Went to Oulton leeds, not been for a while... I can't believe how much meat they give you now it's a joke..., when she was cutting the meat I was sweating more than she was, on the drive down there I thought to myself Im gonna save a little bit of Turkey for my dog, guess I don't like my dog that much after all, I ate it all. All 2 mouth fulls!

People are still paying to eat there and it's not cheap. Won't be going again just another rip off to add to the list.

Plus side-

Good friendly young lad doing a good job seating everyone etc.. I'm rooting for the young workers I feel for the good ones who wanna work, and it's good to see great social skills from him.

Countries in a hole I get it, we now pay more for less on everything. My choice to go, and my choice to not go.
for me it's not the worth the money.

Great meal at the Cheam Rd Ewell carvery. Food fresh, hot and just what you want from a good roast.
What made the meal truly special was our waitress Laura. She was very attentive, cheerful and welcoming. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal.
Good service like hers is hard to find and she is a real credit to the Ewell team.

Tried the takeaway service, wish I hadn`t bothered, the roast potatoes were as hard as housebricks and dry, all the vegetables were squashed into one bowl and just a mass of stodge, meat was overcooked and dry the gravey was as runny as water, overall can`t say one good word about it. For £11.49 it was terrible most of it went in the bin

The food is always lovely but the only fault is the yorkshire puddings, the are far to crispy and dried out., also there is never and swede offered .service is always spot on and speedy .

Shout out for Hannah at the Arrowe Park Toby. Looked after us very well and was very patient helping us get the correct discount on our loyalty card.

Everything was fine. Food good, Eleanor was extremely helpful and very pleasant.

Unappealing cold food which looked like it had been out for many hours. Meat looked sparse and unattractive and potions were very small. Gravy at least was hot. Dinner was inedible sadly. Don’t bother going there at all.

Had two breakfast delivered this morning delivered bout 1045, 6 ,9,2026 absolutely awful both breakfast were just random leftovers, sausage was dry tasteless eggs well wouldn't call them eggs , the hole breakfast was so disappointing, as had two breakfast couple weeks ago gave them 10, star , so clearly there not consistent, who ever thought that takeaway was acceptable needs to go on a course or get glasses,

Well, I thought I would buy a couple of these new takeaway meals, as I read that one place selling them, was Iceland.
Keen to try one, the 'Slow Cooked Beef and Roasties Bake', which you can do in a microwave oven, or a conventional one, from frozen.
I plumped for the micro, and followed the instructions.
After following all instructions, I tested the contents with a knife, in the centre of the food, only to find it was clap cold!
I then kept giving it a few more 'blasts of heat, checking as I went along. When I was happy with the temperature, I then out it on my plate, sat down and tried it. Well, it was a disaster, the roast spuds were hard and undercooked, as were the other veg, and as for the 'thick gravy' well, I couldn't find much, amongst the so called carrots etc.
It was just a mess to look at, and pretty tasteless, no carrots to be seen, and the pulled beef was the same.
I gave up, and it ended in the bin.
So be warned. Can't remember the cost, but I consider it a waste of money, and won't be buying this product again.

My partner and I visited at 15.15 today for a late lunch. The menu is somewhat limited. This was the Cottingham,Hull branch. All the staff were really friendly, polite and very attentive. Food was not so nice! Dry, over cooked, bland, and as a vegetarian offering it was poor. I was very hungry so persevered with mine drowning it in gravy to moisten it. Still shocking. My partner managed 10% of hers (just the mashed potato) we paid and left having first cancelled our room booking and went elsewhere. Very disappointed, £ wasted.

Carmarthen restaurant - the portion of meat largely depends on which member of staff you have cutting it. We received slithers of fatty meat, whilst the family behind, served by another member of staff, received much thicker servings with fat trimmed. I was quite disappointed at the portion, less than what you'd find in a sandwich, and mostly fat! The veg looked tired, dried out and tasted like tough cardboard. If there was any less cheese on the cauliflower cheese, it may as well just be cauliflower. The stuffing was dry, rock solid and largely inedible. The sauces and types of gravy are not obvious and should be clearly labelled i.e. horseradish can be mistaken for bread sauce, and a vegetarian could mistakenly pour meat gravy - basic detail lacking. Kids eat for £1 during summer holidays, makes it value (except the pigs in blankets, cannot recommend these at £3.99 extra for six very small, dry overcooked pigs - over priced!)
Value doesn't mean that quality and attention to detail has to take a back seat. Mitchells & Butlers should be ashamed at their scores overall, the number of negative reviews nearly all relating to poor food are very telling indeed.
I have tried to score fairly; the venue is clean, and relaxed, the staff friendly and helpful, and cost is not unreasonable, but food itself is average (stuffing well below average).
Not a place I'll readily frequent again, unfortunately.

Have been to the Swindon Toby about 50 times, good 90% of the time. Darlington and MK are good as well. Feel sorry for the hard-working staff, rushed off their feet. Not allowed to take on more staff?!

I came here for carvery with my 3 children. Service was fantastic, great price and the food was great quality and good selection.
The children couldn't remember coming to a toby before and they absolutely loved it and have already asked to come back.

All the tobys we go to are usually good, but Bridgend today was the absolute worst, understandably we know it’s a bank holiday and going to be busier but the service was so slow, food was not as good either , will not be going back to this Toby again.

Visited Toby Carvery Thanet. Awful food, beef was gristly, absolutely tasteless and ordered pigs in blankets which didn’t even come out with our meal. Will not be returning.

Way too much for one sitting, it lasted me all day 😊
It was served in a proper cardboard bowl and lid, and separate tubs for the beans and tomatoes

Friendly staff. Very helpful and polite. Pre booked table, had to wait to be seated , no one at reception at a busy time (1:30). Very helpful after that.
Had to queue for carvery for approx 10 minutes, because the one server had to go out the back to get meat, then veg as they had no assistance. I questioned to get veg,as I reached for the very hot serving spoon, a member of staff filling take away orders was quicker and took it so I had to wait, I couldn't get the alternative because the roast potatoes the staff member was reaching for were at the front of the counter. Waiting you realise that the priority seems to be for the take away meals rather than the people at the restaurant.

We were out shopping in York and decided to pop in to Toby Carvery Hopgrove on our way home. We hadn’t reserved a table however we were offered a table in the bar area where others were also eating food so we were easily accommodated. When ordering the food at the bar, the girl behind the bar was very unhelpful and unwelcoming, she looked miserable and spoke to us as if we were bothering her, very rude. We asked questions regarding the meals to which she could not answer and just kept saying ‘just read the menu’ when she could clearly see me attempting to struggle with my toddler refraining me from reading the menu hence asking her questions regarding the kids menu.
We had to chase up ever course to see where it was, we had to ask for more cutlery as they only brought enough for 2 people although there were 4 of us eating. The encouraged us to buy refillable drinks but the when we went to the machine it was out of order.a couple of our party had selected a carvery to which we had to wait 10 mins for a server to come to serve the meat and then wait an additional 20 mins for them to replace the gravy.
The lady at the front desk was lovely and welcoming but everything after that was abysmal and we will never be returning to this establishment.

Toby Carvery Chelmsford.
Went for a lunch today ,table booked for 13.00 .All of the Food was Cold /Warm at best .
The dishes were either full and cold like the pasta or empty / half empty where they had been standing around and in some cases dried out.
The Gravey was the hottest part and that was also just warm .
Manager blamed the Chef ( if you could call him that ).
IF TOBY CARVERY ARE UNABLE TO SERVE DECENT FOOD THEN IT'S TIME TO CALL IT A DAY WITH MORE THAN 50% NEGATIVE FEEDBACK .

Went to toby carvery middlesbrough,Price increases nothing short of obscene,£42 for two dinners and two cans of coke,The chef with the ginger beard gave my wife two pieces of turkey that thin i did not know if she should eat it or i should take it home and shave with it,they were always good with meat portions before,I said you are a bit shy with the meat and he gave another small skinny bit disgusting,I asked him for a bit of each meat which he gave me but i have as much chance of winning the lottery twice in one week than getting any of the lamb,As for the broccoli it was not al-denti more like al-cemti the broccoli was shown a photo of an oven,The last time i went the breakfast was garbage a lot of which was overcooked but this dinner was a new low,Never again and i hope they go bust as that is what the owners deserve,I did not know but apparently its not that long ago since they got a rubbish health rating from the council and they had to pay a lot of money out to clean it up perhaps thats what they are trying to recover,My advice give it a miss.
