Appalling service. Engineer was a complete misogynist. Would only talk to men and ignored women, even though it was the woman's house. Charged a fortune for an emergency callout, plus labour and parts. I agree with all the other negative comments. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!!!!!

I wasn’t at home and my wife couldn’t lock the door so called this company out in a bit of a panic. I arrived home in the meantime, took the lock off of the door myself and located the problem. I didn’t cancel the call out as I thought that would be unfair and I assumed that they would carry the parts to rectify the problem. When the engineer arrived, he looked at the lock and said that the whole assembly would need replacing at a cost of £450. I said that I wouldn’t be doing that so the engineer charged me for the emergency call out (£106.80) and left. I obtained the necessary part from Toolstation at a cost of £27.98 and fitted it in less than half an hour. I appreciate that we have to pay for the engineer’s expertise in these situations but I feel that this level of mark-up is totally unacceptable. Unfortunately we didn’t look at the Trustpilot reviews before contacting this company. Looking through the other reviews, I totally agree, this company should be avoided.

Do NOT be scammed by this company. I feel an idiot. Would rate 0 if I could. They turned up and bullied my daughter into paying over £100 for an emergency call out and they did not even fix the lock. Disgusted by how they operate. Avoid at all costs.

Avoid at all costs, I called these guys out on accident mistaking them for the usual company I would go to. They were advertising as LRS but all documents was for bssecurity so beware. £450 for a door mechanism which had me suspicious, but then said £550 ontop for labour which we could have had a new door for, when challanged him on this he started presuring us with fear tactics. In short we got rid of him and got a replacement mechanism from a door company near by for £60 cheaper then the £1000 they wanted.

Do not use the company. After being locked out they quickly suggested drilling through the door with minimal effort otherwise. After refusing this, I went with another locksmith. They spent about an hour breaking through the lock another way and going around the door without damaging it. The issue would NOT have been solved by them drilling which would have voided the fire door and required a much more expensive replacement of the door itself.

The name fits this company perfectly - absolute BS. Didnt try to open the door just insisted it needed replacing despite my keys being in the house. I was quoted £200 before he started the job, but the total was £480 - avoid.

I was told the locksmith would arrive within 30 minutes, but it took an hour and a half for them to get to me. Once here, I was told the door couldn’t be unlocked without drilling it, which seemed excessive. The prices were extremely high, and I left feeling completely overcharged and taken advantage of. Customer service was poor, and the locksmith was quite pushy — wouldn’t take no for an answer. I wouldn’t recommend this company.

I wish I had looked at the reviews before using this company. My lock was jammed and the ‘locksmith’ wanted to drill through the door. I managed to convince him not to and he was able to unlock my door. He tried to hard sell me a new mortise lock that the cheapest was £150 but recommended the £250 one. I declined and asked him to put my old lock back and I would sort it out using someone else. The whole job of less than 10 mins cost £240. I was shocked but felt I had no choice but to pay. I called the company later that day after sitting with the feeling of really being taken for granted and ‘had’. I was told they would look into it but never came back to me. Do not use this company.

Avoid this company at all costs. They also trade under the name LRS Locksmiths. The latch on my door broke meaning that we could not close or lock the front door so urgently needed a locksmith to come and fix it. He said on the phone he would have to come to the property and see what was wrong before giving a quote. On arrival, I was told a gearbox needed replacing which would be £350 and we needed a new cylinder which was between £100-£200. He then said labour would be added on top of this, but did not say how much. After about 45 minutes he'd finished working and I was handed an invoice for £1800. He claimed that as it was a Saturday the labour charges were higher. After much debate we got the number of the main office from him and they dropped the charge to £1100 which, I'm sure anyone would agree, is still an extortionate amount. Do not use this company!!!

A company that preys on the vulnerable. My son managed to lock himself out with the key still in the door inside. Unfortunately he happened across this company, who wanted to drill the lock out and supply an overpriced replacement lock for a bargain price of £500+. Luckily we managed to get a responsible adult around to help our son and they then managed to prize the door open with a crowbar and no damage. Still charged £276. We wish we’d checked the reviews prior to paying any money out. AVOID at all costs.

I lost my keys when I was out on a walk and had no other way of accessing my house. I contacted LRS Locksmiths, who had excellent reviews and they put me in touch with BS Security Maintenance Limited.
I asked him how much it would cost to get me back into my house, and he told me it would be £69 if the lock was straight forward. I explained it was a Yale lock.
He was with me within 30 minutes, which was good, and after looking at the lock he told me it would need drilling, so the cost would now be £145. He asked me if he wanted him to continue. I had no choice, so agreed. Within 20 seconds he was in and then told me it would cost me £549. I was so shocked at this and asked him how he could go from £145 to £549 and he just said that was the cost, and included labour, call out fee, locks, and VAT. If he had told me this before gaining access to my house, I wouldn't have proceeded. When I continued to question him and saw that he didn't have a company number, or business address on his invoice, he got aggressive, pointing his drill at me and telling me he knew where I lived and made me feel very uncomfortable. I have reported him to the Police, but feel very vulnerable now. DO NOT USE.

Left my keys (24/10/25) in the lock called this company was with me in 30 minutes straight away he wanted to drill the lock out at a cost of £265 plus added costs, luckily my friend was with me & asked him to try & slip the lock first he said he could break the door or twist the frame said I’d chance it, amazing it opened he wasn’t happy & still charged me £156 for call out & a seconds work. If we hadn’t asked him to do this he would’ve ripped as off quite happily steer clear of this company.

I locked myself out, so googled locksmiths for my area. Quoted approximately £45.00. Arrived within 45 mins. He then told me it would be more as it is a wooden door and had to be drilled out. Is was getting dark, I had my elderly mother with me, so I had to go ahead. Once we were inside he then proceeded to tell me that it would be £45.00 call out charge plus £165.00 plus vat. He then went on to say it would be £150.00 for a lock, £120.00 for handles and £150.00 to fit it. It was getting late and he told me he couldn’t get the lock until the following day, and I would have to pay up front! I told him no way was I paying that. I paid the call out and the drill out fee. My partner came the next day, bought a lock for £25.00 and reused the handles. Unbelievable

I CALLED AT 9.30 AM AS I WAS LOCKED OUT. THEY TOLD ME £ 45 TO £65 TO CHANGE THE LOCK.
THEY CAME AFTER 2 HOURS.
THEY CHARGED £ 234 TO DRILL OUT MY YALE LOCK. IT COULD HAVE BEEN OPENED EASILY. THEY LEFT ME WITH NO LOCK. DONT TRUST THEM

Saturday 11th october my 91yr old mum locked herself out I googled local locksmith & ended up with this company who are not local 45mins later the locksmith turned up spoke very little english & just kept trying to explain that he needed to use his crystal drill bit over & over he didnt shut up trying to warrant why he was putting a new lock on he kept avoiding my question how much anyway long story short he charged £489 disgusting. Dont use this company it would have been cheaper to have broken a glass panel in the door, still we live & learn & yet again advantage take of a single female 😡

I was just charged £1170 for a lock change and gearbox change. He told me the lock was high security and Astra was the only one he used because others were easy to break into but assured me it was a mid range price. Then handed me a bill for £1170 for lock and change, gearbox at £480, labour fee and alignment fee. He pressured me into paying then disappeared very quickly. I am reporting it and disputing it and will be contacting the police.

Had a key broke in my front door and called these con artists. Said they could be round in a few hours £45 and the cost of a new barrel if needed. He told me the barrel was broken and he could supply one at £170 or high security one for £270. I went for the cheapest option but he quickly said could have the high security one for £40 less so iwent for that. No mention of the £65 to fit or 20% vat before he went ahead to change the barrel. 15 minutes later I was out of pocket of £410. The actual barrel looks like it could of come from amazon for £15. STEER WELL CLEAR OF THESE CON MEN!

Complete rip off scam artists.. I got quoted £45 to readjust the locking grid on the frame, as I couldn't lock the door.
Was here not even 15 minutes and they charged £125 plus 20% VAT?! So 150 to unscrew, then shift the metal plate for better alignment and then screw it back on. 🙄 I mean honestly how can they do this to people. Disgusting 🫣

They're not local, scam quoted £45 for easy fix. There 20 mins, charged 150...I rang them, they were rude and put phone down.

My wife and I found this company under 'Your local locksmith company' but the receipt was to BS Security maintenance Limited.
Our front door lock jammed and we were unable to get in our house. It was a double glazed from door.
We called this company as a second choice. A fitter arrived in a car a couple of hours after the call (on a Friday evening). He fitted an 'Ultion' lock replacing the Yale which had been originally supplied with the door. He said that Yale locks were not particularly good. He said that he was having difficulty and would come with a different part in the morning. He gave us a bill for £320.00 which made us gulp. We felt that we had to accept and paid though on hindsight, it was unusual, for every other tradesman (plumber, electrician etc) would have sent a bill by e-mail.
The morning came and the fitter returned, this time with another lock, an 'Astra' lock, this he said was better than the Ultion. He also said that it was more expensive than the Ultion but would not charge the extra. He also showed us the lock on his tablet, the website priced it at £280.00. He fitted the lock and left. We then noticed that he had fitted the lock with the fixing screws to the exterior. Feeling most uneasy (and foolish), we called our first choice of locksmith who came and immediately saw that the lock was incorrectly fitted. He quickly rectified the problem. He advised that the supplied lock, had he fitted it would have cost about £80.00 and that is was a reasonable lock to use. He declined any payment. If only he had answered his phone earlier last night.
