Horrendous service, should be ashamed of themselves. My daughter was in Belfast for 2 nights, she booked through this excuse of a company. Money taken from her account, drivers charging her again. Driver rang to say he was there but wasn't and then said he had dropped them to their destination but did not but money taken. Had to book another cab and pay in full AGAIN. Avoid Avoid Avoid.
AVOID!!!! Booked a taxi at 16:45 for 23:45 for a lift to guarantee a lift home. Taxi rang 5 minutes before due to arrive, it was unfortunately missed, when rang back immediately they said 59 minute wait, contacted again to express our concerns as we were stranded in Belfast with no way home due to them cancelling one minute before pick up, woman on phone was extremely rude and confrontational stating the roads were closed which was lies as there was traffic coming and going from both sides. So unhelpful and has left us having to walk 90 minutes home after midnight. Do not use!!!!!
Would not use or rely on . Booked a taxi 6 hours in advance and they cancelled 1 minute before pick up time … rang them and they said roads were closed… which they are not ,plenty of traffic on the roads. Have left us stranded at 11;45pm in Belfast. Girl on phone was very unhelpful and rude
Very kind, prompt and friendly. Went the extra mile for me! Would recommend!
Valuecabs Belfast. Rip off firm. Booked a 6 seater back to Donaghadee during the week. Waiting at 11.30. Rang and told can't provide a 6 seater and will send 2 cabs. Pre booked approx price was £55. 2 taxi cost was near £90. Rang but no interest. Disgusting
Absolutely awful! Pre-booked taxi which never turned up and others drivers are able to take passengers who didn’t book at all! 2nd time this happened in as many weeks. Totally disappointed with the service as I have been recommending them to so many for over 20 years. Telephone staff didn’t help at all and rude! Never use again - as a frequent business user with many contacts who visit the city this is unacceptable, will use other companies from now on after giving the chance to redeem yourselves.
If I could give zero stars I would. Pre-booked a taxi via the app yet when the time comes there’s no availability or a driver accepts and cancels (three times this has happened with the one booking). Two cars passing my location and ten cars sitting at the airport for the past half hour. Will not be using again no matter how stuck I am
Sat August 2nd 2025. 2 adults wanted a taxi from grand central station belfast to Mandela hall,12.20 pm.
A white taxi can was parked at the office as we walked out from the station.
Asked the driver 'is the taxi available ' yes.
Sat in, and at once the driver started on a raging rant about foreigners.
Send them home, look at them, pointing to people whose skin colour was not white.
Told us figures about government debt, nhs broken, no jobs for 'our people ' M3 closed why???everything possible he could complain about. What a bad start to our day in Belfast.
Upside is the concert in Mandela hall was positive, hopeful and we enjoyed top-class music.
Next time we will pass by this taxi office.
I would prefer to walk.
For the second time Value Cabs failed me when I needed to get a flight. Booked over a week in advance. Depending on them to get me to airport on time. 5.30am so didn't expect it to be busy. 15 minutes before I get a text to say due to high demand they'd be late. No good for me. Had to cancel and figure out another plan.
Do you think we were born yesterday. We had a taxi prebooked from q cabs to take us from the boulevard to banbridge. This guy from value cabs turns up trying to get our business saying oh they won't come all the way out here do you guys want me to drop you off. I'll even take you to belfast if u want. They are based in banbridge just cos we aren't from the area doesn't mean we are stupid! You should be trying to help people not rip them off lad
I pre-booked and it turned up almost 30 minutes late. This was due to incompetence or overbooking, not unexpected traffic etc. 20 minutes after it was due, they were still unable to provide an estimated waiting time as they were still searching for a driver. I then had to book with FonaCAB, who thankfully came quickly. Before it came, a Value Cabs driver arrived but was apparently not for me or another group who had been waiting for ages. We didn't believe him as he was sketchy and wouldn't say if he was for us when we gave our names, only when we gave our destination. The others said this has been happening. Drivers turn up and then decide if they can be bothered doing the run. It was incredibly stressful. I won't be using them again.
My experience with Value Cabs has varied widely over the years, and using them in Belfast City Centre is usually fine. However, lately I am increasingly using Value Cabs to get to and from Belfast International Airport, and find the drivers to be unprofessional and greedy.
I get that there is a surcharge for the drop off at the airport, but exactly how much each driver charges seems to vary widely between £3 and £7 depending on the drivers' mood. Furthermore, most drivers refuse to add the surcharge to the receipt. At the end of the day, I don't even care that much about the surcharge, but without it being listed on the receipt, I cannot claim it back from the company on expenses. Flying about 10 times per month at the moment, this rapidly adds up to a large amount of money I have to pay out of my own pocket.
Arrived at the booth at Belfast Grand Central Station. 5 people got their taxis before me and they rang after me!
How does that work?
Husband and I took part in the relay at the Belfast Marathon at the weekend. Stayed at Stormont Hotel the night before, as it was close to my starting point. Booked Value Cabs to take my husband to his bus 5+ miles away, which would then take him on to his starting point. I contacted lots of taxi services in Belfast and Value Cabs were the only ones willing to do the run. With the road closures in place for the marathon, it wasn't an easy run. Driver was parked as close to our hotel as he could get, waiting for my husband and got him there in good time. He managed the road closures very well. Big thanks to the driver (sorry, didn't get your name) and to Jenna who handled the booking.
Took one of their cabs from Belfast city to the city airport early morning. The booking was using their app. The taxi came on time, but when I reached the airport, he asked whether I will pay by card or cash, which was a bit confusing as I had already entered my credit card details on the app. Nevertheless, I paid using my debit card using the driver's card reader in the car. After a day it turns out I was also charged on my credit card by their app. Simply speaking, I was DOUBLE CHARGED. This is either cheating knowingly we are not from the area or incompetence. Either way, it was a bad experience.
Booked a taxi last Sunday night to Belfast City airport on Monday morning at 7.50am. At 7.40 I got a message to say my driver was unavailable! A few mins later a new driver was announced on the app only to then also disappear & I was left with a “still trying to find a driver” on the app at 8.00. When I arrived at the airport after begging a friend to be late for work & drive me I was nearly run over by a Value cab driver on the walkway ramp & there were loads of their cabs there picking up people coming out of the airport. Bookings TO the airport should be a priority… #stressful #unreliable
Tried booking after a long hard day of work, twice. Rude or incompetent!
I had booked a taxi to take me to the Air Coach in Belfast and had built in 45 minutes to allow for delays. The Value Cab did not arrive on schedule. We realised after an hour that we had missed our coach. We had to drive to Dublin so as not to miss our flight. Lost two return bus fares and had to pay £240 to park the car. More recently I complained about being charged twice. Paid cash and was also charged on the app. The company took the side of the driver who claimed I didn’t pay him. It is hard to avoid this company as it holds a dominant position in Greater Belfast.
Booked a lift to the airport with 24 hours notice. Car did not arrive, not even dispatched. Very stressful.
I got a taxi home with Bobaka on St Patrick’s night. He was the loveliest man, and he was full of many stories and had us laughing the whole way home. Made our night❤️
