Outstanding Support Throughout My Entire Name Change Journey
I honestly cannot thank UK Deed Poll Service enough for the help and support they have given me throughout my name change journey over the last year.
I first used their service back in March 2025 to legally change my name in line with my gender identity, and more recently returned again in 2026 to make a further update to my legal name. On both occasions, the service was absolutely outstanding from start to finish.
The entire process was explained clearly and made incredibly easy to understand. I was able to arrange for an independent witness who knew me well to sign and execute the deed poll with me present, and everything went smoothly exactly as they explained it would. I never once felt confused or unsupported during the process.
What really stood out to me was how patient, professional and understanding the team were, especially Toby from the helpdesk. Every email I sent was responded to thoughtfully and respectfully, and they took the time to explain things properly instead of making me feel rushed or dismissed. As someone going through a transition-related name change, privacy and reassurance were extremely important to me, and they helped me fully understand the difference between enrolled and unenrolled deed polls so I could make the right decision for myself.
The documents arrived quickly, the instructions were clear, and the archive service gave me extra peace of mind knowing everything was safely recorded correctly. I have now updated multiple records using my deed polls without any issues at all.
Overall, I have had two consistently positive experiences with this organisation and would genuinely recommend them to anyone needing a deed poll service in the UK. Professional, reliable, supportive and very easy to deal with from beginning to end.

BEWARE .They are a scam. They say you are paying for a Deed poll but then after they get payment say you only paid for a search !!

You paid to search our archives and obtain certified copies of a Deed Poll previously issued by us. The order form you filled out clearly states in large text as a title at the top of the page: 'Apply for a copy of your archived Deed Poll' (https://www.deedpoll.org.uk/apply-for-a-copy-of-your-archived-deed-poll/) and the very first sentence on the form states: "If you returned your signed Deed Poll to us for archiving – as part of our Legal Copy and Archive Service – we can issue further legal copies from our archives". We do not know what more we could do to make it any clearer to you that you are not ordering a new Deed Poll using that form.
Furthermore, as is also stated on the order form you completed (and in the email we later sent you): "Please note, the £14 fee you initially pay is to search our archives and records. If your Deed Poll is not in our archives, you can ask us to issue you with a replacement, in which case the £14 you paid will be used towards the fee for your replacement Deed Poll. If you do not require a replacement Deed Poll, the £14 is non-refundable." Again, we're not sure what more we can do to communicate this to you. You could have called our helpline during the application process if there was any confusion on your part as to what you were applying for.
As stated above, you have the option to put the archive search fee towards a brand new Deed Poll anyway, so you haven't lost any money if you go ahead with this option.
