Legal scam but still a scam
Like most people who have sent a review, I got conned by the "too good to be true" 50p offer. Thought I was savvy but not so sure now!
I tried to cancel the subscription on their website but it did not recognise my email address as an account.
The phone number on the website is incorrect (not enough digits) and I have also emailed them on their contact email address but to no avail.
Having looked through the responses from the company to other reviewers I have tried the phone number 020 45255459 but this just records a messages. Don't know if anyone else had any satisfaction.

Crooks, a scam ! They took £39 .50 and guess what ! No results! Contacted them via email, customer services . Then today they have taken another £39! I've reported this to my bank and had to freeze my card and get a new one to stop any further payments! DO NOT USE! Absolutely fuming! Someone somewhere is making a fortune out if scamming people with this! The site should be taken down and they should go to prison! 🤬
I have just attempted to email them again. The email is not recognised!
And tried calling the number! Says France? And sorry your call cannot be connected!
So far they have taken , without me realising, nearly £160.50! The police should get involved! 🤬

SCAM essentially the small print states you have to cancel within 48 hours or you will be charged £39.00 as they auto subscribe. When I called they just laughed and hung up.

Same as the other people. Their bullshit ai reply also means nothing. I attempted to get information about someone’s court history. They said there was info to be read. I paid 50p it then said there was no info which in itself is a scam. Then a week later they attempt to take £39 out. Hahahah, even if it is in the small print this is clearly a scam because what can they possibly justify trying to take that money for. Good on Monzo for blocking the payment. Absolutely bottom of the barrel scam company

Theft/Scammers/Predators.
Paid 50p for a background check on someone at Info-Record.com - it took that and gave me nothing.
About a week later it randomly scammed me 39 pounds out of my bank!
I called the bank (very draining for me as a mentally ill person) and they said that these predators put it in the fine print in terms and conditions, which they know many people are too mentally drained to read.
Absolutely disgusting!
I am an invisibly disabled Autistic orphan barely surviving on very little money a month, and they just STOLE a massive CHUNK of it!
I'm very angry about this - this is a disgusting business model!
Edit: Look at their passive-aggressive, ableist response - it obviously isn't that clear if many people are on here confused and distressed to have been stolen from with no awareness.

Thought I was using a legitimate company. Paid the 50p and surprise surprise no information. Checked my bank two days later and have a pending amount for £39 for dataapp1! Not the company name I used two days ago. Called the number on the negative reviews below to have the phone put done on me as soon as I mentioned the £39! Followed a link to unsubscribe and it’s saying my email isn’t recognised, so how do you unsubscribe to something you didn’t know you were subscribing to! Am waiting to see what my bank say. Hoping I get a refund

Seeking info on an individual I stupidly paid 50p for
information, as previously stated there was none forthcoming.
Then found my cc stopped by Nationwide (well done
Nationwide) as Data app 1 had tried to take £39 out of my account that I had not signed up to and they obviously have a system that detects these
Scammers. This company should be taken off Google
and the owners should be prosecuted, as there is obviously enough evidence. We should be able to give NO Stars!!

After taking £0.50 for absolutely F*all in terms of information, they send an email with your log-in details but in the VERY small print hidden among a load of information it says in 48 hours they will take a further £39 to sign up to their subscription service. So buyer beware! Not sure how these people sleep at night.
Update in response to their answer : I contacted their customer services 2 days before writing this review. Still waiting to hear from them.

1 star, they're not even worth that. I wish I knew how to get hold of them because I don't know who data app are. I've had £39 debited out of my account and looking back over my transactions I see a 50p charge but I haven't got a clue what it's for. They are thieves and should be treated as such. I will find out who they are........pure scammers.

Paid 50p for an online search. A few days later they took TWO additional payments of £19.50. They repeated that a month later. My bank (Monzo) will not reimburse me because I authorised the 50p! I've had to replace my card to stop it continuing.
