Refusing legal refund – Misleading & Stressful
Route One is refusing my legal right to a refund for a return dispatched on the 14th day. Despite providing a Post Office receipt from 1st April, customer service (Maddi) claims I am "late" because they didn't receive it within 14 days.
This is a direct breach of Section 35(5) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which states the deadline is met when the consumer sends the goods, not when the merchant receives them.
Being forced to accept a credit note instead of my money is mentally draining and feels like my £119.95 is being held hostage. It is a constant struggle to get them to follow basic UK law. I am now escalating this to a bank chargeback and Trading Standards.

Pretty Poor Experience
Pretty Poor Experience, I purchased 2 x Nike SB jumpers one was a sweat (instore purchase) one was hoodie (Online purchase) Both shrunk in the wash at 30deg on their first wash - which is what the instructions said.
I took them both back to the Southampton store who just told me to contact customer service online which i have done and it's a frustrating process taking photos, and faffing with a return.
The guy in the shop could have just looked at them and seen they both obviously defects. I wouldn't normally complain they are cazy expensive and both a waste of time and money (long drive to Southampton).
Also the DHL notification that customer service told me would arrive, never did. So it's a failure on product, instore CS and online CS.
Guess i need to wear them as £105 crop-tops

UPDATE: Apologies i meant DPD (for the collection) not DHL - they just randomly arrived today - i received no notification. Luckily i was working from home and handed over the clothes, they were not wrapped or ready so hopefully they arrive ok - they are loose in a bag with the driver.

Apologies that this couldn’t be resolved in-store. Depending on the nature of the fault, some cases do need to be handled by our Head Office team.
Following your contact on Monday, I arranged a collection from your address so the items can be returned to us and reviewed with our supplier. As promised, once we’ve received and assessed it, we’ll be in touch to resolve this as quickly as possible.
Regarding DHL, we do not use this service. Your order was sent via Royal Mail, and tracking shows it was delivered within the selected timeframe - I will reach out to find out more on this.

I ordered a size 32" waist and it was far smaller than size 30" in all my other clothing including your own brand. I feel a little aggrieved having to pay return postage costs under the circumstances.
