in with them was not collected twice, apparently for being too heavy for one man to lift; this was despite clearly stating the weight. I was charged for a man going to collect and going away again!
Eventually it was collected but then I was charged excess for it being over sized, without my authorisation - they just took a debit card payment. I challenged them on this but of course in the small print there it is, they can do it.
Poor communication, poor service and definitely wouldn't use them again.

The staff was really helpful and polite, I was in a rush and they handled everything very quickly. My package arrived safely on the day estimated and I could keep track of it throughout the whole journey! (from Leeds, UK to Romania)

I sent a christmas parcel to my daughter in Lanzarote in December and was quoted approximately £40 for a 2kg parcel. I dropped the parcel off at a local store with no problems. 3 days later my daughter in Lanzarote received a call from a very irate Spanish customs officer demanding another 40 Euros tax or the parcel would be sent back and we would be charged! My daughter called me as she knew nothing of the surprise parcel!!! I eventually paid the 40 Euros so the parcel could be delivered! I contacted RAND Logistics to be told, " Read the small print, it does state some countries will charge tax for certain items." I asked why this wasn't highlighted when the price fo my parcel was quoted and they are provided with all the details of my parcel? His extremely unhelpful response , "read our terms and conditions". Will stick with Royal Mail from now on! Terrible service and rude staff!!!! AVOID!!!!!
Gift to South Africa
I used Rand Logistics to send a present to my daughter in South Africa. I chose to use the local collection point (conveniently close) because I could drop the parcel off at a time that suited me. The website was pretty straightforward, but read carefully to make sure you print off the correct documents. Although we took all the correct documents with us and used "Staples" as the drop off point, they did not take all the documents causing a delay. I had to contact Rand twice, once at the drop off point and they were really helpful, and again the next day when Staples said they did not have all the information. Rand again were very helpful. Tip; ensure you put the Account Number of Rand in the pro forma invoice.
The parcel was delivered to Johannesburg awaiting clearance 4 days after dropping it off in York - DHL were the "shippers" however no notification was sent to either me or my daughter to inform us that they were awaiting payment of duty and taxes, even though it said on the statues on DHL website that they were contacting us. I contacted DHL 3 times from the UK, and my daughter contacted them 3 times in SA regarding this payment and then had a delay in the money going through. We did have to pay nearly £85 duty on the gifts, which I have never done before, (Pro-Forma value £150). They say I can claim it back when I go to visit her in March.
The parcel was sent over Christmas period, left the UK on the 17 Dec and it was signed for by my daughter on the 7 Jan.
Rand were really helpful and it was cheap to send £39, however you can only send gifts worth less than R400-500 (£22.98 to £28.70) anything over that amount you have to pay duty and taxes.

The parcel was delivered in Los Angeles 2 days after dropping it off in Nottingham - impressive! And about half the price of other services.
Super Efficient
I booked collection of a large parcel from the UK for delivery to Ireland.
The courier called to collect the parcel 10 mins after I had booked it !
Unfortunately although the Company involved had told me that the parcel was ready for collection , they were taken aback by this level of efficiency and did not in fact have the parcel ready.
The courier arranged to call again the next day. A surcharge was imposed for the second collection (I don't consider that unreasonable as the responsibility lay with the Company to ensure that the parcel was ready for collection.)
Once collected at the second attempt, the parcel was transported efficiently to its destination.
In my experience Rand Logistics provided me with a premium service at a budget price, you can't get better than that.
Competative price and excellent service.
Sent parcel to New Zealand in bit of a last minute panic just before Christmas. The last minute panic was due to the complete failure of another courier company to pick my parcel up despite them saying they would do it on 3 separate occasions. So it was a relief when Rand Logistics came through and delivered to New Zealand before Christmas.
It was also refreshing to be able to speak with someone on the phone and for that person to be helpful and know what they were talking about! Great service and will use again.

Great service sent a parcel out to Australia to my son arrived within a week tracked its journey all the way.
Generally good - marred by after sales service
The online booking process is fine - leaving the parcel locally is great. The rates are clear and competitive. I was however annoyed at the excess applied as my parcels went a tiny fraction out of volumetric measurement although they were underweight. I could not have known this. The rates thus charged in the end exceeded other carriers. When I queried this I was very unhappy at the curt and dismissive attitude of customer services, who really could not be bothered. Overall Rand provide a decent option (although the parcels arrived in China 5 days after indicated) and if you get the price quoted it's fair enough. Used before with no problems and may give them another go in future.
WORST COURIER COMPANY IVE EVER DEALT WITH !!!
Rand Logistics is the worst courier company I've ever dealt with, they cost me a fortune in refunds to my clients, they have a 'we dont guarantee a collection' policy which is insane, they were extremely rude and discourteous with no apology just a really arrogant approach to my situation to the tone of ' well you're getting a refund whether you want one or not and we'll call the matter closed' no offer of compensation no nothing except a rude cocky arrogant person on the other end of the phone.
You would be better delivering your parcel by hand yourself than trust these idiots
Excellent service i can't fault Rand logistics
I can't fault Rand logistics my motorcycle frame was with the buyer in France within 48hrs.I would certainly use Rand again it was a simple transaction and was the first time i had shipped a bulky item abroad.
European consignment executed economically and expeditiously.
Using Rand's excellent website, sending a small parcel to Germany was simplicity itself. The quote for DPD Classic beat all those I had seen. The collection, transit time and delivery and signature confirmation were all within the stated targets. The intermediate tracking was useful.
Based on my satisfactory experience, I recommend Rand without hesitation.

Cost effective, reliable -- excellent shipping service!
Online agents were very helpful. Although I could not contact the driver to get an exact pick-up time for my package, it was picked up in the window I suggested. Made my train on time! The packages arrived in great condition, and not long after I arrived home from my trip -- shipped some personal effects so that I would not have to travel with them.
Less expensive than any other shipping service I looked into, but got great service and shipping. Thanks!
Rand logistic made me happy for few moments
Very professional service in the first contacts with this company. Very clear and transparent their website,any information on time but only in the beginning. When parcel was taken there no new information on the website and on my email. In my opinion should be. I was little nervous about this but I was waiting. My package in very good condition and on time to the door was delivered but on their website lack of any information about track delivery and no information about finished this process. Maybe Rand Logistic should change this?
However, thanks for good price and for good delivery without problems.
In Wednesday my parcel was taken by courier (11:00am) and on Tuesday (13:00) it was delivered to Spain to the door.
Really I recommend this company and I'll tell about them to my friends.

Have used twice now for parcel deliveries to Australia and New Zealand. In both cases they were at reasonable cost and gave an excellent delivery service.
Great service at very low cost!
The cost was much cheaper than that of the other major large couriers and the servcie was top otch. I dropped off the package at a collection point near my house, and was swiftly picked up and delivered. I had all the tracking details to monitor the package. I would highly recommend!
