Avoid .... MONEY LOST and didn't even open .... If I could give them 0 stars I would . Money taken for facility in Glasgow opening In July 2026 . 2 days notice given that they won't be opening but promised a new date in August, work hadn't even started to build facility . Then 2 days notice again that they failed to openon promised date . An update promised in 2 weeks , 4 weeks later and email saying they won't open till November refund offered . Refund then not processed and told to ask bank for chargeback
Money making scheme only, avoid
The classes themselves wouldn’t be bad but because the business model is to throw free trials at anyone and everyone, the classes suffer immensely.
My daughter was stuck in limbo for months because the class couldn’t progress their techniques due to trial students ( conservatively 2-3 per week)
Bad behavour also ruined the classes and again this was due to “trial” attendees or some permanent kids who’s parents wanted a break.
Cancelling is unbelievably difficult and even after cancelling (and paying a month’s fee to leave) we were still hounded
Not good, total con, avoid
Not professional at all
Awful I thought my Son. and before he started his first session I explained that this is his first time and the verbally reassured me but it seems very chaotic. The male on the reception desk told me if I was not happy then I would receive a refund if I was not going to continue my Son went for his induction day and a first day he was heartbroken no reassurance at all not professional at all

SCAMMERS.
SCAMMERS.
Whilst already taking a class my daughter was wrongly enrolled for a 2nd class that we never signed up for. They had wrongly taken over £250+ to which I brought to their attention IN APRIL, they admitted fault over email and said they would process the refund. It is now almost October and I am being ignored via phone and email. If I do get an email response it’s to say that it is “still with the refund department.” 6 MONTHS LATER? I have requested a call on multiple occasions, nothing. Seeking legal advice on these scammers. Do not send your kids here. You will be robbed.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with The Gymnastics Academy in Sheffield.
In March, I paid £1 for a trial session, but I never attended the trial session. Despite this, I was subsequently charged membership fees for approximately six months, as well as an additional £80.99 membership fee, without my knowledge or understanding that I had been enrolled in a paid membership.
The terms stated that written notice was required within 48 hours after attending the trial session if you did not wish to continue. However, I never attended the trial session in the first place.
I did not knowingly agree to ongoing membership payments, yet my card details were used for repeated charges over several months. I also did not receive any specific notification after each monthly payment was taken, so I remained unaware of these charges until a payment failed this month and the academy contacted me about the outstanding amount. That was when I discovered that I had been charged for approximately six months.
This has been an extremely frustrating and upsetting experience. I feel that the trial and membership process was unclear and that I was not properly informed that I would be charged ongoing membership fees.
I would not recommend this company based on my experience. I believe the process was misleading and unfair to customers. Parents should be extremely careful, read all the terms thoroughly, and regularly check their bank or card statements before signing up.

I’m disappointed with the staffing levels and the safety arrangements at the Hunslet branch.
On Thursday, 10/09/2026, I noticed that there was only one teacher supervising around 10 or more children. I raised my concerns with the teacher that same day, hoping the situation would improve.
However, when I returned on 17/09/2026, I witnessed a similar situation. Although there were two teachers present, one was a trainee.
As a parent, I find this concerning and do not feel comfortable with my child continuing her training in an environment where I have concerns about adequate supervision and safety.
I expected better staffing and a safer environment for my child. Unfortunately, due to these concerns, I have decided to cancel her subscription.
I hope the management will take this feedback seriously and review the staffing arrangements to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
Take ALL the money and give nothing back
We started with the gymnastics academy following an offer of a month's membership for £10, however, an additional £80 was then taken over the following month. Despite querying this, no one ever "called me back" as they were meant to. We stuck with the club as my son was liking the sessions and we thought the coaches were ok, however, coaches barely last a couple of months before they simply disappear! Most of the time there is one coach in the building who is trying to teach and control behaviour, a losing battle! To add insult to injury, when you do try to contact them, they never respond, so you can't quit even if you want to! I've cancelled my Direct Debit as the only way to end membership and would definitely not recommend this joke of a business to other parents.
Castleford Holiday Camp
My son attended the Castleford Holiday camp and the first session of the holidays in July where lots of kids attended was great. Due to a good start we booked our son in for 2 sessions in the first week of September when our sons school had not opened yet whilst other schools had started. There was only 3 children in attendance which was fine but we were disappointed to hear from our son at the end of the day that the Camp teachers did not engage much with them and most of the time where on their phone. Our son said the children had to entertain themselves. We expected the same standard of care & planning with fun games for the children to be provided throughout the full summer period. We Definetly will not be using them again.

I am disappointed with the overall experience at Leeds Gymnastics Academy. I had enrolled my 11 year old daughter at South Retail Leeds unit recently. The teaching quality at the current location is far below what we previously experienced at the Geldard Estate facility, and this has affected my daughter’s learning and confidence. What made matters worse was the helpline — once you become a customer, reaching anyone for support or even a simple class reschedule becomes nearly impossible. After repeated failed attempts and no meaningful response, I finally lost hope. Parents deserve better reliability and professionalism. I am sharing this review to help guide other families when choosing a gymnastics academy.
Pure Fraud
Pure Fraud , keep wanting more money even when I’ve e.mailed and cancelled my kids membership . My foster daughter was left with a broken wrist , they had no ice packs they never let me know she was in agony when I picked her up . The instructors are not qualified either.
stay clear of this company!
stay clear of this company!! I signed up for a class in June and turned up with my 9yo daughter to a derelict building and to this date (02/09/2026) they still have not opened, I cancelled 5 weeks ago as clearly my daughter has now started elsewhere and they've had the cheek to take £56 from me for a months classes!! no classes have run at all. I have asked for refund and they refuse, saying my daughter is welcome to go to classes up till Nov. NO CLASSES ARE RUNNING. avoid avoid avoid

Employee exploitation and mafiose practices.
My daughter went there for 6 months. Very quickly we started to realise the staff was changing too often, most of them young girls. We have no complains about the staff, they are great but we found out they were underpaid (or not paid at all) and employed in industrial-era conditions.
One day no one even bothered to open. One young member of the staff opened the shutter 45min later. She was told she wouldn't even get paid, even though it was the supervisor's duty to open. We got no apologies from GA whatsoever.
When it was time to cancel our membership (more than a month in advance), GA kept charging us for two months and trying to then charge us for the bank chargeback! Unbelievable. Avoid this place like the plague.
AVOID please!!
AVOID please!!! Don't make the same mistake as I did!!
I read the reviews but decided to give them a chance- wrong choice!!!
Giving one star as can't select 0.
My daughter started at gymnastics academy last September, in a year all the coaches have left due to not being paid, ratios not being followed and when issues were raised we have been ignored by the business and customer service.
On a couple of occasions, coaches have arrived late or not arrived at all, this meant that the sessions could not go ahead and were canceled- we we were of course still charged and when tried to contact customer service completely ignored.
Last straw was when they didn't even open the centre for sessions and said that someone was coming to open soon, over an hour later no one arrived and when we requested a refund we were ignored again.
I decided to cancel the membership and it took over 11 days to get a response. After this and having confirmation that the membership was cancelled, I'm still being charged 2 months later.
When I've contested this they have requested a £50 fee charge back . They have now deleted all accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Google and unable to reach.
Signed up for the trial
Signed up for the trial, later read reviews and changed my mind. Emailed to cancel the trial, they are now daily trying to take £116.99 out of my bank as they are denying receiving my email cancellation request so we have automatically been enrolled onto the membership. I have provided evidence of the email I sent to request cancellation of the trial but they keep ignoring this and trying to retrieve money from my bank account!! Absolutely awful company.
Reply to you comment below - I have emailed 4 separate times with the screenshots that I sent on the 16/08/2026 - you replied to my first one so please explain how you have not received them now?
Again, reply to below. You are stating I sent this to a third party email address - please clarify why you have - hello @thegymnasticsacademy.co.uk as your contact details on the website if this is not owned by you? I sent two emails - one to the above & one to - hello @m.thegymnasticsacademy.co.uk
As these were the two emails you had contacted me on, I have sent both screenshots via email to hello@ thegymnasticsacademy.co.uk to prove I sent the request on 16/08/2026 - I have sent this 5 times now with no reply and you claiming you have not received them. I’ll wait for the next excuse.
Please note I have had to leave a space between hello@ on the email addresses - on here not via email.
Just to add - the email that was received on 21 August 2026 was the screenshot evidence of the email I sent 16/08/2026 - I did not request cancellation on 21/08/2026 as stated below.

The Company number is not on their website, which is illegal. It's likely to prevent the general public from finding who the owner is, so as not to enable them to see his history of losing employment tribunals.
For anyone who's interested, this latest incarnation is actually called VISTA ENTERPRISE PORTFOLIO (UK) LIMITED (trading as The Gymnastics Academy).
Shameless.
Concerns Regarding Safeguarding and Facilities
I attended a trial session at the huddersfield branch, with a veiw to use the holiday camp provision and became concerned about the environment in which children would be cared for. Parents are not present during the camp, which runs approximately 9am–3pm with extended hours available, so I would expect a high level of safeguarding, supervision and organisation.
My concerns included the open access to the gymnastics area, which is separated from the public lobby by low-level shelving and a fabric roller gate; the lack of an onsite toilet and handwashing facilities, with children needing to use public facilities elsewhere in the shopping centre; and hadquestions around how supervision and staff ratios are maintained during these arrangements.
I was also concerned to learn that optional hot meals would be sourced from local takeaways, with McDonald’s and Pizza Express given as examples. When I questioned this in relation to Government expectations around children's food provision, I was told the academy does not consider itself a childcare provider and therefore does not need to follow childcare guidelines. I found this difficult to reconcile with children being left in their care for the majority of the day.
I also observed sessions where staff appeared unsure about the structure and timing of activities. While the staff themselves were friendly, this did not give me the confidence I expected from a holiday camp.
I raised my concerns directly with the academy and requested a refund. My concerns were acknowledged initially, but my subsequent correspondence addressing the food provision and the academy's position regarding childcare regulation has not been answered.
I appreciate that every family will have different expectations, but based on my experience I did not feel comfortable leaving my child in the holiday camp, and subsequently raised concerns with Ofsted. I would encourage other parents to visit beforehand and ask detailed questions about safeguarding, supervision, facilities and food provision before booking. I use another gymnastics provider locally but they dont offer a constant holiday club so i have a direct comparison for my expections.

Awful awful awful...Do not use especially if your kid is older. Waste of money... they do offers and incentives to sign you up for a year and then DO NOT honour them. The quality of the teaching is awful. More staff changes than Mcdonalds. The quality of the lessons (apart from 1 staff me.ber who last 8 weeks) is horrific. Wont then give you refund when you want to leave due to there t+cs despite THEM not meeting there own promo and there own t+cs. Dont get me started on the horrific customer service. They never get back to you. I am taking legal advice right now looking to get money back im owed as well as damages. This is a money making scam and nothing else....AWFUL!!!
Id give them negative stars if i could
